So basically, this means that you can retire and live off your savings and investments. I discovered this thing while browsing the internet and now I have decided to dedicate my 20s and early 30s to chase this dream. What financial independence means is that once you have enough money saved up, you can retire early and enjoy your life without working a single day again. How is it calculated? Assuming you will live till 85, take that minus the age you plan to retire, multiply that by the cost of living. EX, if I am currently 23, and I spend 40k USD per year, and I plan to retire at 35, I need to save 2m USD. Obviously this is not realistic for most people. But it's not impossible. In fact you don't need to make 2m at all. If you are a college graduate and make 60k+ a year and invest 20k a year. According to S&P 500's performance averaging 10-11% growth annually. You will have 1.15m to 1.3m USD in 20 years. And over 2m in 25 years. Also, some stocks pays dividends. Enough investing into stocks that yield dividends can last you a life time. Assuming you put 1m into a stock that pays 5% dividend, that means every year you will receive 50k cash. PS, if you know a foreign language and can move to a lesser developed country. You can retire earlier and still live like a king. I'm chinese, and I plan to move back to China once I invested enough. 500k investment with 5% dividend yield 25k USD per year, convert that to Yuan is 162k yuan per year which is upper class life outside mega cities. I started playing runescape back in 2007. My first account was called Scroogey and during my first pking trip I got backstabed and pked for studded chaps, a hard leather body, and a chefs hat; I was furious and ragequit the account to start a new account called addytiger. In 2007-2011 I really enjoyed minigames such as castle wars, stealing creation, and fist of guthix. I played on Addytiger from 2007 until 2011 and managed to get over 2k total level and max my combat stats. I quit playing runescape in March of 2011 due to my upcoming GSCE's. Started playing runescape again in 2014 or 2015 as I had missed the feeling of the game. Tell us about your clan history. WG was the first official runescape clan I have ever been a part of. I Joined back in 2016 and was active for a few months. I did dabble in some pure pking clans on an alt account for a few weeks but was not impressed by the attitude or mentality of the clan members (very immature, racist and homophobic jokes, etc.). I have been lurking in WG CC since 2016. I make an effort to talk in the CC and go to GWD or other events with players in the clan chat despite not being ranked myself. Yes Come clean about anything that may deter us from accepting you: I am prone to long streaks of inactivity. I like to grind OSRS for a few months and then take a long break and play other games. However I am usually active on discord or steam so I can still be reached quite easily. I previously applied for WG and was accepted back in July of 2020, however I didn't graduate as I didn't post enough on the forums. I took a break from OSRS for 6 months shortly after my application. Hi everyone, My name is Jake, some here that have played the game long enough might remember me as, Big-knockers. I started this game in 1999 and before that in RS Beta. I just recently came back to the game after many many years of taking a break from the game to see that my original account was banned but OSRS is back. I wanted to start the game up again and to my amazement I saw that WG was still around as well when I was looking on the RS community boards!!! I started remembering the nights on IRC and MSN Messenger with Eugene and my clans - The Night Hawks and Triforce. WG was always a second home for me and this community was always one of the best if not the best in the game.
