      IRC Nickname: dieyou2000 Group: Elite Guardian Posts: 711 Member No.: 1300 Joined: August 28, 2008 Total Events Attended: 158    | I'm not going to go into all the details and specifics of what happened, but a combination of heart and other issues put my grandmother in intensive care about a week ago. There was a small chance that she would recover, have surgery, and go back to a semi-normal life. Unfortunately, that chance has not come to pass. The doctors informed my family today that there is essentially no hope for recovery. My grandpa, dad, and uncle have as of today changed the orders to keep alive if she codes to measures that are not as violent since these could end up doing more harm than good at this point. Tomorrow morning, the order will be changed again and she will be put in a comfort room. This basically means they will give her as much morphine as they possibly can, and unplug any machinery currently keeping her stable. The doctor said she will not last more than an hour off the machines. She wanted to be cremated, and the memorial service will be on Sunday. I will post again on this thread when I am leaving, and I don't know when I'll be back. I'll post when I get back also. --------------------   |

Currently, I know I will probably be staying in Chicago for at least a couple of days after the funeral service. I will have limited computer access later at night, and early in the morning most likely. -------------------- |
