Sorry to hear about the attendance, came as a rude surprise for me although I was one of those who wasn't there.

Its not as important to know than the fact I've missed it after I've signed up. But for the sake of FYI, I'll just pen it here.

I could not walk out of a coincidental company xmas party that ended too late, there's also a team thing/event I am a part of that I cannot walk out till the end. By the time its over at 2am+, I wasn't that drunk but had became too unable to stay awake or wake up 0600hrs, the very same morning. By the time I woke up late morning I had to rush off to attend another scheduled meeting & errand till afternoon. Barely 2 hours of break and I'm off to another appointment again till now. I didn't have time to think or check until the 2 hours break, although I had it at the back of my mind. But I know I have already missed it and was disappointed.

Signed up, prep everything and looked forward to attending very much, unfortunately missed it - ironically, it wasn't intentional. In truth, besides the clan quest this is actually the event I've been looking forward to the most. Apologies that I could not be and did not make it with the rest of you who attended. Making a large sweep is understandable.

I apologise that i wasn't there Elias, i had to go to bed early as i had to wake up early for cadets.

The attendance is poor currently and i agree that it needs to be thoroughly checked.

I can vouch for Valdy here as I know how hard you work...

I hope that it gets easier for you, though as I am see'ing it only gets busier as deadlines come up towards the X-mas break.

As Narita has pointed out, many of us are very busy over the christmas holiday period with work and family commitments.

As I have said earlier.... I would not have resigned from council if I was not going to have to be inactive, but I do have a date which I know I will be able to return to WG at.... if you can't wait till then, so be it.

It would be nice to have a new defenition of emeritus though if you wish for its purpose to change.

I was there but after waiting for roughly 45 minutes my internet gave out and I did not get it back until shortly before the bandits crashing, which I joined in on.

Just want to reinstate, Evil is just saying what he knows because he's not a friend I know from RS but has already become a RL friend in contact and knows me as in RL.

Thanks JC, t'was a pleasant surprise, appreciate it.

Its understandable to measures that needs to nip the issues about attendance, the definition of Emeritus' qualification needs some good considerations. They attend because they still care despite what you may think about requirements.

However, I do think it has become a rank that's overused and over-bruised. You can snip off its rights till its left with almost nothing but the real problem is really not the retired inactives.

Over the weekend so far i've been to every event possible, considering i got accepted late friday night =/. I missed the clan quest for a rl reason, but was there for the Photoshoot. Had to go half way through the congar as it was like 2am, and i had been up since 10 am the morning before, i needed to go to bed.

I said i would be as active as humanly possible, and i stick to that, but a dude needs sleep lol.

Unveiling my excuses aswell...

Not allowed to use computer, except from 7:30 to 9:30 EST.

Aside from that,
School.
Work after school.
Winter Track practice between those two.
I also have to sleep at some point.

When I'm at my Dad's I just have my PSP, so I browse RSC or here. The only near library has a no games policy.

That's it, Sorry for lack of attendance but at least I sign up sometimes :/

Sometimes you seem to think that RuneScape is the only thing people in WG do. Or if you don't think that, you sure as hell make it sound like that. People did not not come to this event because they didn't care, it was because it was at a bad time. You make it sound like people are on RuneScape woodcutting or firemaking and don't come to the photoshoot because they want to level up faster. No, they're probably not even home.

Let's check out the time of the Photoshoot.

QUOTE
Friday, December 12

Time: 5pm (EST), 10pm (GMT), 9am Saturday (AEST)

Okay, let's analyze that time. For Britain and Europe it's a very reasonable time, most likely they'll be home and be able to come to the event. It's at the end of the day, but most people shouldn't have a problem with getting on RuneScape at 10 PM.

Now for Australia, 9 AM. I don't know about you, but after a week of school (where I get about 6 hours of sleep per night), I certainly wouldn't get up for a WG event this early. I value my sleep, and you shouldn't ever expect me at an event before 10:30 AM on weekends. The exception to this would be in the Summer, where I'd be willing to wake up earlier for an event.

Finally, and worst of all, the American time, 5 PM EST. Well that puts it at 5 PM for the East Coast, 4 PM for the Midwest, and then 3 and 2 PM for the Rockies and the West Coast. Hmm, well I don't know about you, but it's not even possible for anyone who goes to school and lives in the latter two timezones to come to this event. What do you want these people to do?

Let's all skip school so we can come to a RuneScape Clan event!

People shouldn't have to choose between dropping out of school and getting kicked out of a RuneScape Clan.

And for the other timezones, the ones that technically could make it. 4 PM and 5 PM on a Friday afternoon.

Here's the scenario you'd probably like people in WG to take.

