Ranks, IMO, are the best incentive for anything.

But does this show true to the higher and elite rank?
Most clans have the same thing they just call it something else.

I meant are the current ranks we have the best incentives?
They're really just handed out for dedication and hard work. Not warring or training.

No, there really isn't much incentive to work for a rank at the moment because

A) You never know if you'll get it
cool.gif You have no idea what is required to get it

However, when you do get a promotion you feel a sense of pride, that you are one of the more dedicated in WG, plus you get access to more security forums which makes people feel better. All in all, people want to get promoted but right now there is no solid way to achieve such a promotion. People need something they can grasp onto. Even if it requires hard work, at least they know it will guarantee them a promotion (or in the case of elite guardian, they at least clear the concrete requirements).

I can say from experience that's how it used to be. We had set criteria for each rank, and when you met them all you'd fill out an application. And by GOD was that a wonderful feeling. You worked for it and you damn well earned it, not so much the "oh hi council noticed you this month here's a new rank have fun." eck12.gif

Given what happened last time we raised our requirements, I'd say this is a bad idea. However, given the data that Keanu has pointed out, we have 6 members below 105 F2P combat. Three are already 104, so getting that last level shouldn't take long. Two are 102 and getting 3 levels is pretty simple, and we've got one that's sitting on 100 combat so getting those five levels might take a bit more time.

Given that, I think a raise to 105 is pretty fair. It's not too much pressure on those that will be affected.

At the same time I'd like to suggest an 82 Magic requirement, again just a suggestion since we're on the topic of requirements. It makes sense since we're going more into P2P. At the moment we've got 17 people below 82 Magic. That's quite a few. Here is the breakdown:

2 @ level 80
1 @ level 79
2 @ level 77
1 @ level 76
1 @ level 73
2 @ level 72
3 @ level 71
1 @ level 67
1 @ level 55
1 @ level 52

This would then give us the advantage of having everyone be a possibly mager in a fight. This would eliminate the "I don't have the level for it" excuse.

The mage thing is a bit more intense especially those that are <70 Magic. It's also costly so that's a factor.

Either way, we could ease into this.

As far as just combat goes, I'd like to see us just step it up a notch. It's not a huge change but seeing as most of us meet it already I don't see the harm in at least testing it out.

It might not mean much to anyone else but i know that would make a few members leave for instance an 82 mage req. I would have to leave I don't have necesary funds/time for something of that magnitude thats 1.9m experience from my current level. That is not the solution. maybe say 115+ need 82+ magic or 120+ that gives members like me the time to achieve something like that, I would have to do over 10 quests and get 20 other lvls not to mention the 15 magic levels it would take to meet that req. If ya'll say hello to that req. ya'll kan say goodbye to some of ur loyal members.

Me included. Fair enough 120+ should really have 82 mage anyway unless they're like 0MAGEXPFORLIFE but putting a req like that in... is going to screw up recruitment badly. And everything else.

More importantly who the fuck can possibly be worse than me at mage?

Raising the requirement has not worked in the past and I think it is more likely than not that it will not work if changed. If people want to train they will, if not they will not otherwise why isn't everyone 126 ftp?

The clan world is changing alot, overall levels are going up, and people looking for new clans will most likely take the 110+ clan over the 100+ clan, because they're better levels = better clan. (at pvp that is)

I vote yes.because it is hard for lower levels to do well in pking events. The lower levels allways get picked out at wars and ect.raising the requirement will help prevent that from hapining.

I think it's a good idea BUT we have to do it right this time. We have to let lower level members realize that it isn't about them being a low level, it's just about the clan as a whole needing to get stronger. If people don't want to train so much that they can't get 1-5 combat levels for the clan, then they don't have the loyalty to be in a clan in the first place. BUT if those people can get a few levels for the good of everyone else, the whole clan benefits.

In fact, rather than saying JUST the low levels should train, why not start a bit of a competition for the whole clan to see who can get 5+ combat levels in say... a month or two? Have prizes for the most XP gained, the most levels gained, or the biggest improvement overall. Good idea? I think we've done this before... my memory sucks tho.

edit: or just make it 105+ combat overall OR 100+ with 82+ magic.

its not like the clan can multitask. lol

instead of wasting time doing many things we can focus on one thing. recruitment. once we have recruits in then we can say. hey guys. time to get better =P
