Are you grabbing your heart there or just trying to balance yourself?

RuneScape Discussion / Re: Jagex's Biggest Mistake

I finally got around to watching this recently, and you do a good job at communicating the problem.  I definitely agree with your points.

One advice though is that I think the part about the tower was not necessary to be so long and is straining the attention of your audience.  You could have got the message across through 5 or so of the best points, and there would have been more impact when they are not diluted by some of your less persuasive points.

Hi Hathor, that doesn't sound easy, but looks like you are dealing with the changes very well!

Thanks Mojo, I'll stick with going for the 2h.

Now with the duel wield gravite weapons, is it more effective to use these, or best to stick with 2h?

12 years already, happy Anniversary WG!

It would be nice to have some commemorative events, even if its just a veterans war or photo taking.  Considering the clan is over 3 different platforms, these events are a good way to create a solid clan identity.

And although it's true its not the same without Gene, I think he would rather the traditions he worked very hard to create be continued.  Certainly no one expects it to be as elaborate as what Gene did in the past though.

Anyways, very nice recap Mojo!

Thanks Mojo, in that case I'll stick to the R2h if needed.

Don't think I'll train dungeoneering though, as I would rather train in OS so I can join I'm there.  I prefer OS actually, and as you pointed out we don't have much activity in RS3 anyways.

Appreciate if anyone could help me with this gear question:

Since I don't have the dungeonnering level or time to do it (even if I did, I would rather spend training in OS), what if I used a corrupt dragon mace with berserker shield instead of R2h?

I think this would be more effective for me, as the last time I went to a war I had a hard time switching gear and died fast, so it would help me to already have the shield equipped.

Technical Support / Trying to format power mac
November 02, 2014, 04:44:45 PM
Figure I try asking here in case anyone knows:

I recently got a used power Mac (I think g4) and am having difficulty reformatting it.

I have tried doing command + R on reboot, but nothing happens.  I am not sure what version of Mac os x I have, but I think it might be snow leapord.  In that case, I might need the install disk...which I also don't have.

I also do not know the existing user login.  So I am now with a useless machine that I can't use.  Also, macs are very foreign to me, so I'm a bit lost.

In worst case, I am considering loading linux onto it.

Any ideas?

On one hand, I'm glad to see the the tobacco industry take a hit.  On the other, this is a ridiculous amount of compensation for one individual.  For example, if this amount went to the American Cancer Society of similar organisations it could do a whole lot of good.

Watched the whole thing, and you are so right about keeping it simple and social.

I disagree though about the need to attract the next generation, because RS is a browser based game, it cannot compete with the latest gameplay and trying to is wasting its resources and confusing players.   In a couple years, the new players will get bored and jagex would have to keep reinventing the game to keep up with the latest games.  The second reason is that runescape is intended to be a long-term game, and so jagex need a reliable and steady source of income.   New generation players will join fast and quit fast, but more mature players will pay for membership for years even if they only play a little on weekends.

I will not be going back to RS3. I said before that even if they brought back pre-eoc combat style it wouldn't be enough for me at this point. I don't like all the high level content they have added, warbands, divination, cosmetics, and overall free-xp-scape. I will definitely keep playing old school. There is a tiny chance I may play a little big of RS3 but I doubt it.. My favorite thing to do pre-eoc was Castle Wars and they ruined that already.

Well said!  I am trying to learn EoC (f2p) now, but keep finding out things that make me not want to play.  For example, the fact that almost all the damage comes from the weapon stats, so playing F2p it looks like I can't hit much higher with a rune weapon at 99 str, then anyone else at a much lower str level.  In EoC the gear seems to matter so much more than stats.  Please correct me if I am wrong, because I don't understand EoC very well.

I tried to make my lunch break at work for the time of the events, but I couldn't trade out with anyone.

I am sad I missed them.

Oops, sorry, didn't mean to rub it in!

Hi Martin!   Good to see you, I remember your RSN, but sorry that I don't really remember you because it was quite long ago..

Thanks for the great description, and welcome back!

Hi Al, yeah I remember you :)  Thanks for explaining about the holiday activities.  It looks like most people are playing RS07 in which case we may have to consider creating noob accounts to join non-combat events.  I wouldnt mind doing that, sometimes RS is more fun when things like bears and scorpions actually seem dangerous.

Hi Joe! Thanks for the smiley hearts, but no smiley hearts for Valdy too?

Rachael, Jenny and Kyle, of course I remember you, good to see you all still around.

Thanks Gene!  Actually I havent logged on since RS3 came out (you probably know why), so I am a bit lost.  I assume my account carried over to RS3 though, and I dont have time retrain an account on RS07 - so RS3 it is then.
