yes

Not much i can say about it really apart from so many people smoke it already, why keep it illegal?

As for medical reasons Gorge, my cousin has tourettes, and through his life he has taken countless different drugs to help him, but the best thing to calm his tourettes is smoking weed. He will have a single joint 3-4 times a week just before he goes to sleep. It settles his condition like nothing.

Being around him and witnessing how tourettes can affect him, thats what make me see why it should be legalized to a certain extent.

As for driving whilest high, just have the same rule that applies with alcohol, dont drink drive... dont smoke drive.

Simples?

No i dont smoke, have tried it, but its really not for me, didnt like it at all, the taste made me gag lol

I get and respect what you're saying there...but I think calling anything a gateway drug is kinda a bs way of taking the responsibility for making poor decisions away from the idiot making it and placing the blame on a scape goat...in this case a plant. People make their own choices...any idiot who smokes pot and then decides to move on to harder drugs made that decision on their own...and we cant generally accept that the people we love are that stupid so we find something to blame. The pot didnt make them become a crack head...their poor decision making skills did, and that usually comes with them just not knowing how to deal with the stress or cope with the pain in life. Its an excuse people give for behaving badly when they can't man up and take responsibility for what they have done to their lives.

Exactly.
When people tell me it's a gateway drug I say the same exact thing.

If someone has any will power at all they should be fine not moving on to anything else.

To me it's the exact opposite of a gateway drug. Marijuana stops be from drinking or even trying anything else. I'm not going to lie, I still drink at parties. But a lot less then I used to that's for sure.

110% fucking hell yeah it should be.

Let's compare some statistics shall we. Both cigarettes and alchohol are completely legal, both considered drugs.

Cigarettes kill (I forget the exact number) approx. 200,000 people a YEAR.

Alchohol kills probably 100,000 a year from crashes, and other complications.

How many people has marijuana killed? None. It is non-addictive, impossible to over dose on, and the worst thing you can get from long term use is bronchitis. People saying that Marijuana is mentally addictive, I totally disagree with that. It completely depends on the users personality if you get addicited or not. As also mentioned, saying MJ is a gateway drug is completely moronic. Sorry. This is also completely up to the users personality. I never moved up to harder drugs ever.

I was a HUGE pothead in highschool. I smoked 4 plus times a day. Guess what? I graduated with honours and had plenty of friends. I also have completely cut back on how much MJ I smoke. I still do smoke but not nearly as much as I did in highschool (19 years old atm.)

I did not have ANY trouble quitting, no withdrawals, I wasn't constantly thinking about it, I just cut back and nothing changed.

I mean if the government legalised this...they could pump millions of dollars into the economy.

So yeah. That's my opionion. It should 100% be legalized.

Sat's are you worried about the price dropping for legal medical suppliers like yourself if the domino effect happens when prop 19 possibly gets voted in?

Kinda, but then again the buyer base will multiply by a lot if it becomes legalized.

Should marijuana be legalized? Yes
If so why, if not why not? My opinion is solely based on the fact that a higher percentage of under-age Americans have smoked weed compared to underage Dutch people. People work in mysterious ways, but I'm pretty sure the usage will decrease (over time) after legalization.
Do you smoke? Not any more

Article about Portugal 'decriminalizing' drugs (all kinds)

QUOTE
The paper, published by Cato in April, found that in the five years after personal possession was decriminalized, illegal drug use among teens in Portugal declined and rates of new HIV infections caused by sharing of dirty needles dropped, while the number of people seeking treatment for drug addiction more than doubled.

I don't see why politicians of other countries don't do the same thing. They've seen it happen, they've seen it succeed and they know about the history (Russia's policy on alcohol is a perfect example).

Should marijuana be legalized? No, except for medical use.
If so why, if not why not? It is addictive and making it legal increases the number of people who may not be able to control themselves with varying social and economic consequences.
Do you smoke? No

Yep, making it legal will also make it safer as there'll be less dealers lacing it with other shit.

Find me a dealer lacing pot and selling it and I'll blow you.
That financially doesn't make sense to them. The only thing that dealers might ever add to your weed is glass to make the volume larger. Guess what. You aren't going to melt the glass and OD on it. You might cut yourself or something.

Putting coke, PCP, any other lacing-substance costs a shitload more than the weed, buddy. It doesn't happen. People do it to their own weed, but trust me, they aren't going to sell you their PCP-weed for $10/gram.

