Prior to today I got English Lang and Statistics which I think I passed, so 2 in the bag.

Today:

Music - B - Pass
Graphic Products - B - Pass
French - B - Pass
English Literature - B - Pass
Maths - A* - Pass
Science - C - Pass
Additional Science - B - Pass
Biology - C - Pass
Chemistry - D - Fail
Physics - D - Fail
Compulsory PE Theory - D - Fail but couldn't give a shit cause its not even a full GCSE
Adult Literacy - 2 - Pass (Half GCSE equiv)
Adult Numeracy - 2 - Pass (Half GCSE equiv)
Certificate in Digital Applications L2 - Credit - Pass (2 GCSEs equiv)

2+8 passes, a CIDA and 2 random online testing courses make up the equivalent of 13 GCSEs. Not especially happy with the grades but I've enrolled at college so I should be ok for now.

And no I don't know why science is so fucked up either.

Funny story.

In year 9 my set (set 1) were put in for triple award science, meaning we did the core in year 9, GCSE in 10 and higher in yr 11. Of course, we had no say in it and a lot of people failed the core exams in year 9. So we spent the next 2 years trying to make up for lost work in year 9 AND the set course so no one had a damn clue what the hell was going on.

So I eventually gave up, and did some things which got me expelled but that's another story. In the end, no one expected good science grades so I don't give a fuck what I did or what I got. Science shouldn't be compulsory IMO, and in any case they shouldn't force us to do extra. But did they learn? No, the next year instead of set 1 they put in the 3 top sets for triple award. And the year after that as well. And this year they're doing the same thing with maths.

Tbh I'm not gonna be 1. a science teacher or 2. an astronaut. So I don't give a flying pig's dick about science GCSEs because most jobs out there ask for basic qualifications: GCSE in English and Maths, no science. And I don't care about college points because I just enrolled for a Btec National Diploma in IT so smd.

Also a D is a fail. Pass is C+.

If a D is a fail why do they bother grading them all the way down to F? When I did them it was A*-F and then a U (Ungraded) was a fail.

Also, don't diss Science. I science your arsehole open.

Well you gotta know how far away from the mark you were.

I have nothing against science, I just think it should be optional instead of compulsory. It's a good subject, just not when you have GCSE coursework and exams forced upon you a year early.

Sgt aren't SATs for like... 13 year olds? blink.gif
