Yea, so I feel kinda terrible. Its been eating away at me for a whole fucking day.

Last night at around 9:00pm or so and I'm on a date. We're like 20mins from the restaurant im taking her too and on a side road with trees and hills and shit. Next thing I know, 2 dogs run in front of me and I almost hit them, but I didn't. Its a German Shepard and a small Yellow Lab.

My date is like OMG you almost hit those poor puppies......but i didn't hit them(isn't that the important thing)

So I drive like 5 more seconds down the road and It hits me that there was no owner with the dogs. SOO I turn around, explaining to my date that I can't just leave them there, and I'm really sorry for interrupting the date. At this point, the dogs are already halfway up this big ass hill, with bushes everywhere and I'm trying to find where they are(i can only hear their collars, its dark as fuck). So after leaving my date in the car for 20mins, I got close to the dogs 2-3 times, they looked clean, but every time i got close, they would bark and run away from me....So......I gave up. I just thought to myself, well.....maybe they will find their way back home or maybe they are heading back to their home....So....i just walked away...

I got back in the car and she asked where the dogs were....i told her that the owner's actually lived up the hill and I brought them home, because I didn't want to just say that i gave up....I think she knew I was lying, but she didn't say anything.

Now I feel kinda bad about myself because I lied to her....and because I left to dogs out for the wolves. Where I live, there's a pack of 4 coyotes that runs around our area every few days or so....I honestly don't think the dogs lived the night.

So yea, i feel like an asshole and a fagot and can't believe I did what I did.
I just felt like venting, because I have this fucking feeling in my stomach full of guilt and self hate....

Really no need to beat yourself up over that. You tried, and you were on a date and they're just dogs, and who knows, they could've been fine. It's all right, no one could of done anything much in that situation.

Actually the fact that you even tried shows what a good person you are. If the dogs stayed together they had a good chance of surviving and I'm sure their owners would of been out searching for them.

The other thing is that animals have this way of finding help. I live in a very remote area and have found 4 dogs and returned them to their owners in the last 2 years. Basic instinct hopefully sent them to a house.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

You tried everything you could, how could you haul back two dogs through the woods at night? Maybe lying was the thing that makes you feel guilty. Don't worry about it.

No need to hit yourself for that Kiwi, don't feel bad, you tried, that's the important part.

Personally, I would definitely carried on driving and would have been like "They're dogs, they'll find their own way home." And they do lol, they have natural instincts, they've adapted to the place they live in and survival of the fittest and all the crap, God won't give them more than they can handle.

But where do you live? It sounds like some desserted town; I imagine this hill with this weird shack at the top with old people living there.

Give a fuck about lying to your date. If she was too fat to get out of the car to help you then I can't see the problem in farting back at her face.

The dogs.. It's sad but you tried and you should be proud of yourself. In the end some dumbfuck dog-owner couldn't take care of his/her dogs. It's sad if they ended up as prey but.. You did your best.

Don't worry about the date. If she doesn't care about the dogs, then she doesn't deserve to be with a caring person like you.

The dogs, you tried your best. They are fine. I am sure. Especially with 2 of them together.

Talk to her about it. Tell her what really happened, and apologise to her and tell her how you feel about it. She should understand.
