genetic home testing is basically using a sort of "drug testing" technology to test ofr deficiencies in your genomes to determine things such as whether you are prone to heart problems, cancer, and stuff like that. for example, I was born deaf, therefore it could be determined with one of these home testing kits whether it was genetics that caused my problem. and stem cell research is, well, taking stem cells form an unborn fetus, or in 70% of cases, from the umbilical cord of an already born baby.

some insight

im thinking of saying how stem cell research helped fuel the rise to genetic home testing...
or something

idk brainfart

compare and contrast both topics into an overview of what's to come. it dosen't have to be historically accurate as long as it has a reasonable basis from which it can be referred to.

ex. home kits + stem research = cloning or home kits + stem research = at home medical services

If you wanted to go in a slightly different direction, you could look into corporations that have copyrighted human DNA/genetic information, and why that probably makes those kits insanely expensive (I'm guessing).

But yeah, corporations legally owning human DNA is pretty fascinating.

I know that in my politics last semester we spoke about GMO (genetically modified organisms). You could always talk about what it would be like if humans started to become genetically modified and then just slide in to the whole eugenics crap. Boom, crazy argument right there.

P.S. Eugenics is what fueled the Holocaust and the Aryan ideal with the Nazi's. I'm just saying the more sparking the argument the better the paper, as well it makes for a more interesting paper over all.

Either way, good luck! biggrin.gif If you want to go with GMO and eugenics let me know because I have a crap load of notes as well as research articles on it that I can send you.
