  1. I heard in clan chat recently that the clan has already registered their name. What name(s) did we register? Was the name "The Sabres" able to be included as well?
  2. Out of curiosity, have you tweeted any J mods yet? It's still a way off mid year, but once they roll out the first test of the clan system (available to Jagex staff only for testing purposes), there will only be a week allocated to hand out the names to the old clans. In other words, they will need to know the names and who to send them too in advance (before the testing begins).
  3. The clan isn't the same without you Hugboat. Welcome back
  4. As most of you will already know, Jadex has announced an update to the clan system. In this update Jadex proposed making clan names unique. They could be registered and then no one else could take them. What some people might not know is that Jadex announced in their twitch stream (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/927907051 58 minutes in) that famous and historical clans could register their name in advance, by contacting Jadex some way. I suggest that the Wilderness Guardians do this, and register our own name, as well as "The Sabres" and "Sabres". The Sabres have been documented by several OSRS Youtubers as the first clan in Runescape, and many players will be trying to register their name. What Jadex and the players may not know is that The Sabres merged with the Wilderness Guardians between 2012 and 2013. Many of our members are still Sabres, one of which is a leader of the clan. To preserve their legacy, and prevent some other clan pretending to be them, it would be preferable if we register this name too. Jadex said they would announce more about this closer to release of the update, which is scheduled for mid year.
  5. At first I thought this introduction was rather bare, but upon reading, it's just concise. Love the joke at the end by the way. Good luck with your application
  6. Welcome, I was about to make a joke about a past history in the "Deliver items" clan, but then I learnt what the slang meant haha. I hope you enjoy your time here.
  7. Welcome back. I'm sure you will be accepted again
  8. Good luck with your application Nala. Living in the woods with peace and quiet sounds great.
  9. Will S M O K E post next? Someone should name their account "Someone" so we can always be right.
  10. Is this topic missing the accepted message? I see that I Kill is an initiate guardian.
  11. Welcome to the clan. I'm sure this application will get you accepted.
  12. Good luck with your application. What's your favourite skill to train?
  13. I immediately search the wiki for "Frog Squad", could not find. Could you give us the details? Or is it top secret? Also, welcome back!
  14. I think you are misunderstanding: Consider someone who finds the most enjoyment by being AFK and still progressing in the game. For this reason, the most enjoyement they can get is by AFK fishing. However, with the advent of the new boss: - In order to be the most AFK, they need to play this boss. - In order to have the best profit, they need to play boss. - In order to get the best experience, they need to play this boss. However, playing the boss is not an AFK activity. As such, someone who wants to get the most enjoyment from the game will have to spend several hours on the boss beforehand. From a technical standpoint: You will have to bank twice as much, resulting is less AFK time. From a social standpoint: If you always prefer being more AFK, then you will prefer obtaining the rewards because it results in you being more AFK. See above points on enjoyment. They either bank half as much or obtain double the fish. This is a change by a factor of 2, not a slight one. By definition, this is a change to how the fishing skill works. This is non sequitur. It does not follow from the inability to empty the barrel at a fishing spot, that skillers are not helped at all. Skillers who bank their fish will have to bank half as often if they are not using spirit pieces, or will receive twice as much fish if they are. This is incorrect. Spirit flakes are an untradeable resource that when automatically consumed while fishing, provide a 50% chance of catching an extra fish for no additional XP.
  15. I am quite upset about this update. They seem to want to turn every skill into pvm. If I wanted to do pvm, I would just do pvm, not fishing. Furthermore, they want to reward players who prefer the pvm play-style when those same players decide to skill. This means that the people who prefer to skill are at an inherent disadvantage as they obtain less fish than their pvm counterparts, doing the same activity. This has been proposed in the form of spirit flakes which increase the number of fish you get at once, in addition to this, they want to give pvmers the chance to be more afk than skillers, by giving them a fishing barrel which stores 28 fish. However these items are only obtainable to people who play against the new boss.
