My apologies. Here's a nice hard one that I was saving for later A knight fell in love with a princess, and they were about to be wed. But, there was one catch: the knight must pass a game of chance with the queen. The day before the game, one servant told the knight the rules. The queen qould have 2 sheets of paper, one in each hand. One would say "snakes" in which case the knight would be tossed in a pit of snakes (brutal much?). The other said "marriage". The knight would have to choose one. During the day, he realized that the queen probably didnt care much for him. At the end, he concluded that she would probably write snakes on both cards. But, he also realized that if he exposed her trickery, he would be called a traitor and hung. When the day finally came, the knight somehow won the contest and married the princess. How? --------------------      |

It's been about 4 days since the posting of the riddle, so here goes: The knight simply chooses either hand, quickly grabs the paper, and swallows it. Then he says "I've accepted my fate, show me the other card". By order of elimination, the knight "chose" the marriage card. Furthermore, if the queen should speak up, she will be self-incriminating herself. -------------------- |
