This is the part in bones that allows them to grow. When it happened I was 15 and im still growing. Now a year later the growth plate has solidified and will not grow. This isnt good because my other leg is still growing. Its already 1.8 cm longer but it's not noticeable. I will be having surgery to 'arrest' the growth plate in the good leg so they both stay the same length. I wasn't really expecting this but I guess it has to happen. Luckily I live in Massachusetts and Mass General Hospital is one of the best in the world. They will be either killing the tissue or whatever in the growth plate or putting screws in to stop the growth. Going to probably be sore for a little bit and will need crutches. Nothing compared to when I actually broke the femur. I was in a wheelchair for 2 months and then crutches for anothe month, which really sucked. And even after it never felt the same for an extra few months. Now it feels fine and I find out I need surgery! O btw might be inactive for a few days after the surgery but i'll make an inactivity post when necessary. Well I guess just wish me luck lol.  ~p0p|Jake --------------------     | ||

I actually know someone who had a similar, if not the same surgery done. But it wasn't a big deal afterwards, he had to wear this soft thing around his leg so he wouldn't bend it for a little while, but I think he was fine. --------------------  | ||
Having Surgery =/, owch
