Intro
So lots of people complain they don’t have any money so I thought I’d try to help
Basically flipping is a short term investment in-between the GE updates. Normally while flipping I’ll go and train Dungeoneering or some other skill you can take a break from after a while to refresh your GE offers and make some extra money.
What I’ll go over are some things that I know about the GE and some items you can try to make some money off

The two types of flipping I’ll go over for now: active and inactive and generally the more money you have to start off the faster you can make more profit.

Inactive Flipping
This is when you put an offer in and then go away to work/school/sleep. As you are not around you should aim for a bigger profit margin and can use the GE update to get a larger profit if you know the price of an item will rise next time.

Active Flipping
This is where you are actively there to adjust your bid in the GE for your item. It is much less risky as you can make a smaller loss if you see an item not selling and the price drops. With active flipping you make smaller profit per item however as you sell a lot more items you can make a greater return. Active flipping now relies on overcoming the 4 hour GE limits which were updated after free trade.

4hr limits and overcoming them

So many people have been stuck wanting large orders of bones/skilling supplies and had to ask friends or wait 4 hours to buy them, however with flipping since the free trade update you can overcome them.

The way the GE works, when you sell an item it takes that item back away from the limit. This allows you to re-buy that item allowing you to make more money again.
So if you buy 10 Dharoks helms and sell 5 of them, you can re-buy another 5 while waiting for the other 5 to sell.

This also works when buying broken barrows armour and selling fixed, however doesn’t seem to work buying uncharged glories and charging them.

Another important way you can manipulate the GE limits is if you have a larger number of an item you’re going to flip and you sell them, the limit for the amount you can buy is reset. For example if I’ve collected 30 dharok’s helms and can currently buy 10 more as you haven’t reached your limit. If you sell those 30 your new buying limit would be reset to 40.
This allows you to either have longer between having to resell the item in GE or you can reduce your profit margins a bit and sell a lot more of the item

The GE
The GE works as a queue system. If you buy an item for a stupidly high price or sell an item for a stupidly low price you go straight to the front of the queue and sell your item or the highest bidder/ buy your item from the lowest seller at the time. However a lot of the time people are buying or selling at the same price. This is where you get put into a queue. The way the queue works is kinda gets complicated and I don’t really want to completely understand it to be able to explain it.
But the tip from this is when trying to buy a large number of an item that is high in demand use a number of slot/boxes of your GE to help you buy an item much faster as you take 2 slots in the queue rather than one. The same applies to selling an item in the GE, if you use more slots for selling your item should sell faster.

Choosing items & looking at the graphs
Any item can be flipped and the best item changes due to supply and demand. To figure out what item could be best is down to experience and looking at the GE graphs.

I will update this later

Choosing prices and profit margin

So your profit margin is the price you sell at- the price you buy at. You find out how you can make the most profit/hr by trial and error and finding out what other people are buying/selling at.
For items that are high in demand you can find out what price they are buying at by putting an offer in much higher than mid and then selling the item for much lower than mid then undercutting your competitors in both regions so you are constantly buying/selling. If your items stops buying or selling recheck what your competitors are doing and then readjust your prices, wait for them to finish buying or change item if profit is too low.

For items less in demand you need to go buy trial and error, and adjust your price marginally as you go along changing it until you find a good profit margin where the items are buy/selling as fast as you want. The main way to do this is by checking the GE graphs to see what they did last update and checking against the graph to see if the item is dropping/rising/stable and adjusting your starting price accordingly. Once you find the prices you can use this info to predict the next GE update and you can stock up on an item. This has always been one of the best parts of buying broken dharok’s helms for me, as you know/realise the price of dharok’s helms fixed is going to rise however the price of the broken helms is still going to fall next GE update as most of them are still selling much lower.

Some examples I’ve had

Example of lower end flipping you can do with 1m+ but more would help so you could be less active
Made 175k in an hour off 26m while doing this guide, not much but it’s better than nothing.

How I did this
Firstly I found the maximum price at the time someone was selling at I forgot to take a screen and it was at 1060 so I undercut that price by 2gp to sell faster as an example, however now.

And the lowest price someone else is buying at is 1050 so I bought at 1051

And then you buy loads, sell loads and make some money. You could probably make a lot more money out of this flip than I did.

Top tip
never spend all your money on skilling it makes it much harder to restart make sure you have enough cash to keep making money before you spend it all. I have spent most my money before and although it is more fun you can make much more money if you start out with more money

What I am going to update/add
GE Graphs
GE updates
List of items

This is a great guide.

There are many good items to flip but keep in mind the more you flip the the more you fuck with the market, so try to only flip commonly used items.

Items that are good:
Bolt Racks (shit loads)
Blessed spirit shield (4 per 4 hours?)
Pharohs sceptres uncharged (10 per 4 hours)
Uncharged glories and RoW (100 per 4 hours)

You can't really fuck with the market too much you need a load of money/people to be able to do that, enough people do it. I'll try to add a table of items and item limits soon. I just stared off with barrows Armour ages ago then glories and ranger boots and then dharoks helms for ages. On the weekends dharok helms work really well as more people pk and can't be bothered to repair them so you get a nice supply coming in and I've made over 20m in a day using them.
