My first job was working for my dad doing some manual labor. He works with concrete forming and shoring (renting out the pieces of equipment that you pour concrete into), so I helped his yard people clean the equipment of excess concrete, put together orders, and manage the yard. I didn't really get the money; all of my profits were put into my payment for my trip to Costa Rica.

I have cut various yards for cash here and there.

My first real job with a paycheck is at Publix (a grocery store in south-east USA). I started out as a Front Service Clerk (bagging groceries, taking out people's groceries, cleaning shit up), and now I am a cashier. I am one of the two favorites that my manager has, so I basically do what I want and get offered to do special shit.

They'll run away and aggressively accuse you of "attacking" them and their "beliefs".
I'm sorry, please, keep teaching our kids that they'll burn in hell if they don't believe. Mutilate their genitals against their will while you're at it. Keep influencing politics and holding back vital scientific research.
I'll just keep my mouth shut to "respect" your "beliefs".

My first job was cutting grass for neighbours.

My first real job was working in the meals to go department of Loblaws, a supermarket. I still have the job and there's a very strong possibility of a strike happening. It depends on tomorrow's negotiations. The strike vote is already in, the union just needs to post the 72 hour strike notice and I'll have weekends off! I've had this job since I was 15 but I'll probably quit after I get the signing bonus that I'm holding out for.

Worked at my parents Cafe which turned into a Thai Restaurant (Not even asian (H)), was a drinks/dishie/food preparing boy. Didnt last too long as i would have rathered strangers as my boss.

That was in grade 8 or 9. Didnt have a job until finishing school in which for my gap year before university i worked as a Trades Assistant at a crane company which in a few years will be the most well known and sought after company in Australia after they take over Boom. I worked for Fitters/turners, painters, boiler makers and panel beaters so i picked up alot of skills in one year and alot of general knowledge for a kid who never worked with machines apart from a computer before biggrin.gif

Now i'm studying to be an accountant at university smile.gif (first year)

My first job technically was helping out and being a waitress/cook/janitor in my Dad's bar. I was only 13, but because it was family owned, it wasn't technically illegal, but it wasn't technically legal either.

My first legal job was when I was 16. I worked for http://www.uspirg.org/
They are an advocate group that stands up to the big corporations on the behalf of public safety, interest, and well being. At the time I was assigned to an animal advocacy campaign. I went door to door educating and asking for donations, held fund raisers, and participated in picketing and boycotting rallies. I kinda loved it, but the pay was hugely shit so eventually I had to leave to be able to pay my bills.

They can take strap ones off to clean afterward. lol

My first job was selling the local farmers seeds. I sold so many my mom made me stop doing it. We would have cases of the stuff delivered to our house all at once and then she had a fit cause I put saddle bags on my pony to deliver it. I was about 11 I think.

My second job was weeding a lot of flower gardens for $5 an hour. When the people bought the seeds I told them I could weed for them for that. lol

Take a guess what my other jobs were . . . harvesting. lol

I made about $650 that summer and I sold my pony for $300. I spent about $50 and banked the rest cause they wouldn't let me buy a pool.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

is the day you have stopped leading them.
They have either lost confidence that you can help them
or concluded that you do not care.
Either case is a failure of leadership.”

Delivered newspapers. I had to stuff and fold them. One of my clients was the then owner of the Chicago Bears. The Christmas tip was huge...thanks for the memories.

When I was 11 I delivered newspapers. I had to fold them which was a pain.
I only had that job for 3 weeks until it pissed me off too much.

Then when I was 18, I stacked shelves for a supermerket and I had that job until I was 21.

Then I became a music teacher.

You forgot Zenith Music. Yes, I know far too much.
