I was clearing out my drawer a few minutes ago.
I found this letter.
Look at the date on it.

Lordy,

I hope this helps [$20AUD enclosed]. You will never fully understand how grateful I am that Joseph (aka Gundam) found you + WG in Runescape. He has been home schooled for years. This has been great for his social skills. There are a great group of people in WG!
He really looks up to you. I can tell you that as far as he is concerned you are awesome. We thank you for the endless hours you put in ( + the finances you are willing to invest).

Have a great day.

Please let him know when you get this

Penny Rizzi
aka Mom Gundam

--------------------

I think Penny would have wanted you guys to read this.
This letter is everything WG is supposed to be.
We take the outcasts, the people who are different, as well as the normal people.
We take away all the differences between us.

Those people that remember Gundam will remember he wasn't great with his social skills.
He was quiet and would often get into fights with people.
We still have a few members in WG like that right now.
But look at the difference we made.
We gave him something truly valuable for his REAL life.

WG is not just a clan guys.
We don't just hold RS events.
There's so much more to us.
We are a real family, and those of us that we may not get along with...
Well we still try.

Letters like Penny's offer us a tiny glimpse into the Guardian Spirit.
They remind us that through all the struggle, no clan will ever be better than WG.
I'm very proud to have spent so many years sharing these experiences.

Please guys, respect every member.
Gundam developed social skills in WG.
He later told me he'd finally started making real life friends.
I'm really proud of how far he's come.
Why did I not let him back into WG?
If you really want to know send me a PM, but it's personal.

Basically the message I'm trying to get across is this.
We have the strongest, most powerful community.
That is my greatest pride in you guys.
I'm asking that you treat all members equally, and learn to get along with them.
There's something special in this clan that will never die.
We have a mission to bring good times to anyone who wants them from us.

Stand proud guardians.

This a very awe inspiring post. I had thought about leaving the other day but I just thought of some of the great things that happen here at WG. Also I thought of the amazing people I have met since being here.

This is how I have felt about WG for some time now. Especially when I first joined. Sometimes I feel closer to my WG family than my IRL family. Actually..most of the time..

Perfectly put. Most clans exist solely for the sake of RS; we exist first and foremost as a community, and if RS were to die I think we are strong enough that we would continue as a clan.

I remember Gundam...I think I actually still have him as a contact on MSN. Pretty good guy, even though I remember us having a few problems with him on raids. He really did improve though, and I think the dicipline he learned from raiding was definitly good for him.

When I was first grounded from RS for a substantial amount of time my mom told me if I wanted it back that I should write a letter to her requesting it.

If any of you remember, what it turned into was an 18000 character, 14 page masterpiece.

She read the entire thing and the part that brought my mom nearly to tears was the end in which I included a testimonial section. 30 or so members of both WG and EH wrote substantial paragraphs saying what I had brought to them and why it would hurt them for me to not be allowed on RS anymore.

At that time I realized that my RS friends are not just RS friends.
They are people that have helped shape me into who I am today. They are not people who I will ever meet in life, but they are people who I care about as though they were standing in front of me living and breathing nonetheless.

Tmal you still got that? It was epic, and its true. This is a family, I've seen stronger bonds here than just about anywhere in the real world, because real world relationships suck! Here we have all the strengths of friendship and compassion without the drawbacks of having to actually be there and do stuff. It's amazing how it works out, but it really does wonders for people.

The computer it got saved on was stolen.
Although I'm sure my mom has the paper copy still.

Most adults dont understand how we waste hours on a computer
Some dont understand when you skip an event with your friends to attend an imporant rule (Rl>rs anyone)

But its not that
Its not for the game, its for our friends and our family
Whether we meet each other IRL or not, the bond will be there

Wow man.

I so agree with BTO, my parents can't understand why I spend countless hours attending wars/playing rs. They don't have a clue about the bonds we share, even if it over the internet. There is so many people here who mean an awful lot to me. wink2.gif

Gundam
I remember. Such a long time ago. I was with all of you back when gundam was so close and so active. Thats right. That is what true family is. We accept all.
We go through our rough stages but then we always come right back. As individuals we are many but as members we are a family

Yes indeed, Stand proud Guardians!

Whenever i get into a brawl with a fellow member, i think of things like this. If i disrupt something, i can cause that member to leave, and possibly others as well. It can also cause others to dislike me. I try to do my best to get it over with in a nice calm way. or try to crack a joke. Anything to just stop it.

WeeGee, be nice to your fellow members, they are you brothers/sisters/parents in another way. They are here for you to talk to, and here for when you need something. Don't let little things ruin this.

Just a few words from myself smile.gif

Actually Lordy offered to make a WG shirt but everyone said it would be retarded and we'd make a fool of ourselves and Lordy didnt do it. Maybe if you actually live up to what you say and we might be able to change that

Ah, what an inspirational letter. WG really is a family and about our members, we may not be the top fighting clan, but we sure as hell do have the best community. This is why I have never left nor will I ever until the day I leave RS for good.

Cost for...
RS membership: Five dollars a month.
RS memories: Millions of GPS
WG Community: Priceless
