Decided I need to stop sitting on my butt all day when i’m not at work and excercise.

My routine will be a simple one day cardio one day full body workout constantly, no breaks.

Starting weight: 104.2kgs

This is just so I can keep track.

Tips and advise would be nice wub.gif

Day 1

Went smooth after my full body workout, a few pains.

Now here comes the running for today

Day 2

Went for a run in the rain. Ran about 50% of it, switching between sprints and jogging. Got wrecked towards the end so I walked for about 1km and finished off on a slow jog. Got home and could only manage one set of 20 sit ups neko2.gif.

Day 3

Weight workout

Upped my weights even though its too soon, going for muscle mass first not muscle definition.

Already getting used to the idea of exercising daily for 30-90 minutes. Hoping to increase my workout time from 30 minutes (my goal at the moment) to 90 minutes within a week or two.

G T L.

Yeah 104kgs is quite heavy. Im 186 cm - so like 6"1. My BMI is 30.1 so technically I am obese. After taking off footy and binge snacking I packed it on.

No excuses this time. I just went for a run in the rain and i'll do it again biggrin.gif

I'm only 18. There are 6 year olds who are fitter than me, any tips on how to keep motivated and maintaining the workout or anything is much appreciated.

if anything, stay on dirt trails because your knees will appreciate it a lot. Run more and more as you go, i started at 2miles for the first week, then at the end of the week i had a long run, which would be (normal amount) +2. every week you want to have atleast one day off, and one day that u run more than normal. once per week at least, you should raise your mileage. Avoid injury by icing sore muscles.

best movitvation for now would be a friend to do it with...the beginning is always the hardest part. Later on it will become a routine, the changes you can actually see will be enough of a motivation to keep going.

if you need any advice just pm me.

Wow your weight and height are very similar to mine neko2.gif I'm about to start the same thing as well, been travelling between mackay and townsville alot, but that's about to stop after my GF drops some japanese exchanges off this weekend and i get a proper routine going on. There's nothing worse then feeling your muscles fade away.

My first tip is to be careful of going full force into exercise as a method to lose weight. When you start burning more calories you will binge if you don't have control of your frustrations.

Just remember every time you turn to food to fulfill your frustration and build up your ego, that all has calories. So even if you eat when no one is around the excess poundage is there for the world to see.

Overeat 3k calories then you gain a pound. If you have any idea of what it takes to exercise off 3k calories you simply won't want them cause it's not worth the hassle of getting them off.

I ate 9k calories extra in cookies at Christmas and gained 3 lbs. I'm still struggling with it a bit. I take them off then they want to creep back on me. ATM I'm like 1 lb still up so I'm working at it still. But I watch myself very closely.

Second tip is keep a menu and exercise log. It helps to know where you are at during your days and you can look back and see what gave you a successful week.

Good Luck and it's hard work to be fit.

Rachy

The tought of getting 6-pack and looking good is keeping me motivated.

Thanks a lot man, I was looking for a diet but I couldn't find one. I think I might cut that down a bit as i'm not doing complete weights but a lot of cardio.

Good job Zooby, proud of you.

I don't know if you know this but after Christmas last year, so February 2010, my mum and I went on a mission to lose weight.

I lost a total of 3 stone, so thats 35 lb and aprox 16 kg, in about.... 3 months ish.
The first week I lost 6 lb, but after that it got slower.

I didn't find it hard at all, maybe because I was overweight...

Anyway, the way we did it, my mum and I, was by calorie-counting, yup I didn't do any extra exercise, mainly because it was nearing exam time and i had very little extra time.
But still, we just counted calories, ate low cal lunches and stuff and it came off relatively quickly and we both continued because we were doing it together, so we had that motivation.

Also, as Rachel said, when you put on some after you have lost it, it really is very much more difficult to get off.
I am still over the weight I was before Christmas, and we're now in march, so yeah it's difficult neko2.gif

Good luck Josh, wub.gif

Good on you for going and doing something about it, im a sporty person and you need the mentality to lose to pounds.

Remember no pain, no gain. It true, you gotta push the limits if you wana make it to any sort of target otherwise the target was too easy

Gud luck bro biggrin.gif

Small edit: if you already have the weight and you are looking to lose dont even think about eating protein shakes and eggs and all that, all that does is form muscle which in turn will create more fat as you already have too much fat on your body, if you know what i mean

Ooh nice. I can give a couple of tips, if you want. I built a mini gym in my home that has got the works, everything from treadmill to bench press to pull up bars etc. Been going hard for about a year and a half.

My routine is

Monday: Shoulders/Chest (Pecks)
Tuesday: Abs
Wensday: 1 hour of cardio (treadmill)
Thursday: Arms (Biceps)
Friday: Mixed Workouts. I'll do 3 sets of 10 differnt excersises targeting 6 diff. muscle groups.

Saturday and Sunday are also cardio days.

After every workout (that isn't a cardio day) I jump on the treadmill for 20 minutes to finish up. Then I go for a nice protein load. Tons of people prefer protein shakes but I like getting it the natural way. I usual have 2 chicken breasts which pack 30G of protein, EACH. Chicken is realllly good because it's lean meat. Low fat, low calories, tons of protein.

I wish you best of luck dude. It took me about a month to start seeing results and after 6 to 7 months I had a nice 6 pack and muscle defention had improved greatly.

Zooby, you can do this. Get back on track and don't look back. Keep saying that to yourself. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are looking better every time you lose. Every time you gain remind yourself that you don't want to gain it back.
