Combat Competition Rules and Winners

The WG Combat Competition is competition available to WG members that encourages the training of combat and combat related skills. It can be as competitive or not competitive as you like ie: you can train as much or as little as you want for it. It is completely voluntary and you will never be forced to sign up or participate in it. How does it work? The competition takes place aproximately two times every 5 weeks. The process starts with a poll being posted, which asks you to vote for which Combat Skill you would like to train for that particular competition. This voting stage will last for a short number of days and then it will close and sign-ups will begin. Sign-Ups are then posted and they a further number of days until Monday of the starting week. The Combat Skill to be trained has been decided by this point and so if you would like to participate all you need to do is post on the sign ups saying that you would like to be involved. As soon as the sign-ups end the actual period of training begins. It lasts for exactly two weeks, with your starting exps being taken before the competition starts and your ending exps being taken at the end. Finally when the finishing exps have been taken and the amount of exp you gained in the skill has been worked out, the three winners names are published and the competition is over. Now the next week of Combat Skill of the Week will commence beginning with the voting stage, in the usual way. During the week please take the time to host events to do with the weekly skill, so that people can train together and have fun. If the skill can easily be trained in a bank, please train it in Edgeville Bank, World 27!! Remember this is not obligatory, you do not have to do this! It is just a method to improve your skills and possibly enable you to win some nice gps! This is a topic to remember the top 3 people who have gained the most experience in the chosen skill during one week for each combat competition that we have had so far. Well done to everyone who is listed below!! What are the Rewards? Entry into the Lottery: For every 200k exp you gain as part of the competition you will receive one ticket for the lottery for free. At the end of each competition the names of those who have gained tickets, and how many tickets, are collected and one name is selected at random. That person will win a prize of 2 million GP. You can collect as many tickets as you are prepared to train for. There is no limit. Event Attendance: Event Attendance is very important in WG. It decides if you are active enough to be promoted, to earn Member of the Month and since this is a week-long event (as such) then it seems fair that you should be rewarded with attendance points, based on how well you train. So here's the deal: 1. Every week an attendance requirement is set, a certain amount of exp is decided and if you achieve this amount then you get one attendance point! (Obviously this exp requirement changes for every skill, since some skills are easier to train than others) This is known as The Lower Tier. 2. Secondly another exp requirement is said. This is set for a much higher amount of exp in the chosen skill. This exp amount is designed to take many hours to achieve, but for all your hard work you will be rewarded with two attendance points. This is known as The Higher Tier. The Winner's Badge: This badge will only be awarded to the winner of the competition and it will be awarded until another winner has been chosen in the next Combat Competition. Here is the badge you can expect to receive if you win: Your Name on The Winners' List This is as simple as it sounds. The Winners List simply contains the names of the top three exp achievers for every WG Combat Competition. Your names will remain here for as long as this scheme runs, so this is a long term thing. What are the Benefits? There are a number of benefits that come about as a result of training with the WG Combat Competition: You will grow to achieve a higher combat level= more respect You will not get ko'ed so easily at wars You will be eligible for the 120 F2P and 126 F2P Combat GuardianScore badges Your side-bar profile will look uber sexy with a new shiny badge! You will be a higher combat level than His_Lordship Havochaha will stop bothering you and asking you to train So as you can see there are many benefits and this is why you need to get involved with the WG Combat Competition!
