I have both those songs too. There is a new Bullet for My Valentine CD that I just bought. Haven't listened to it yet.

I love Flyleaf. I could listen to her for hours.

I'm a Nickleback fan. Most of the songs I love are explicit.

Red is a good Christian band. THis is one of my favorite songs.

Screamer band that is RC's favorite and I like is Underoath.

If you want older bands too, let me know.

I've only seen a few good suggestions so far, so I thought I'd put up some real input rather than "+1". If you like metal, then you can't hate the roots of metal, so early Sabbath is always a good idea(Ozzy on coke is just normal Ozzy, and he was better clean), but if you're up for some shred, check out Satch(Satriani) and Vai(Steve Vai). They will blow your mind.

Besides that, I'll say go with Zep since they're never a bad choice to listen to. I'll again say Metallica, but unlike some people, I like stuff after ...And Justice. The Black album is pretty heavy, although its not speed, like normal Metallica, and I like Load too, it was a pretty amazing album for being Metallica. Not much after that though except maybe S&M which is live and with an orchestra, lol... I don't know how you'll feel about them, but Van Halen is pretty good, although I hate DLR with a passion. Motley Crue is also iffy, but if you like Van Halen, I'd give the Crue a shot, along with Dream Theater if you're ready for like 20 minute epics. If you're not ready for those 20 minute epics, I'd check out Porcupine Tree. John Westley (Their guitarist) is a cool guy, and they're really sort of prog rock, but to me they sound a lot like Dream Theater packed into like 3 or 4 minutes, until like their last 2 albums.

I'll suggest Stevie Ray Vaughn if you're looking for some epic rockish blues. He is one of the best rock guitarists to walk the earth (and probably best to ever come out of my state). Anyway, besides that, I'll agree with Oasis and Coldplay from the post above me. I just recently started listening to Viva la Vida and despite their one hit, the rest of the album is pretty awesome.

Some good metal bands...

Megadeth

I fkin love you neko2.gif lol ok my opinion time

Classic Heavy Metal

1. Black Sabbath
2. Iron Maiden
3. Judas Priest
4. Megadeth
5. Motorhead

I'm not much of a Dio fan, but even after Ozzy left he still came out with some good stuff (Ozzy we're on about) like Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon, Mr Crowley, etc. Classic Sabbath is always great.

Megadeth and Metallica were pretty much the two definitive Thrash metal bands of the 80s, and Megadeth was the one that didn't sell out. Well, kind-of. But they got back on the metal style in the end. If you were to ask for a good 80s metal band that would be my first reccomendation - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying.

In Metallica terms I think the best lineup was Hetfield - Mustaine - Burton - Ulrich, because tbh Dave + Cliff kept it "METALlica". I recall an interview where Burton said "We do what we want, and if people call that selling out then... whatever." And then he DIED and they sold out. Don't get me wrong, they've come out with a few good songs since AJFA but nothing worth album-buying I'd say. Death Magnetic... on the Metal Hammer magazine they had a pic of James on the cover going happy.gif "We've gone back to 1980!". Lol have they fuck? Have you heard the album? IT'S FUCKING SHITE. The Day That Never Comes? More like The Intro That Never Ends...

As less melodic and more heavy as I can go ends on Children of Bodom and Norther, which border on melodic death metal. Rammstein is also one of Europe's greatest musical accomplishments from the 90s.

Motorhead is epic, the Ace of Spades and Bomber albums are best IMO.

I hate glam but have to admit Motley Crue have a nice guitar tone.

Umm... Dave Mustaine as a band member for Metallica was a horrible choice. Kirk Hammett blows Mustaine out of the fucking water, so I'm not quite sure what you're on... Mustaine then went on to form Megadeath, but he's still a drunk who's trying to copy everything that Metallica did in the 80s. They do have a couple of good songs, but I'd never buy a Megadeath album.

Staying on the topic of Metallica, I don't see how you can say they sold out, unless you mean their live shows because honestly, who's never seen a "sold out" sign next to a Metallica add. Cliff died and they made ...And Justice and then the Black album, and while the Black Album isn't speed metal, its still an amazing album if you listen to it. It is a little 80s, but some of the riffs are really heavy, like Sad But True, Holier than Thou, Don't Tread on Me, Through the Never, and Of Wolf and Man. I wouldn't recommend much Metallica after the Black album though, since most of it is extremely mellow, or just sucks in general. (ala St. Anger)

Out of the four speed metal bands of the 80s, Metallica is by far the best of them. neko2.gif
