Never to early...

You have nice sigs and art, maybe would be an interesting incorporation of the two in some way.

Okay.. So I did one anyway:

================================================

 Application for Event Leader

Name: King Dallar
Join date: October 21st 2009 (I was here for 5 months with my old Account Sygelig)
Time zone: GMT+1 (One hour ahead of GMT)

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

- Alot actually.

1st. I have thought about some ideas to new events. I looked through the events catalogue the other day to see if there was something I could contribute with. And yes. I have like 3-5 events I'd like added to the events catalogue when I've decided how they should be exactly. I also think that I am good at looking after something fun to do ingame while training my skills. At the moment I am doing Agility and I have thought of a couple of fun events with Agility included. So have I done with Woodcutting. I think the world of Runescape has 1000++ more events to it than we've added to the events catalogue and I consider myself great at finding them.

2nd. I'm not afraid of making events and I am not afraid of telling people to pull together and meet up for these events. One of my goals with the EL rank is to motivate people to wake up and attend WG events. I would like to think of myself as a person who like variety in favour of what WG like the most. I'll be using the Events catalogue to point out some events which hasn't been held within the last couple of months. I would like to see different events every time I call an event.
I will also show my support to other event-makers when Wilderness events are going to start by noticing everybody off the certain event and I'll do my best to make everybody sign up AND turn up for the events.

3rd. I'll make sure that I write RECAPS right after an event and I'll give out attendance as quick as possible after the event. I think this is something that's missing in WG and it's what I want to be improved alot. I'll promise that I'll stick to what I say even though I've been told that RECAP-writing can be a pain sometimes.

4th. I'm a nice person. I think of myself as a positive addition to WG because I know that everything I'm saying in this application will be kept real towards my friends in the community. I don't think of this position as an opportunity to make myself go higher in the ranks. No. I think that EL will give me alot of fun challenges, alot of fun experiences and it will teach me everything I need to know to be the perfect Wilderness Guardian.

5th. I've got the time for it. I'm at my last year in High School and I'm doing well even though I write my essays while jumping around at Ape Atoll Agility course. Of course there will be days where I won't be on for like 24 hours. No man can promise to be here 24/7 but I'll be here most of the week just like I always did. There will be weekends where I'm at parties and there will be sundays where I'm playing handball but that's it. I'm here like 5-7 hours a day and why not spend this time on making WG a better place for every single member by making events for them and have fun?

6th. I'm mature.. I treat everybody with respect and kindness. If somebody need my help I'm there for them. Rachel recharged all my glories for me a few weeks back and I'm still waiting for the moment where I can pay back the favour. I'm old enough to tell the difference between fun and bullshit and I'll use this to make WG the perfect place for everybody.I have also been very active in sig making.. I'm always up for making signatures if people like and want what I make. (I just got Windows 7 so my Photoshop has not been installed yet BUT IT WILL!!)

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them).

I've got this one going at the moment:
http://www.wildernessguardians.com/forum/i...showtopic=15039

I've made up a few myself:

Survivorman

Survivorman is a NON-PVP event which takes place wherever you want. It's not allowed to use your bank or GE to complete this event. In a certain amount of time (Let's say one hour) it's up to you to earn the highest amount of GP. The way you make them is your decision (If it's fishing, mining, runecrafting etc).. You'll have to find the tools needed for gathering the resources (You're not allowed to get the tools from the bank either)

At the end we meet up at Varrock and then we go to the Grand exchange and sell what we've collected. The person with the highest amount of GP wins.

The Wilderness Guardians Iron man challenge

You start out in Lumbridge. I will start the race with a count down. When the race starts you follow the route on the maps posted below. You are not allowed to use teleport spells for this and you are not allowed to get the resources from the bank or GE. Throughout you will face 5 challenges (Speed, Agility, Mining, Woodcutting and Fishing) The first person to complete this race wins.

