Just saw it. I'm confused as to why they didn't just make the movie longer so the dialogue wasn't so rushed and to the point. It was literally like "This happened, we must go there and do this!" the entire film. Aang or ONG wasn't close to his character at all... either was Katara or Sokka. Princess Yue was hot. 4/10

Yeah, that was my problem. I didn't know why he rushed things so much.
He usually let's things go very slowly, which is what I liked about his films.

I'm hoping that he just did this to set the plot in place so he can take his time on the middle content, for the upcoming sequels. I have a feeling he's going to add that Earth-bending girl soon.

Your feeling would be correct as he's going by book lol. This was book one. Although the reviews were awful, there will definitely be a sequel since it did pretty well in the box office. I'm hoping Nickelodeon will find a new director though.

What's significant about this Earthbender? We had a death knight in our raid last night who summoned a ghoul during the Blood Queen fight and was psyched that the random name generator called it Earthbender. blink.gif Favorite character or something?

I went to see it. I'm glad I did, but it doesn't make it any less awful.

I knew nothing about the story so I'm not nerd raging; the acting was just horrid.

Saw it, and was pretty bored throughout.

I could basically predict everything. The moments that were supposed to be inspiring were very generic.

The kid's epic speech to the earth benders was so...bland and generic I literally almost started laughing. Other things like the whole reason he couldn't bend water properly...I found it terribly generic, but I can't really expect anything gritty because it is based off a cartoon, but still something that just made me lose focus form the movie and just want to laugh.

I personally thought the movie was incredibly slow, but having read other people's opinions I see what you mean when you say it was fast. I still think it just took to long to get from one key scene to another key scene. I felt like there was a lot of in between that could have been condensed to make room for more confrontation.

I figure that the next one will be able to do just that. In this one they focus on the entire aspect of bending the elements, so there was a HUGE amount of focus on the techniques. I assume in the next film they'll just mention that he learns to bend the other elements, rather than show him actually participating in classes, or practicing - because we've already seen it.

I haven't watched any of the cartoon episodes, I just thought it was going to look cool and knew the series was pretty good. All the scenes from the trailers literally happened in the last 20 minutes or whatever of the film...and I really thought there was going to be more action. But I felt like there was just a dash of action and a lot of fluff.

Wasn't impressed...at all. The FX were entertaining though.

Very skeptical for the coming films though, I must say.