Best Friend: Hey wanna hang out after school on Friday?
Me: No, I have to go play RuneScape to go to a clan event.
Best Friend: Wow, that's really lame. Are you serious?
Me: Yeah. *Walks Away*

Well I can tell you something. I will never ditch my friends to Play RuneScape. Yes, that means Friends > Wilderness Guardians, always. Deal with it.

The Scenario for me was something like this:

Best Friend: Hey wanna hang out after school on Friday?
Me (with the clan event not even coming to mind): Yeah, sure. What do you want to do?

-----

So go ahead, ban the entire clan for allegedly not caring about events. Just because you're willing to sacrifice so much time, doesn't mean others are. Also, EVENTS ARE NOT ALWAYS AT THE IDEAL TIME FOR EVERONE.

I am not actually sure if this is an activity problem. If it was not an anniversary event we were having, but a war, do you still think we would have had 20 people show up?

For an important war we would have gotten at least 30 people. I think this is a problem with people not realizing the importance of the anniversary events. The photoshoot is much more important than a war. If we lose a war, no huge deal, there are many more wars to come in the year and we have lots of time to improve. The photoshoot only happens once a year, and is supposed to be our most impressive display or activity, organization, and clan pride. Pulling 20 people to the photoshoot is the equivalent losing to ourselves.

Yes, that is right, we did not need the help of SE or any other clan to fail, we failed just by ourselves. How can we expect to beat other clans if we cannot even win when we have all the conditions in our favor, and our only opponent is ourselves?

I say we give this another shot, and if we do not pull 35 people (about half of our active p2p memberlist, a reasonable number for such an important event) then two things happen:
1) The massive inactivity sweep Lordy promised will happen.
2) No wars or raids for the next week. We lower the number a little and repeat the following week, and if that still fails then no wars or raids for the next week, and try the event again the following week. And so on until we have done the photoshoot.

Keep in mind this proposal comes from someone who hates both inactivity sweeps and limiting our amount of wars. However I think this kind of deal with the the fairest for both WG and Lordy. We get another try at the photoshoot, and if we fail again the consequences will be more than just an inactivity sweep.

When we limited our warring to once every three weeks, it didn't help. Why put even more limits on people who like Raiding and warring when it will have no outcome on the attendance |:

Unfortunately, this clan is mostly American based and with the time the event was scheduled, it was difficult for some to attend.

5:00 EST is hard because that's when majority of people get OUT of work. They need time to get home, kiss the cat, kick the wife (or is it the other way around), eat and log in.

4:00 CST is difficult because as above, most people are still working or just getting out of band practice, sporting event practice or even partaking in a school function. I know most our football games were on Friday.

3:00 MST...school

2:00 PST...school

I'm not making excuses for anyone, myself included, but perhaps if this event was so important, it could have been scheduled as such so that more people COULD attend.

With that said, I'm still a little miffed that only 17 people were there and I'm guessing it's the same 17 people that make EVERY event. Pretty sad in my opinion. I remember when the anniversary meant something to the members of this clan. What happened?

I was a bit surprised when I showed up with my 4 outfits that I had planned to wear for the event that it was changed. I didn't have what I needed then to participate. No one had an outfit for me to purchase. I was on inactivity at the time too

I'm a bit disappointed that is all that showed up.

I am not taking excuses except for Tyranu's.
Other than that I will be following statistics to perfection.
There is no excuse as to why the clan is this inactive.

Pile on as many excuses as you want.
While I'm normally reasonable, I am going to be merciless.
2 out of now 8 days is tragic and NO decent clan would accept you with an activity rate like that.

Useph, it's great that you have a healthy and active real life.
That's what I like to see. And I'm not asking you to put it on hold.
Don't be stupid.
I didn't say that at all.

I'm saying, if you're real life is full of activities, then it is your obligation to leave, and not our obligation to let you be inactive here. Take the initiative and tend to real life. If you can't make 2 out of 8 events, well I'm not going to let you stay with an activity rate like that.

You can't have the cake and eat it.
Go live your IRL but don't come in here and demand that we let you remain inactive.

If the events aren't F2P, don't expect many emeritus to attend, emeritus generally means retired from RS, who's gonna pay for a game they don't play? If I know there's an F2P event going to be on, that is important (i.e. Anniversary) I'll do my best to attend. Unfortunately, I'm working like, 9-5 everyday, I have revision for exams, I have a project to create, jobs to apply/interview for, as well as social commitments to meet. If that means I am no longer even eligible for Emeritus, then so be it, I respect WG too much to expect or want to be outside these rules, and I'm doing my best, unfortunately it would seem nowadays isn't a brilliant time for me to have the responsibility.

There's a good amount of f2p events.
Three of the days were f2p.
Of those three only one remains.