Here's the route:

Race starts at Lumbridge
From Lumbridge > Mining Ground east of Melzars maze.
Mining ground > Falador bank
Falador bank > Catherby fishing spot
Catherby fishing spot > Catherby Bank
Catherby Bank > Maple forest north of Camelot
Maple forest > Camelot bank
Camelot bank > Barbarian Course

user posted image

First person to complete to Agility course wins

(There will be put watchmen at the 4 challenges to make sure that you are doing what you're supposed to do. When you're done gathering resources at the different locations you can't proceed before you have shown your full load to one of the watchmen. When your inventory is full you can go to the banks on the route to store them and get the new tool required for the next challenge)

How you gear up for this is totally up to you (I suggest weight reducing equipment)

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

Nothing actually. But I think I've got alot of ideas that'll make the rank suitable for me. I've posted my ambitions and ideas above this question smile.gif

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
No.. if something will come up I'll be the first to know but it won't be something that'll let my generel activity go down

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I would like you to know that I'm aware of my time in WG. I haven't been here very long. But I think of myself as an old-schooler who knows how to please his fellow friends and leaders and I'm more than sure that I'm ready for some responsibility. The event leader rank is the perfect place to test out my skills. I understand if the staff won't accept my application because I'm fairly new. But I want you to take my dedication so far into your considerations and use it to determine how dedicated I would be as an event leader. I won't dissapoint anybody with this. I promise.

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continously throughout your service to the best of your ability?

Yes I will.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?
Well I am a ex member of 'The' Clan so I have seen many different events that we could have tons of fun holding. I also just decided to start skilling a few months ago so I am going to be wanting to do more skill based events such as Pyramid Plunder, Stealing Creations and many other things along those lines.

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them).
Yeah I am pretty imaginative, Like I said above, I would like to do some Pyramid Plunder and some more Stealing Creations. Theres so many things you can do in Runescape that you cant just name them all in a list. You have to switch things up from time to time. Even holding a event just to hang out in Ardy or Edgvill from time to time just to spend time with clan members is nice.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?
Well I cant say anything puts me above them as far as ability to do the work. I don't know what the other people applying are able to do and I'm not much of one to say I'm better than them.

What i can say is that i play the game for somewhere close to 40+ hours a week so I think its safe to say I put more time into the game and can be more active than most people that look into a spot as an Event Leader. I'm willing to take time out of my day to hang out with the clan and hold events for everyone to skill and have fun.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
Nope, Everything seems pretty clear for me.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
Good luck to everyone that puts in a application and may the best 2 people win smile.gif

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continously throughout your service to the best of your ability?
Yes if I get the spot i will do everything i can to be as active as possible smile.gif

This has always been a problem in WG.
A lack of quality applicants always means that the choice is a forced one, rather than something competitively obtained.
The same is true for the raid leader and council ranks.

Perhaps instead of letting people apply and immediately be thrown in at the deep end, applicants should take the next couple of weeks to make their own events and prove themselves.

Thats what happened last time on its own naturally. If you can go out right now and make events you can. The option is there! Your competition will naturally have to compete with you. Try to be unique creative and listen to the people that want certain events. Good luck.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

since yesterday i have lots and lots of free time, so i wouldn't have any problems to host some events for atleast 2 main time zones, euro + aussie, maybe even for americans, if i can't sleep well hash.png Well What else i have to offer to WG? Well, i would introduce our new members to WG's old skool shit. I miss many events we used to do back in the old days and not just that but also some new stuff. I know how this work is done, i know how to handle the pressure, i know how to kick some ass if it's needed, i have never abused power in my time being a tertiary...well maybe i kicked moose out of #wg when he was a newby around here but that's all hash.png

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them).

oh man..there are so many events people could do...the sky is the limit. EVERYTHING you could think of playing IRL you could set up in RS...like the famous Skill Olypmpics hash.png. Iwould bring up old and new events. Well if i was an event leader again, i wouldn't just host RS event, what i used to love were random internet games and stuff like that...people get bored doing the same over and over again, so i'd mix it a little bit up.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

i got shit loads of free time...and some opther stuff which i actually mentioned above^^

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

what do you mean by in active? sure there is gonna be times when i will be forced to go in active for couple of days..but not like for long time, not that i could think of something.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

i'm not gonna make any big, colourful, shiny, overdone fkn application hash.png

/me looks at Dallar's app

wait what? blink.gif

But I agree with the general idea. Firsthand experience in the task is a good positive for both the applicants as well as the people who'll make the decision, and the rest of the clan as well cause they get events. Well everyone basically. Heck, EL apps is probably the best time for the clan overall tongue.gif

I hope with this type of interest in EL to see some great stuff going on. I believe some of the applicants can really tank. rolleyes.gif

I disagree somewhat with the fact that only people applying make events. There are a few members that just enjoy leading sometimes. I know I do it just for the fun of it.
