60 total members.
Only 10% are under 105 F2P.
More than 50% are over 120 F2P.

Should we consider raising?

Consider the benefits of a raise, and consider the losses.
How will it affect, help or hinder us?

Just for discussion, I'm not suggesting anything yet.

Keanu, of all people you should know better.
As a historian on WG, requirement raises have been tried three or four times.
They are shit, mostly because the slight increase in elitism makes our community deteriorate, and all of a sudden there's too much focus on fighting.

Yeah I know Gene, I was there for the last two.
Hell, I remember half the trolling I got while they were raised tongue.gif
I personally don't want them raised, I like 100+. If put to a vote, I'd say no.
To me, 105+ does nothing, and 107-110+ or more is powerhouse.

I'm just looking to see what others think.
I also heard someone suggest a 70+ Mage requirement.
But then again, I'm 62 mage, so I'm out on that as well.

not that i agree or disagree with anyone, because yes level raises have failed hard - but now it's been years and the average rs player is over 100 cmb, so we're not really getting advantages from levels

I've always been for Req raises, nothing too crazy maybe 107+ at highest.
Yeah i've been here when the reqs were raised and you posted that 'I told you so' when we weren't doing as well, but can you really just push that onto the reqs being raised? There's a lot of other factors to consider.

Pros
• Higher levels ~ Yeah pretty obvious one, with higher req's our combat average will be higher which will do a number of things:

- More Appealing ~ We will look more appealing to people looking for clans. Right now with a 100+ req and average level of 117, we might be considered as a 'low level clan' compared to most other clans our tier which have 105-107+ reqs, and higher average.

- Better Warrers ~ This is more of a stereotype but is generally true. The higher the combat level the more likely they've been in clans, they know how to tank etc. And even if that doesn't hold true, having the extra levels will aid them in warring.

Cons
• Less Recruits ~ This really is debatable, though. As brought up in my first 'pros' point we will look more appealing to the high levels.
Well with higher reqs, we will be missing out on those applicants whom are 100-105 (or whatever level we raise to)

But really, is this such a bad thing? I mean With of course a few exceptions Most new members this level are the typical 'noob', gets koed in wars, doesn't really know what they're doing and really to just put it bluntly is just doing us more harm than good.

If they are really that commited to joining WG i'm sure they won't mind training up those extra couple level's.

Just a few points to consider, I doubt this will ever be done anyway so i'll just leave it at that.

In wars. But wars are only one part of WG. They could have an amazing contribution to the community, or be pros at non-PvP events.

I see what you mean Gene about it bringing too much PvP focus.

Mmm if the cons are us becoming deteriorated by a war mongering factor I believe that can be wiped. I'm around most of the day and I can help steer us away from some weird bitterness. I don't really want to raise reqs tho...

If not a combat level raise, would you consider a Magic req? 82 Mage, specifically.

Everyone of our members would then be able to blitz, or TB which will be very beneficial.

It's not too hard getting 82 especially now they made alching easier. You no longer need to time your clicks right, you can just spam click the alch spot while you're watching a movie or something.

Don't think a requirement raise is the solution here.

I've always felt that we should integrate a sort of "training regiment" to new members that join at the lower end of the combat spectrum. Nothing radical like 2 combat levels a week, but something like 1 combat level every other week. And keep this until 110-115 whatever seems reasonable. At those levels, getting those level ups really doesn't take a lot of time so 3-4 every two weeks should not be hard at all.

I also agree with Moose on the 82+ Magic requirement. We implemented a 70+ Range requirement which I think was a very good move because it meant that everyone would have access to the best range gear possible. It would give us an advantage during raids, knowing that every single person there is capable of maging in one way or another.

Being new to this clan, just what I think, I believe that without clan reqs being raised a clan could stay stagnant and will not encourage their mems to train, but then again almost all of the clans/teams I have been in have been combat based.

Raising combat reqs is always a step forward, as it shows that the clan is improving as a whole rather than as individuals, and of course it will screen the new applicants and thus come out with better applicants.
