Hey everyone,

Trying to beat the crowed here; If you want to discus anything mentioned in the recent QA about the new skill, you can use this thread. I think we did get some tasty new clues; some hints certainly surprised me. All this information is gathered from the 'RS Content Q&A' on February the 11th. I'll update this if any further information is mentioned. Feel free to remind me if I forgot some.

New Skill:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- It will involve lots of skill. And combat. And combat skill.
- The skill is not going to be a combat, resource, production or character development skill.
- The skill is unique and not similar to another skill.
- It will involve all current skills!
- The skill will change the game this much *Fetzki spreads his arms wide*
- The New Skill will be the biggest update of 2010 (Obviously).

- The skill will partially be F2P.
- The new skill DOES take you beyond the current free map.
- Aspects of the skills will be good for Pures in PVP.
- It won’t have any impact on your combat level.
- The skill doesn't start with a ‘B’.
- Training will not be money driven.
- A ship is featuring in it quite prominently
- It's not Sailing or anything like that.

- No start quest.
- No other skill levels required for the skill.

- Some fagex Moderators called the new skill 'Awesome'
- One source even quoted that it hasn't been done by any other MMORPG's.

- It won’t be released this month (February).
- It will be released closer to the middle of the year than to the end of the year.


Not sure what to make of this:

Q: Will the new skill heavily influence/relate to the other skills in the game?
A: Yes and no. Sorry for the cryptic answer, you will see what I mean when it is out.

1- Salamanders, Commonly used at Barrows as a cheap multi-style weapon.
2- Falconry, Gaining spottier capes etc. which reduce your weight or gloves that improve your chance of thieving without being detected.
3- Imp hunting, if you are happy to swap worlds fairly often you can make allot from hunting Imps.
4- Grenwall Hunting, Required for extreme range pots and HUGELY profitable at the moment.
5- Familiars you get from hunting, particularly the Spirit Graahk/Kyatt which Teleport you close to the Nature altar/Piscataros Summoning Obelisk.

So yes Keanu, just because your skills suck too much to be able to make use of most of these things, does not make hunting useless for most of us.

spotted capes was already mentioned. But yeah there are quite a few things hunter provides you with.

It may not have the most options for you but it's quite a profitable skill if you know how and above all, there's still firemaking. tongue.gif
