So, we kicked off my anniversary with the Aussie raid. After getting cleared by Jaja several times and having to resort to solo kills and kids hugging safe, we ended fairly early. We started doing 76ks and I was on about 30% EP so expected nothing epic. When Gary gave me one for a few hundred k it dropped down to 10%, so my expectations depleted. He logged onto his level 90ish account and offered to give me another. I got this. http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5804/ja...01711504159.png Tripled my bank. If that's not one hell of an anniversary present... So after handing out 76ks to everyone, I sold it for 16m, bought back my whip, full Guthans, doubled my raid gear stocks and bought some useless shit like D legs. I have no skill with money at all ![]() Attempt one went something like getting to wave 40ish, then attempting to use Guthans on one of the 360s and getting 1-hit. This was a bad idea. I re-thought my inventory and brought more brews and restores. Attempt two went better. However I should have fucked Guthans and brought more brews/restores, because when I hit wave 63 I was down to 3/4ths of a p pot and half a super restore. It did not help that Jad spawned on my side of Italy, so I had mere seconds to react. I had never gotten to Jad before, but figured out the pray switches fairly quickly. I managed to get him to about 3/4ths hp. However, I was swapping prays too fast and not focusing on the sounds, which ended up with me praying range instead of mage and getting hit for 630. http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/4862/ja...01716561703.png I think that next time if I scrap guthans and just bring a couple p pots, brews and super restores I'll be fine. After a few hours sleep I had only an hour or so left to do something. No one showed interest in doing Arma GWD, I sought the advice of boss-hunting expert Stokenut, who suggested I do Bandos instead. So my first solo GWD (Well first GWD trip ever) began. I sold my Guthans and bought Verac's brassard+skirt and took a whip, regen bracelet, niet, RoL, glory, obby shield, sara cape, etc. basic stuff. Invent consisted of about 12 rocktail, 6 brews, 2 super restores, super att/str and a p pot. Yeah, I'd never been before so go easy. I didn't have much space because I had to bring climbing boots (Swapped for d boots for fighting), the rope, hammer AND a games necklace (Why didn't I bank? Dunno, brought a terrorbird along though). However, using my expert questing skills I hit the Bandos, Thermal, Sulphur and Salt water pools at Oo'Glog so was feeling fairly confident. I killed the level 47 hobgoblins for 40 kc and then hopped worlds for 10 minutes trying to find an empty one. I went straight in praying melee. Some guy had been in so the general was already on like 3/4th health (pro cheating ![]() http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8042/ja...01723524392.png Attempted a second round but ran out of food. Tele'd out at 280hp, and died in Varrock (thankfully). Nice to know Veracs AND REGEN BRACELET??? all protect over whip. http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/3418/ja...01723575201.png So that was my anniversary ![]() ~ Now for a tl;dr testimonial (wasn't the last part tl;dr as well?). I suppose you could call me a clan hopper before I joined WG. Well, 20+ clans in three years, undeniably. I think the record I've stayed in a clan was my last run in RBH, which was approximately 1 year and 20 days if I remember correctly. I got promoted to leadership and eventually got forced to step down (don't ask). Of course RBH was an epic community clan, and if certain events didn't come up that did I probably would still be with them now. But that's what I looked for in a clan - community. Sure I had a style of RS that I wanted my clan to cater for, but I've always wanted to feel like more than just another name on a list. I went from clans like TuneScape and Abyssal Guardians to Unknown Bounty Hunters and even attended some stuff with VR (Oldschool VR, with Milap/General Shop). But the only real clan (Apart from RBH, and my own which was made for that purpose) who truly catered for the community aspect with oustanding success was the Cutthroat Syndicate. I never got to join them, but when they closed their doors to Runescape in 2007, their leader Hunter22 gave me membership - just to say that I (A lowly level 90 clan friend who had attended some PKs and wars) had once been a Cutthroat. That says it all. I'm still a member of the cXs community, which is alive and well today, even after 3 years without the game. Then in mid 2008, I started losing interest. RBH was depleting (I hadn't been promoted at this point), cXs was dead, my clan was dead... and it seemed that there weren't any clans left which valued a sense of community. I dropped my 10m bank and prepared to leave, only to end up being thrown into the High Council spot of RBH, and then doing some things which I'm not proud of that resulting in me being forced out in early 2009 and left clanless. I'd become an enemy of the one clan that I'd called my family for 3 years. Fed up with the account, the clans, the drama, everything, I was prepared to leave RS entirely. Then, on a late evening while looking through my folder for my clan Moratorium's stuff (Videos, pictures, files etc.), I came across a document. It was a short conversation between myself and His Lordship, the leader of the Wilderness Guardians, and it dated December 1st 2007.
I can't remember what the second question I asked was, but it was more than likely about me joining. Although I was launching my clan at the time and simply looking for possible relationships with clans with similar values like honour. So I had no intention of joining at that point. Now, I'm sorry I didn't. Hell, I'm sorry I didn't join in 2003 when I started playing. So I looked up WG. Over the years I had seen them countless times. I was there when the Real Life meeting video came out to the clan world, my clanmates in 2006 would constantly be posting His Lordship on TS soundboards in our IRC channel, and infact I even saw WG in-game: during the Classic Clan Campaign. The coordination of the spam with Teamspeak really impressed me, and I got a rune platebody from the drops in Falador. WG were alive and well, having just defeated CR (If you haven't seen the video of WG vs CR watch it RIGHT NOW.) And so I decided to give it a go. However, I was fed up with Kecooler, my old account. I could have trained my first main Keiscool up, but wanted a fresh start entirely. You'd have to have known me to understand why, so I think Woof can best relate to how bad Kecooler was, and what a reputation I had gained. I did not want that shitstain on the name of the Wilderness Guardians. So in a moral sense, I started WG Keanu as my third main and my journey began on March 23rd. Of course, WG didn't understand and drama ensured, so I ended up joining The Sabres and a four month gap came into play before I refocused on WG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nw-58hAGL0 I hit 100 combat on October 16th 2009, applied the same day, and was accepted the next. It's shocking how far I've come in a year. WG has always been a clan of admiration, and not just when we were the top of P2P. Even in 2003 when ARPKing was original, in 2004 when WG shed first blood, 2005-2006 when WG dominated P2P, and it kept going. We're still one of the most organised clans in the clan world today, and top 10 oldest. We're a great clan, and there's no doubting it. In one year I've been promoted three times, and now have an original rank. I've been to two Real Life meetings with several more planned. I've shaken hands with His Lordship, shared a hotel room with Stokenut, deathmatched the leader of RS's oldest clan in air hockey, been to Runefest, met Mark Gerhard and the J mods, destroyed Sean Sabre in jousting, and much more in real life. I still have my WG pens and am wearing my WG T-shirt. I've gotten Outstanding Donor and Outstanding Contribution and am ranked #2 for real life funds donated to WG, second only to Gene himself. I've been privliged to edit the video of WG's first war, made our wikia, done scripts for the forums and website (Including the Tshirt page)... the list goes on and on and I don't need to boost my newly-founded ego any more. And I've changed, as a person. In 2006 I was a young, immature 13 year old with a lack of common sense and few prospects for life. I'm far from perfect, but in the past year I've grown mentally and matured to an extent where I can reflect on those times, see the mistakes I've made, and think with a little more common sense about my actions today. I also know I still have a long way to go, but now I can realise that and work towards it. You hear about how WG changes people like Gene and Gundam, and I've experienced - no, AM experiencing - that and can cite it to be true. WG has been one of the greatest influences of my life so far, and I'm proud to say that. WG is my family and home, and you've provided me with much more than I could ever ask for. But I'm not going to end on a "OMFG THANK YOU WG" like I normally would. I'd rather give... or say, something in return instead, so I end with simply this quote: Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. -------------------- ![]() [05:42] <+WG_Keanu> I think I got a semi just looking at the pic [05:42] <%kat> same

