It happens like once a year.
I get people to post pics of their bedrooms and show off their most awesome stuff.
I'm starting this topic because my room was recently redecorated.

Bed

- The purple was deliberately chosen because it was the WG colour. It obviously looked nice as well. The average person can't tell by looking at it that it was a WG influenced decision so we're all good.
- You can see the start of my music mural, which curls around the whole room. The piece is the best tune I have ever written, the "Waltz of the Dragons". That's why the treble clef is a bad-ass dragon.
- Hmm... on second inspection, the colour looks a LOT nicer in real life. It's silkier and more intense.

QUOTE

Mural

- It took four days to do. I drew the images onto large sheets of paper which I used as a stencil, then I cut out the stencils and drew over them with permanent marker. As mentioned above, the piece is the best melody I have thus far composed.
- It curls with near symmetry around my workstation, comes in through the window and out through the door, making it look like a musical pathway.

QUOTE
user posted image

Double Bookshelf

- They are a matched pair. The smaller one takes the A4+ sized books/magazines that the larger one with more shelves can't fit.
- There's an order to the larger one. Top shelf, fantasy. Second, other fiction, third, reference books. Fourth, non-fiction (hopefully you can't see *all* the titles lol... when a female friend comes over I have to cover some of them up). Fifth, books on music. Bottom, recording gear.

QUOTE
user posted image

Workstation

- As I'm a musician, the music keyboard is a vital part of my computer system. It's how I compose.
- Pretty much everything else is as you see it. The sheets of paper behind the typing keyboard are sheets of blank music manuscript, as I spend a lot of time copying musical scores.
- You might be able to see a few accessories. Graphics tablet, Runescape mouse pad (which I also have to hide when I have visitors lol), surround sound (some of it), etc...

Sorry about the bad quality (was taken on my phone), that's pretty much all that's good in my room. My two monitors look weird because one is wall mounted but the other isn't, I have a mount just cba as I'm looking to upgrade those monitors soon.

University room or home room? neko2.gif

University Room (please note: this was in October shortly after I had moved in, so there's a lot more crap around now, and more stuff lolz)

Noticeboard to the left, then bed (yeah!)

user posted image

Larger area of my room, bed on left, showing connecting desk with laptop, printer and draw space to the right:

user posted image

Desk close-up, printer, speakers, UNIVERSITY WALL PLANNER, audition schedule, picture of my kitty, university timetable in front, on the wall.
There is now, since December 5th, my gamecube (don't laugh pls), a TV with built in DVD player/external monitor as well).

user posted image

Right of my 'workstation', posters of plays i've been in/stage managed in the past, wardrobe space to the right of that.

user posted image

Wardrobe close-up:

[img][/img]

Bookshelf above the um desk/laptop thing. DVD collection on top (which is more than double that now, as more stuff has arrived from home. Lots more books both fiction, course-related and non-fiction, reference now too)

user posted image

SO that's my university room.
I may upload my home room later, but there's not that much stuff in there, as a lot of it is a l'université!

My bedroom is our living room. I'm getting it partitioned off soon, but for now I only get half of it really. Couldn't find any batteries for my camera, so had to use my phone dry.gif

My setup:
user posted image
user posted image

-Two 15" monitors, though I use one for my server (left, currently off), laptop would go on the right.
- Note the WG Mousepad... anyone remember? tongue.gif
- Ipod/radio & albums on the left, DVDs and so on the right (with Duracell myGrid)
- Pictures are WG on the London Eye and a sketch of me I got from Runefest

Bed side:
user posted image
- Table has random stuff like shower gel/bar of soap/deodorant
- My stereo + record player in the corner/speakers on the shelf
- Four of my five guitars in the corner (1 accoustic, 2 electric, 1 bass)
(The big case is a Gibson SG, not mine. Behind it is a didgeridoo blink.gif also not mine)
- Mixing desk on the top of the shelf hash.png I could build a decent studio tbh

Middle of the room is taken up by the christmas tree with the lop-sided star
Other side of the room has shoe cupboard, coat rack, some pictures etc. nothing special

Dallar:

2. I want your cool, long DVD holder thing supported on the wall - i ran out of space for DVD storage years ago neko2.gif
3. I thought you used to have wall-mounted monitors!

Ok Zeth, it's on.
Your music corner is fucking hot dude.
Love that large diaphragm condenser mic.
How much did it cost and what are the specs?
And what other recording gear do you have?
Can I see your audio interface?

I hate to admit defeat, but I think Zeth beats me by one keyboard, a trumpet, and a drum kit.
But I still reckon I have better recording gear tongue.gif

Well it's just a simple ADK A-51 http://www.frontendaudio.com/ADK-A-51-Mk-5...hone-p/1007.htm

Tested a few and heard a bunch of people talk about this one because it was like the best stuff for such a low price.

And I use 2 of these http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=7 ugly things. They're terrible but I bought them like 3 years ago or something, should get something new. Just bought them because they had all of the inputs since I used to mic up one of my drumsets (lol not the electric crap i have in my room atm).

And yeah, bought one of these http://www.samsontech.com/products/product...cfm?prodID=1994 a few weeks ago, it's pretty nice!

My yamaha synth there (not that old big keyboard) is pretty awesome as well, it's one of these: http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-i...esizers/mm/mm6/ , but yeah the old yamaha keyboard is good as well...

Had to buy a new mac as well because my old one was too slow to edit HD-film.. So I got an awesome Mac Pro with 9 GB ram and 2x3 GHZ quad-core intel xeon neko2.gif

Yes Zeth, I have guitars. Only three though.
Not that I play very well.

Liquid Saffire 56 Audio Interface has 24 inputs, though only 8 are XLR.
Rode K2 Large Diaphragm Condenser is my pride and joy.
Edirol R-09 is my portable recorder.
2 x AKG Perception 170 Small Diaphragm Condenser
Shure SM57 Dynamic Microphone
2 x Cascade Fathead II Ribbon Microphone which is uncommon for most studios. Ribbon microphones are awesome.
2 x Behringer C-2 Small Diaphragm Condenser which is a pretty average microphone actually.
And I also have two generic wireless microphones for live performance.
Let's also not forget the software - Cubase (the legit version).

All in all, a very respectable home studio.
Your move sir!

I must say you have some nice mics and stuff. You beat me there.

Not gonna lie here...
I'm not THAT much into recording gear and all of that, more into playing lol, I mean I know the basics though.
My dad is a sound technician and movie editor and he used to work with bigger films which got all the way to Cannes and the Academy awards and all of that so he pretty much has access to any gear i might ever need, so if I need something, he could just borrow it from what ever project he's working with, or like get it way cheaper than normal prices. neko2.gif

*happy spoiled kid face*

And oh yeah, if there are any guitar freaks here my dad also has some old guitar... A 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop... which I get to play on neko2.gif
