I downloaded an album and the songs are 1411kbps which is great on my computer but I want to put it on my mp3 player and half a gig for an album is too big to put on my mp3, does anyone know how to reduce the quality?

I've tried finding a lower quality version of the album but can't, the album is Magic Sam - West Side of Soul, if anyone could ever find a lower quality download that'd also be perfect :>

Download Foobar2000 from here: http://www.foobar2000.org/

It will do exactly what you want and more if you want it to. Probably one of the best free audio mixing tools I've found.

Just add the files, select them all, right click, convert, choose MP3 as your output format and you should be good to go.