Personally, WG has been truly influential to me too. I have learned so much, not just about warring or clan politics, but about people and myself. Through my interactions with other clans, I learned how to deal with other people, and how to compromise, cooperate, and to disagree politely. At the same time, I learned you had to be firm and careful; every clan wants the same thing; for theirs to succeed, and yours to lose. Through my time as Warlord, I learned the qualities that seperate ordinary members from extraordinary members, and creative thinking. I learned that with every action, no matter how small, there is a result, and if you have a goal, every action you take must be towards that goal to succeed. As Council, I learned to tolerate people and listen. That as long as everyone makes an honest effort, they deserve a chance. You learn that you have to be tougher and more authorative, but not to lose what makes you you. You learn that if you want something to happen, being an idealist doesnt do anything. You have to want it, and you have to act. We have seen so many staff members with so much potential, that was never tapped because they never acted. I was one of them. When I became a raid leader, I was a terrible one. I served with Glenn as warlord, and WG was heavily dependant on him for our success. Other than ingame leading, I didnt do much at all. After he stepped down, and I had to step up, I knew that I had to change. However, most important lesson I've learned in WG, and ever since I decided I wanted to help, and it has been in my sig ever since: "Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action." -------------------- bto ![]() Ex-WG Warlord ![]() "It is our direction, not our intentions, that lead us to our destinations."

I really don't know what to say about this. I came in thinking "Oh great, another Keanu post", but after reading through it.. it's actually kind of heart warming. All the shit you've put up with for the past year in WG, and yet you stay as dedicated as you are. It's quite an accomplishment, really. I am honestly shocked you made it this long. Your determination in making this clan what it is and what you want it to be is truly amazing. You have received so much shit from the time you entered our community on Kecooler, then created WG Keanu, posting that news, and then taking all of the flames that came toward you. I felt bad for you and even tried to stand up for you a few times. Every -quality- post that you make shows how proud you are to be in WG and I honestly admire that. Do not think that what you do goes unnoticed, and please continue to do what you do. Without you, every day, every event, every war, would eventually blend in with each other. I am glad you picked WG to honor the way you do, because I honestly do not know where we would be at the moment without you. Thank you and congratulations on your first anniversary. ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

FERRIS BUELLER!!!?? Really well done mate, i share the opinions of others when I say that I really didn't think you would turn out to be this committed and this dedicated to WG. Like others, when we first met, I found you a little annoying, and I had no idea that you would turn into this amazingly kind person who I now consider one of my best WG friends. Nice story, man. I always like listening to people's history. I haven't been in many other clans - I found what I was looking for quite early in my clanning career (this clan) - so I'll take your writing as an indication validating my belief; that WG is special. WG seems to have restored your hope, and it seems you may have also restored some of WG's hope... specifically and especially, Gene's hope. As you may know, over the years, we have lost many respectable members -- members that helped shape the clan and subsequently become part of it. We always need members like that. Gene works ridiculously hard for this clan, and he continuously needs members like that. I've only become more active in the clan as of recently, but I was immediately impressed by your devotion. I may not be the oldest member here, but I've been here long enough to see members come and go... and I can easily say it's not often that we receive members such as yourself. But ~ the story's not over yet. It's only been one year, rookie. ![]() -------------------- --------- 獅の炎 ---------- ![]() ----------- 忍☯者 -----------
