I figure the name comes from the 'recycling' of the space. So say you have a 5 MB file, you put it in the bin, and you've now got 5 MB of space again. --------------------   | ||

Even after you delete something it's still there until it's written over, you're not really doing anything by throwing away the file besides telling the computer it's alright to write new information over that part on the disk. --------------------  | ||
