At a stand still you can try this:

Avoid

1. Dairy

2. Wheat

3. Sugar

4. Soy

5. Corn

6. Eggs

7. Peanuts

I usually avoid these for two weeks then slowly add them back into my meals. It helps to reset your motabalism over again.

Always eat something within the first hour you are awake as well.

Might as well just eat grass...

Wheat you can keep, as long as you're exercising.

Sugar cut out completely apart from sugar gained from fruits.

Eggs are good, try making omelettes/scrambled egg without the yolk..

Peanuts are good sources of unsaturated fats and oils, the kind of fats your body needs to live.

btw. i just lost 35 POUNDS!

i'm ahead by 15 pounds so i'm in 1st place!
if i keep this up by the end of MAY! i get $500.00

i'm still waiting for my first $500.00 because they think since i'm so close to 35 pounds that i probably fasted to that weight. in any case i'm going to keep losing weight nonetheless.

outside of that i have to admit, the best way to lose weight is to balance diet with plenty of water, fruit, vegetables and 1 hour of intensive cardio.

right now i'm looking forward to winning the competition and moving to the next phase. body building =D

Nice! Congrats man! That's really something to be proud of. 35 lbs is a lot to lose. Keep this lifestyle up, you'll win $500, but most of all you'll stay healthy which is something that has to be maintained and cannot be bought.

And yeah, definitely try body building! I'm sure it would work out great for you considering you've been able to stick to one type of diet successfully. Although don't do what I call "quick-fix" bodybuilding which is where you start out hard with tons of supplements (it's unhealthy and hard to maintain a consistency with it). Again, make it a lifestyle change, eat lots of healthy proteins and exercise regularly (the good news is less cardio... yet more weight lifting tongue.gif hehe).

Keep it up. I don't want to sound corny but I'm proud! biggrin.gif

Hey fishy, are you still going with this?
I've lost 33 pounds from January 11th to this day.
That is without much exercise and really only by VARYING my diet, I mean by cutting back on the usual things - chocolate, biscuits, but also just by eating less!!

It hasn't been difficult for me at all and I thought it would be.

I'm still going...

Nice one man! That's an incredible loss, i'm impressed by the motivation. You should be able to build up muscle easy with that attitude.

If you want to build yourself up while staying healthy, aim towards the proteins you get from wholemeal products (bread etc.), egg whites, low fat milk, soya, nuts, and of course lean meats. Also make sure you check what veg gives you protein. I discovered at uni that spinnaich is a pretty neat way of getting very low-calorie protein, and obviously good for ya (look at pop-eye).

Good luck, keep it up

I dunno about bread though. Bread can have a fair amount of carbohydrates. Sure bread is good, just don't rely on it as a diet food. Try eating Tortilla Wraps instead, limits the carbs while still making for a good style sandwich.

yeah true, bread isn't the best bet. Was just really making the point wholemeal is a lot better than brown.

Its pretty good for protein in moderation though. Tortilla wraps are a good idea. Last term at uni i tried making sandwiches without bread by wrapping ham around lettuce and peppers, i'll try the wraps idea.

Love the low fat milk, ive been working out more lately (PT test comming up in the future, and im deploying a year from now) and ive been cramming lowfat milk with breakfast and dinner. Also been doing scrambled egg whites and lots of chicken/fish. It's worked out quite nicely.
