Anthem by Ayn Rand is a good book. it is short but it is such a good read.

His Demonata books are about magic aswell. They're pretty good to be honest, although they are more for teens than anything else.

You've read the belgariad? Oh how I love you. Read the next set by edding, mallorean, also based on belgarion. And you also have the 2 prequels by eddings, belgarath and polgara. Also both epic reads.

Just updated the book list to show that I am taking all recommendations seriously and in many cases I have purchased what you've recommended.

I have the Hobbit.
Will buy more Eddings once I finish the first lot.

The whole Redwall series by Brian Jacques. They might be a bit too childish, but the whole series is what made my childhood.

I plan on re-reading them eventually.
