Next was a change of career, money was shit, and job was shit too so I resigned. Now I'm working as an Analyst for Santander, job is really interesting and it's in this field I would like to stay, but for more money of course. I'm planning on training to do a PGCE (the qualification that you need to teach in the UK) after my degree, maybe at secondary level... maybe primary, i really don't know. I'm currently doing lots of work experience in different schools + with different ages to find out. If I do decide to become a teacher, it will be because I enjoy working with children. I don't really know why I want to teach... but I guess it's because a lot of kids are so full of life and it would be cool to impart knowledge to others!  For me. Enjoyment > Money. (at that level)... i mean i'm not saying i'd work as a volunteer and not get paid because I enjoyed it... there's a line/balance. Money is ... important, but not lots, enough to get by if you will, it'd be horrible, in my opinion, to be stuck in a job I hated, even if it was for the money... --------------------    | ||

Personally I chose my job (and hence degree) because it was a subject I loved during school and it is one that is in fairly high demand which is always good. I did find the specific branch of work that Im doing (I'm currently a GIS Analyst) through a version of paid work experience that I have done for the last 4 summers and that is probably what has shaped my degree so far. It's not a career that is considered hugely high paying or anything like that, but it is one that I can see myself enjoying as well as being paid enough to be able to have a nice lifestyle. In general though I would say no University degree would gaurantee someone a job that is going to make them 'millions' or anything like that, to get into work like that you've really got to be have one of these:
