I tried searching for this on the forums because I figured someone's done it before but I couldn't find anything. Anyway if someone did do it before I don't wanna bump an old topic.

Try to think of something you miss about old RS (whether that be 2 months ago or 2 years ago) that isn't "old wildy" or something along those lines. Can be as simple or major as you want it.

Then list something you think is a really nice improvement from old RS if you'd like.

Something I miss: When having a D-chain meant you were super rich
Improvement: All the new prayers

Try to be unique about what you pick and try not to copy someone else's.

Improvement: easier to extract real life details from female players thanks to words such as "phone" being uncensored.
I miss: staking

I'll just keep my mouth shut to "respect" your "beliefs".

When people say "old wildy" they usually refer to the old style of PvP combat, rather than the wilderness itself. To be fair, with the increased chances of getting the proper kill plus misc. valuable items such as corrupt, I could almost live with the new system (If a few more PvP worlds were added).

But what I miss most is the actual wilderness itself. Before BH, CWs, SC, FoG, the farm shit, Corp beast, etc. there was a lot of empty space of just... well wilderness. And you had little spots like the bone yard or the ruins with the two black knights in the poison spider woods (If anyone remembers that)... little things that had no real purpose except what you made it to be. And for me that kind of added to the mystery and magic of it all. You could actually wander into spots where there was no major landmark on the map, get a bit lost, and it would be almost like truly adventuring. Nowadays it's just overcrowded with minigames and shit everywhere you go. Every single location - the ruins west of bandits, the farm east of BH, they all have a purpose now, which ruins it to be honest. Not to mention revs could not piss me off anymore.

Other than that, I have to go a long way back to find things that I miss.

Back to the RSC days, actually. In Lumbridge in RS2, the graveyard is pretty much out in the open and loads of people are there for the yew tree and easy access to the swamp. In RSC though you actually had to travell down a sort of hidden passageway to get to it, and going down a back alley to a small and isolated graveyard has a more impressive feeling to it, than what it was today. I took some pics for comparison:

Coincidentally when I logged in on Kecooler on RSC/RSHD to take the pics, both my characters on both games were in the Varrock west bank laugh.gif On RSHD I just home teled to Lumbridge, on RSC I had to suicide on a guard dry.gif

Mostly it's little details like the jewel shop in Falador having 2 floors in RSC (Bad memory there).

In terms of good updates Jagex has released many with RS2. I especially enjoy Castlewars and other minigames, the resting function is great, and as expensive as PoH is, it's pretty cool. I think the best of all time has to be RSHD. I cannot wait to war or raid in fullscreen with those graphics, and I think that's the best thing that's happened since RS2 came out.

I miss selling to all the pk'ers at outrageous prices in edge. When I would do it just for fun to see how much I could get for a manta ray or a super attack. The trade limits really limit this type of fun. I loved Donnie giving me like 40 mil to go shopping for him and he would buy me a nice gift. <3333

I sold ppots 3 days ago for 17k and a rune chest plate for 70k. Sharks sold for 1.7k each. Yeah I enjoyed selling this stuff even though I had to wait between sales for the trade limit to come back up.

Things I miss:
    -The Old, basic graphics
-Maxed melee being an uncommon thing
    -Your achievements actually meaning anything

Improvements: Can't actually think of anything I'd have over the old RS.

I miss trading without the bloody trade limit
I miss the times when lumbridge would be full of people dueling and staking.
I miss being able to duel anyone anywhere on any world.
I miss the wilderness fights where you couldn't eat while fighting, and couldn't escape for 3 rounds
I miss all the hype about carpentry coming out that persisted for 3 years
I really really miss holiday drops, when they actually dropped it on the ground
I miss the bug when rs2 came out which allowed you to airwalk above falador
I miss the times when everyone was so excited when dragon long came out, and it meant you were loaded
I miss the times when skilling and merchenting (and dueling) were the best ways to make money
I miss the durial incident, that was exciting

I could go on hash.png

Improvements: Ge (to an extent), new skills, etc

I miss:
-When skilling made real money
-When certain high levels actually meant something
-When high levels and expensive items weren't so common and easy to get.
-Old trade limit :<

The sheer mysteriousness of it.

Walking through Lumbridge dungeon, you see "Your torch starts flaring!"
Don't know what that means. Get hit for a 15, and downed instantly by the swarm of bugs.
Getting pissed at that, and almost quitting.

Getting members for the first time. Adventuring and seeing the sights of the entire world is what I did first. I just miss the nostalgia in it.
That's all.

Improvement- The new graphics updates makes exploring new areas for new members so much more amazing. Brings more interest into the game.

I miss the times when a character with a Rune battle axe was legendary.

I also miss Zezima. Where has the legend gone?

I like the new HD graphics and the Grand Exchange

Dislikes must be the trade limits.. It killed the whole idea of merchanting for good
