My family (my cousins over in Canada...) have the rights to that film, so they get like a bunch of money from people using it every month or so... BUT!!!!! Those stupid Canadians never care to do anything.... They just sit around in their cabins up in the mountains somewhere... They don't even go to the copyright place or what ever to get their free money every month... AND NOW TO THE SUPER HUGE MATTER: That screen ^ from the bigfoot film was in the "new" batman movie "The Dark Knight" visable for like 3-4 seconds (in like minute 6 somewhere in the movie if you care to watch  )... And we haven't been payed by Warner Bros. for it... They haven't even contacted us. I only noticed it cuz I saw the movie myself and noticed the picture and looked it up, and it was actually from the movie my family has the rights to. "List of highest-grossing films: [#6 in the world] The Dark Knight Warner Bros. $1,001,921,825 - 2008 " Shouldn't we like get a lot of money for that? They can't just take the picture and use it in such a huge movie without contacting the owners... But the other thing is that there is no way to contact Warner Bros. or the executive producers of the batman the dark knight movie since they are too famous and stuff. Owners of popular videos can revenue share and have advertisements placed on their videos. Youtubers get $1-2.50 per 1000 views depending on their popularity and if they have a partnership deal. It's been freely available on YouTube for over 3 years now. Also, if the makers of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0191831/ acquired and paid for rights to use the footage by your cousin, they also have the right to give Warner Bros permission to use that footage for free. Either way, I'm pretty sure the biggest movie producing company in the world know their shit when it comes to copyright infringement. They have a whole team of legal professionals ensuring this doesn't happen. -------------------- Over 6 years of history and friendship, deleted over a difference in an opinion. --- Challenge any creationist to a debate. On a more serious note: What Steve said. That video has been available on the internet for a while. If everything you said is true, Warner Bros. may be depending on some kind of royalty loophole; for I doubt they would ignore such an issue blatantly, unless they were prepared. If I was you, I'd hire a lawyer and go all out for it. I have beef with Warner anyway - they're a bunch of assholes. I know a fair bit about the Freedom of Information and Data Protection acts, and my knowledge is that if the film is your property, they can't use it for entertainment/commercial and profit-based purposes like they are without 1- it classifying for Fair Use (which a film doesn't) or consent from the owner. This ^ Like, I didn't really understand what Steve said? Because like, the film was filmed by my cousins' dad's friends (My cousins' dad was like the worlds only fulltime bigfoot hunter lol) in the 60s. He then bought the rights for the film and when he passed away the rights where given to his sons (my cousins), who are like 45 and 50 years old now. Why would someone putting the video up on YouTube without our permission do anything? I mean, my cousins still own the film, they even have the original and all the papers and stuff in some cabin of theirs... Since they haven't been contacted about Warner Bros. using the image from the bigfoot film I guess Warner Bros. must have missed out on that or something, I have got no idea myself. I'm not making this up or anything, I know my cousins very well in person and stuff. I'm not saying that the film is infact a film of some real bigfoot. I'm not even saying there is a bigfoot. Like this is all I know. They own the film and all the rights to it. People might have uploaded it illegaly online, but still, shouldn't they have the rights to it? Should we like contact YouTube as well and get that fixed as well since you say there is a lot of money to be maid there as well? Anyways, the lawyer thing seems a bit too much for some private persons against a big company like that. If I could, I would just like to call Warner Bros. or something and see what's going on...
