Had an interesting discussion in business ethics today. Did some research afterward, and pretty much found out I fit the bill as a Social Democrat. I've always been the "I'm not anything I think this is right and this is wrong and I act on those beliefs" kind of guy but the correlations are very strong.

I'm not committing to anything in particular yet, but it's interesting.

So where do you stand?

PS: Social Democrat refers to a concept of Social Liberalism, sometimes called the Radical Center. They're interested in combining key aspects of the right and left in a mixed economy to create a functionally sound society. Depending on the country, Social Liberalism can lean a little more to the right or left than elsewhere, but in the U.S. it more or less stands for a capitalistic society supported by a more socialist framework / aka safety net. Kind of crazy, but it does make implementational sense (or at least, people like me think it does).

I'm a Liberal/Democrat.

I also try to combined the best of both worlds, in ways that would work well, so I might be a Social Democrat.

I like to think I'm not shutting out the opinions of the other parties in play, which is why I'm trying to find out where the "California College Republicans" meet each week, just to hear about their political views since I discredit anything Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck say, and to a lesser degree Bill O'Reily, while at the same time not really listening to Kieth Olberman and Rachel Maddow.

What was the name of the test you took to find out? I'd like to see what bill I fit.

I uh... researched them and found out I think similarly. ph34r.gif

Politics, religion, and money are destroying society? Curious, since all three and the fundamental reasoning behind them is the only reason we're all still around.

Political stance : Could give a fuck less.
Religion : Well I haven't been smitten yet.

Basically neither have a real influence on my life, I really could care less, either way my tax money is going to some fail who does nothing but look pretty, or ugly like most of those senate and house of douchebag fuckery morons. Because all they cry about is the same old shit, and it's really not doing any good for anyone.

Unless someone steps up and does something absolutely amazing that will catch my eye as a worthy person to sway me towards, i'm probably never gonna pick a side.

I prefere more of a simpler way of living my life, rather than getting caught up in the useless drama llama that is the government. Buncha Fuckin' Morons.

I'm a conservative and I think those three guys are all idiots. Well mainly Sean Hannity, and to a lesser extent Bill and Glenn. Glenn Beck cracks me up sometimes though.

But yeah I hate it when people base republicanism to those three and Bush who was a fucking suck ass republican.

And on that note I saw a guy that was the spitting image of Obama today cooking my food at some restaurant but he had an Italian accent lol.

I try to be pragmatic in my approach to politics, judging each issue separately as I find structural ideologies are often faulty. From country to country and from an issue to another, I'd probably have a slightly different political stance, but overall I lean to the left.

Meh, I think the world would be a better place if we got the first one sorted out and got rid of the other two entirely.

clarifying:

Politics: I'm American
-I would take this a step further and say I'm an Earthican, but I don't think that words been invented yet. I don't follow political parties, I am only interested in what is best for EVERYONE.

Religion: I'm Human
-I don't NOT believe in any Gods, nor do I really believe in them. It is my belief that we are all human beings, and we are all here on Earth right now. What happened billions of year ago and what will happen after we die is none of our concern, except when it matters for those who will come after us. We should worry about fixing our problems here on Earth rather than living to die in a way that pleases a figure that has never interacted with any of us. Live for humanity, not for God.

Political stance: Democrat/Liberal but I hate all politicians to be honest. Although some of them really piss me off like that Michelle Bachman retard.

Economic stance: Right now I would simply classify myself as anti-capitalist. Not really sure where I stand whether it is some form of democratic socialism/communism or...if I may use a Monty Python reference...an anarcho-syndicalist commune. tongue.gif

Religious stance: Atheist...yet to come across a good argument for the existence of any god.

If you guys want a good test search "political compass" and take that quiz.

My score on it was -7.75 (economic left) and -8.26 (libertarian) out of 10 on both sides.