  16. Welcome back, I hope you manage to find the time to play.
  17. Please join our Discord server and read the #joining_wg channel to see the final step in the process. Ivory Blade What is your current RS name? Ivory Blade List any previous RS names: What is your total level and combat level? My total level is 1809, and my combat is level is a measly 97. Tell us about your RuneScape account and history. I started playing back in 2007 and picked a name that sounded cool. I have never changed this name although I check occasionally to see if Blade or Ivory are untaken. My account is mainly used for skilling, although I occasionally play castle wars and attend a corp event. I have the typical stats of a noob skiller: above 99 woodcutting (14m xp) and cooking (17.5m xp), high fishing and mining, most buyable skills are very low (herblore, prayer, construction) and slayer is my lowest skill. I spent 13 hours on fletching and made my first 2m using it when I first became a member. I used the for profit method only, andI bought bonds in the process of obtaining that 99. The 2m was left over at the end from my efforts. After getting 99 fletching, I moved on to cooking like a typical noob, as the price of grapes had dropped substantially and I could get the skill for a mere 1.7m. I still have the wines from that effort and I don't see them ever running out. After getting cooking, I went to Zeah and got enough woodcutting for magic logs. Then, I proceeded to grind to 99 on those. I estimated that this took 300 hours in my previous post, based on the number of magic logs in my bank. However recently I have come to suspect that it took much longer, and I have just spent 100 hours fishing and I'm nowhere close to 99. Fishing is a faster skill to level up than woodcutting. I would tell you exact amount if I used a client that recorded it, but I have only ever used the vanilla client. When I fish, I do so in fashionscape even though I have the full anglers outfit, because it makes the game more enjoyable. A friend of mine Aljase, often skills with me. He estimates I have spent at least 100 hours at angler fish already. Tell us about your clan history. I was in this clan once before but i got removed in a sweep of inactivity. I was notified on discord about this twice, but didn't notice as I rarely use discord. After this I reapplied, but at the time I was only able to play on weekends. Because I live in Australia, it was hard for me to find the requisite 3 events to attend and complete my application. Hopefully this wont be the case again. Tell us about your yourself. I work in a laboratory on experimental physics. at one point this laboratory was closed due to covid-19, and I decided to take a break from my PHD because of this. Currently this break hasn't ended (there is a minimum time you can pause a PHD for), even though the lab has reopened. I'm enjoying myself studying different topics to what I usually do right now. Intellectual freedom is underrated. How did you hear about us? Your website. What makes you want to join us? I like groups of people with a history, and this clan has that. I am also a fan of the music which plays when you open the welcome page. It was the memory of this music that made me look the wildness guardians back up after seeing them for the first time years ago. Do you agree to the rules and requirements of WG and understand that this is an honour clan? Yes Come clean about anything that may deter us from accepting you: I was removed from the clan due to inactivity. You can see my previous application here (https://www.wildernessguardians.com/forums/topic/7640-accepted-ivory-blade/?tab=comments#comment-73613) which has additional details. Then I was removed again because I didn't complete 3 events and post about them on the forms in time. You can see my second application here: https://www.wildernessguardians.com/forums/topic/7915-accepted-ivory-blade/?tab=comments#comment-75347 I said I would train melee in my previous post to contribute more at corp, but I haven't gotten around to it because I find combat too draining. I worry I will be removed again because I am an infrequent player.

I also feel as though I didn't contribute enough in the two corp trips I have attended. I do not have base 80 melee stats or a BGS, so I used range with ruby bolts. I have been levelling combat recently to be of more use in corp trips.
  19. When a route to a safe spot exists in the wilderness, the best way to PK someone is to camp that route until they appear. There is nothing inherently wrong with this, however sometimes you just want to kill someone and screw the wait. This is currently possible at bosses like Calisto, where the only wait involved is the short time spent world hopping.
  20. I agree with this completely. They should refer to these things separately as combat minigames. If they place the overworked wilderness bosses in safe zones, then they would likely become too safe like KBD. I hope this is the case. However I notice that on their list of things, there are a lot of places a mistake like this could happen and the wilderness could be made too safe. Since they list so many changes, I expect at least one of these changes to have a negative impact (based on the statistics alone).
  21. Good luck with your application. I'm sure you won't need it though with your history, nice total level too
  22. I'm not hurt by my ping much, but my download speed can be a problem sometimes, even on OSRS.
