And this clan's history is a pain in the ass.
 
Despite being in Deathrow for the past 4 years - long after I accomplished my goals of putting NL in the ground, then putting PD in the ground for taking the ex-NL, and continuing to victimise the ex-NL/PD members for being fucking stupid fucking idiots - and with not much contact with present WG nor any real intentions of rejoining... I nonetheless find myself doing WG clan work. Mostly the same clan work I started in 2010 as Historian, which is to fully document the history of the Wilderness Guardians as best as possible. And that's mainly happening on the Wiki that Mojo and I started in 2019, but has remained largely unfinished since.
 
A few days ago, and completely out of nowhere, I had the sudden urge to finish it. And my plan was to do just that and then drop a link in discord and be like "HEY GUYS IT ONLY TOOK 5 YEARS BUT ITS FINALLY DONE" - but then after around a week of devoting a ridiculous amount of hours into research and writing (which includes negating most of my other hobbies and also skipping a few DR trips), I realise that there's a reason I've never gotten a wiki to a reasonable standard of completion before. To put it simply: there is a lot of stuff that's happened over the past twenty-one years, and researching all of it is neither quick, nor easy, nor simple.
 
So instead of waiting an impossibly long time to get there before I share any of my efforts, what I've decided to do is revive an old SMF forum topic from the late (not dead, just inactive) His Lordship - the Fragments of History. As I complete pages and sections, I'll share them here - because all humour and sarcasm aside, WG history is absolutely fascinating. No other clan has a story like WG does.
 
So if you happen to be interested - watch this topic. I'll update it periodicaly as things get done on the Wiki, and hopefully you'll be able to get a slightly better understanding of why, after fourteen years, I'm still obsessed with this clan. Either that, or you might actually learn something cool.

We'll start things off with a history meta - the first ever historical record, as written by His Lordship circa 2004. I say that lightly though - it's highly fictionalised in Lordy's fantasy writing style, but it does cover the events of late 2003 and early 2004 - Lordy getting PKed while collecting runes, posting on Rune Village, The Sabres, the Federation, and celebrating the 100 member mark.

I played runescape originally from 2004 to Free Trade Removal, but kept a finger on the pulse of the game a little bit while I was out. When OSRS got released, I had to crawl my way back in and have been playing on and off ever since. My favorite skill is Runecraft (Arceuus Library, Natures and Wrath are my favorite methods), my favorite boss is Olm, and my favorite minigame is Barbarian Assault (Coll>defender>healer>attacker)

Never pked with a clan or team outside of WG. Currently a member of Respectable, a ~20 person fledgling clan, but have bounced around Iron clans since I've been gone. Took a long break in general from trying to find a gaming community.

I'm a 28 year old cali boy who loves random trivia and formerly the second best barista in northeastern portland, oregon. I love to know what makes things tick, and I love the game design aspect of maximizing for fun of the players. Would like to start a youtube channel soon
 
How did you hear about us?  WG SEO OP. Looked to join a pk clan when I was a nooblet.
What makes you want to join us? WG is the only clan that really felt like a community. I would love to hang out in an active clan chat again without toxicity and constant politics. The events are fire too, and I would love to do learner raids and get some tank tests in.

Come clean about anything that may deter us from accepting you: Currently a trialist, but as mentioned in that application, I was for no one's fault but my own genuinely awful to my clanmates and friends. I will do better, and I took as much time as needed away from the internet until I was ready to come back and be 100% confident that there will be no issues from me going forward. I really owe all of WG an apology, and even in the time between now and my previous application, I have made strides to make sure I can better tell reality from delusion.

Where to begin! I started playing RS around about 2003, a few months before RS2 was released. I began playing with some old school mates.

The first clan I joined was called Dark Legion, which was a community/pking clan. We were never really a huge clan, but had an awesome core of GMT based members. Eventually our leader Acemcdonut, decided to disband the clan, resulting in every single member moving over to the very first version of The Titans, back when they were an 85+ combat clan. I absolutely loved my time there, participating in the Dragonwood and then resulting Rune Raiders wars, as well as mini-wars against top 10 clans such as DI and TD. PKing with max ops of levels 80/90's was always amusing!

I quit Titans initially when I joined the RAF in real life, with training etc taking priority. However after training I found a bit of spare time and rejoined just before The Man One was made leader. When TMO closed TT mainly due to the mass migration to DF, the rest of us moved over as well.

Eventually however due to deployments etc, I quit RS again, up until I discovered OSRS in about 2017, when a mate at work (I'd since left the RAF and was working as a maintenance engineer for Jaguar Land Rover) mentioned he'd started playing. I began playing religiously, eventually joining Vanguard where I met a few people I still consider friends today. VnG however began moving deeper and deeper into US Time zones, resulting in a lot of GMT aand European based memebrs leaving. I made the decision to leave VnG, remaining as a clan friend, and eventually quit RS again due to having no kind of community.

About 1 year ago I restarted playing OSRS, setting up my current account and have been enjoying playing casually.

Hi folks! My name's Andy, I'm 36 and live in Birmingham, England. I'm originally from Scunthorpe, however moved down to the West Mids for work.

I joined the RAF when I was 19 years old and spent 7 and a half years fixing aircraft and travelling the world. I met my now ex, and decided to leave the RAF due to spending too much time out the country (big mistake leaving, but it is what it is now) and joined Jaguar Land Rover as a maintenance engineer. About a year ago, I left JLR and joined Walkers Chocolates as a Maintenance Team Leader, and recently promoted to Maintenance Supervisor.

I love my football (Scunthorpe United), golf, music (anything except country) and cooking.

What makes you want to join us? WG has always been a good, honest clan with a good community, and that's what I want.

I was supersized i hadn't seen anything about this until i stumped upon it today.
 
I'm pretty interested. Ofc nothing will replace beloved osrs. But i like the graphics they're going for. I will get more excited once they show a open world setting and not small caves/areas.

VR- Left WG to join VR with Wiggin; he was exetremly active aswell as I and got suckered into following him into a different clan

He sounded very promising trying to get me to switch and it took him over 2 weeks everyday to eventually talk to into joining VR. I then got deployed and got kicked for inactivity. WG is my home and its where I belong. I have been with WG for many many years and have shown my integrity to my clan mates 1000 fold.

Come clean about anything that may deter us from accepting you: If you were around when i was in wg last you more then likely know i was kicked for helping in RWT because i was a mod on a service discord that also sold gp. I didn't actually sell any gp but at the time mojo was firmly against it.

I am/was? a pretty old member of wg, just looking to get my rank back on forums if possible (emeritus) and some sort of ingame cc rank, hoping to be active here and there and maybe get involved with some events when possible. Apart from those that I have a quick chat to from time to time on discord, not sure whose still around from my stints over the last 20 years but always keen to game with whoever.