I have no problem with weed being legal or illegal.
I don't care if people judge me for it, because I don't hang out with the people that do.
I smoked a ton of weed from last February until July 28, when I stopped all smoking 100%. It wasn't very hard at all, as long as you aren't watching people smoke weed in front of you all the time. I didn't even think about it very often, except when watching friends doing it or whatever.
Still haven't smoked since July 28, and it's easy. I'd say the only obvious change in my lifestyle was that I don't sleep as well anymore and that my memory is slightly better. I don't have the placebo effect of "feeling clean" or "fresh" or anything that some people claim after.

Anyways, it doesn't affect me if it's legal or illegal. I live in California, so that shit's everywhere anyways. A lot of people will still judge you for smoking, even if it becomes legal. The penalty is barely anything anyways. A small, cheap fine if you're over 18, as long as you're not carrying an ounce or scale with you, which is stupid to do in the first place.

However, I do think people owe their bodies and themselves certain respect. Responsibility matters. For drinking, smoking, and doing other drugs, people should know what they're getting into, be safe, and keep a sense of morality and love. As long as your'e not making the world a worse place, I back your lifestyle.

Should marijuana be legalized?Yes, I would prefer for medicinal use only (reasons stated below), but if controlled for 18 + that would be fine too.
If so why, if not why not? Well the way I think about it if you are going through cancer or if you have severe back problems you're stuffed anyway so why not take away the pain.

My reasons why I would prefer for only people who need to smoke it is because it does induce psychosomatic fits later on in life. So if you're not completely fucked why fuck yourself.

Do you smoke? Occasionally.

I don't smoke at all but I think it should be legalized, but with a catch: some kind of tax attached to Marijuana that you have to pay to acquire it legally. It'd never be enforced properly and I doubt it would work, but hypothetically if it did at least the government would benefit from it, rather than having tons of Marijuana sales going on anyways when it's illegal

I feel like I replied to this already, but I cant find my post so i'll trow in my 2cents.

Marijuana Legalization..

To start what a great subject to just talk about. I have smoked weed for 3 years, I have stopped smoking weed 4-5 times same day. I was just like "Ok, I need to quit for awhile." not because I thought it might have been damaging me, but because of how other people would have looked on me if they knew I smoked weed.

I was put on probation for 6months about a year and a half after I started smoking weed, This was the first time I quit and honestly, it didn't even bother me that much other than the fact that I was really bored not being high, I didn't physically crave the weed, I just enjoyed it when I could do it. Only those who smoke weed understand that weed isn't addictive because they see it first hand.

As for everyone complaining about taxes and price increases on Marijuana when it gets legalized, It is for the most part untrue. Medicinal Marijuana in California is about 20-40% cheaper than what I pay street price. I pay around 60 bucks for a 1/8th of Chronic or high quality weed, When if I bought from a dispensary it would ony be around 35 dollars USD to 45 dollars USD.

If so why, if not why not? I think that it would be smart to legalize and cultivate it to sell, people do it already, I personally smoke Marijuana, along with almost all of my friends. I do not let anyone know that I do this in real life. I would bet most of the people on this Forum have a friend that smokes Marijuana. It would be smart to legalize it creating thousands of jobs and selling it. Also exporting it. With the economy the way it is I think this would be a wise decision. I have smoked Marijuana for about three years now. I am in College, it has affected my grades in no way. Also I have driven under the influence of Marijuana, if anything it makes me more cautios, as I drive slower.

Do you smoke?Yes.

If so why, if not why not? Marijuana, in the UK at least hasn't directly killed anybody, however with the tobacco people accompany Marijuana with has done, hundreds of thousands infact, and millions directly effected by it. In the UK, the buds are grown around ground up glass, to increase the weight of it hence making it worth more money. This is worse than in those places where it is legal, as it can be controlled and regulated. At the moment it is drug lords, petty criminals and any tom dick and harry who need a bit of extra cash who are selling it. They don't care about peoples well being. If the Police/NHS where too enforce law upon it, and too regulate it and the sale of it, then 1. The government would make hella lot of money off taxing it (Helping solve the recession) and 2. Make it safer than it already is. /endrant.
Do you smoke? occasionally, haven't done for about 6 months. Not very appealing too me, id rather get drunk. (Drinking also kills more people, well more than 0 people per year but i tsill do it.)

Should marijuana be legalized? Medicinal use only
If so why, if not why not? Aside from it's medicinal uses, it is a pointless substance, what is the reason for it existing? What benefit do people who use it get from it?
