Well today we skipped yet another raid. I understand for people who have irl things going on, or the skill trials, but if you're online and on the warring list you should be at raids. This week alone, we almost had no american raid because a) leaders almost forgot we had a raid, and cool.gif we had a very low turnout. Now we skipped the gmt raid, and since I see no recap for an aussie raid, I guess we didn't have one of those either. I thought that was what the whole Megaraid thing was supposed to be about. Making sure that at least one of the raids per week got good attendance. I think our last actual megaraid was about a month ago. This week there was none, a few weeks ago also, and another week the megaraid was replaced with a war.

I look forward to raids every weekend as a way for me to just have some fun and do something different on Runescape, and maybe relieve some stress, but it just adds stress to my day when I have to remind the very people who lead raids that we have one in 30 minutes, or we have to invite friends to make 10 people, when there are at least 30 in the irc.

Before I get told that I shouldn't make people go to raids I get that. The megaraid is the only thing that does that, and it's one a week. That means sparing a tiny portion of time to helping the clan. Other than that there is no reason anyone HAS to go to a raid, but I think lots of people don't even know when the raids are, which is why I suggest making it much more of a point of posting and publicizing in irc and other WG secure places exactly when the raids are so the people who want to come know when they need to be on.

Honestly I'd lead a raid myself, but nobody would mass when I say to, and a level 102/108 leading a team is not exactly the smartest thing in the world. I know how to lead I would just need practice so I could get used to it.

Ever since weekly raids have been re-instated there have been way too many skipped because of lack of attendance, or leadership available. I say that we should:

1) As I said make sure everyone in WG knows when the raids are and especially Megaraids (and make sure we actually have a megaraid every week).

2) Train a few extra people to lead raids. They would be only used if no other leaders we online, and that is the only responsibility they would have. I know we have people in WG that are willing and have the knowledge to do this.

Discuss.

We have had major forum problems over the past week, our TS is currently down as Robbie couldn't have it fixed before the Aussie raid, and IRC was acting up yesterday.

Also with the skilling cup coming to a close today, and some people being behind in the skills, our turn outs are not going to be that great. Give it a week and I am sure things will straighten out. We just have had problems with communication.

Add that to the previous 2 PKRI's which were back to back week wise.

I understand that, but I have the raid times memorized because like I said I basically just wait for them all week. The two I can make are U.S. and GMT, and if one of those gets cancelled it just really puts a damper on my weekend. I'm probably a little biased, though yeah.

The IRC was having netsplits. At the actual raiding time, there were 10 people in #wg, so we had the raid later.

I've been against set weekly raids for a long time, and why is everything you've said. Im not gonna repeat myself, I've said my reasons a dozen times.

I do agree that we should have megaraids. I've wanted megaraids to replace the weekly system but thats probably not gonna happen.

Hmm...yeah really it seems that what would fix this is purely to do the following.

Whenever there are a lot of people on in the irc, a raid leader is on, and we have enough time for a raid, we host a spontaneous raid. That way we make sure we always have good turnouts. But yes I agree megaraids are nice, too.

I'm with Bto lol.

I think it may be fair to cancel raids for now... well maybe reduce their numbers, due to the Jagex Skill Cup.
We have to have trials for the skilling + combined cup, train everyone up with practices, combat training for the fight vs DF, AS WELL as fight DF in that CWA Battle and fight UBH in SC for the combined up.

^^ All in one week son ^^ neko2.gif

The american raid is at a bad time for me. It was almost 2AM, and the GMT raid isn't much better time wise.

I was actually hoping we could replace raids with pvp wars. Clearly, people don't think raids are important, that's why the attendance is shitty. We get better pulls to 30 minute prep wars than we do to 1 week prep raids.

Go figure.

Megaraids. Nao. hash.png

edit: And I somewhat agree with you Mickey, but I like raiding more than mini wars, so I like to have miniwars during the weekday or not during raid times, then still have raids. We did good last week as far as war go, I believe we had 3 in like 5 days? Dats gud.

My ideal set up would be 2 mini wars during the week and then Megaraid(s) on the weekend.

Everything you guys are saying leads me to believe that the best option remains what I think Bto was saying.

We should just raid at random times during weekends or when we have enough time, and there are lots of people in the #wg. That way any time we have a raid we get good attendance. That and one megaraid a week, which is mandatory attendance for anyone on the warring list, and I think we would have a good system.

I understand the fact that this week is busy, with Jagex Cup, and the forums and irc being offline for awhile. I've just been holding this in awhile, and I guess I got pushed over the edge this week. I've been looking forward to the raids all week since I've been on spring break, and it's disappointing that we have so few people even willing to raid.

I'm not placing any blame on any one individual, and please don't take it that way Mickey or anyone else. Personally though I like raids more because of the unpredictability factor, and it's more open to bringing whatever you want + choosing what you want to do as opposed to going by guidelines set beforehand.

Again. I understand it's Jagex Cup and Easter and all that there's no need to say it over and over. All I want is feedback on the raid idea.

Thanks.
