I was surprised not to find a topic already so yeah. I watched it yesterday and I have to say that it's probably my favorite HP movie to date. It definitely was a good decision to split the seventh book into two movies in order to avoid cutting out significant events in the book from the movie, which worked out pretty well imo. The series has finally managed to evolve from the naive, young first movies into something truly dark.

SPOILER ALERT

I have to say I was somewhat disappointed at the fact that they blatantly ignored the scene where Peter Pettigrew finds that “guilt” inside him and strangles himself with his silver hand. And the part where Voldemort was supposed to appear in Godric’s Hollow after Nagini called him. On the other hand, the stimulation of the tale of the three brothers was perfect and I really liked how they told that story.

Overall, it was a good watch.

I just got back from it.

They left out a lot of scenes where it gave background and released tension.
The random romantic comedy moments between Ron and Hermione were decent and did give a bit of relief, but I would have much rathered to see scenes that you have said, for example, instead of the romantic comedy shit.

I don't know about a 4.5, but I can agree that it was not as good as I thought it would be. With them splitting it into 2 parts, I thought they would have included many more details in the first half. I am also not sure of the exact amount of book covered in each part, but I am hoping that they left out details in part 1 so that they can let part 2 be full with every single detail from the book.

But I don't that won't happen.

It was pretty good, I shed a tear or two when Dobby died (much to the amusement of the friends I was seeing it with!), but yeah they left bits out that they probably shouldn't have done :X

I'd probably say 8/10 or 9/10, because it was still pretty epic. I'm hoping Part 2 will be even better biggrin.gif

EDIT: Also, 100 posts, yay biggrin.gif I think that puts me as the most active member of the Clan Ally rank neko2.gif

I just got back from it, i thought it was pretty good.
It's literally the first film i've seen in over 6 months that I haven't checked my watch during, and that says something, especially considering the length of this one.
I thought it was good, well explained, exciting, funny in places, scary in others. Overall pretty good.

Probably my favorite Harry Potter movie. I thought they did a fantastic job sticking with the story. They can't put every little detail but they still did a good job on it. I was, however, having to explain WHY some of it happened since they didn't follow the story in the other movies.

I thought it was epic, fave of all the HP films by far i'd say, not read the books but hearing a lot of complaining about some parts they missed out xD

I guess my opinion of thinking it was amazing without reading the book meant I wasn't expecting anything or looking forward to any specific parts so yeah neko2.gif but overall I still lubs it <3

I cried too when Dobby died and I tightened my boyfriend's arm tighter as I partially hid my face in his shoulder.

There were several parts that were really intense, such as that part where Nagini attacked Harry and Hermione. I jumped a few feet from my seat with a little scream when that happened.

And yea, as I remembered it, they did leave out some parts, but I kinda know why they did as well as it was getting a bit long. Maybe they will include those as deleted scenes when the DVD comes out.

Overall, this movie was definitely a good one. I would give it 8.5 out of 10 and I'm looking forward to part 2 biggrin.gif
