You walk down the dark alley, glancing to your side, knowing that some evil business is about to take place. You pull out your knife, as the hairs on your neck rise as you get the feeling you are being followed. Suddenly, you turn around, only to see a gun pointed between your eyes... A cry of death looms through the city and quickly fades away in the cold black night. Welcome, to MAFIA. What is MAFIA? All brave souls looking for an adventure, whether it be murdering in cold blood, or hanging the guilty, are welcome to play. This is a game of chance and skill, where you try to eliminate the opposing team before you yourself are killed. This is a fun game and it works well with groups on forums. How to play: First check out these sites to understand the basics: MAFIA basics more basics We will be playing by IRC rules, which is a little different. Basically, the game starts when we have around 10+ people. When the game starts I will pm you your role. After you know your role, we begin with night. During the night, each team gets to make a move, explained in detail in the roles. During the day, the result of their moves is made public. At the end of the day, the town votes to hang one person by a mjority. After that, it is nighttime and the process is repeated. The Roles: You will be randomly assigned one of the following roles Civilian Side: Civilian- This is the majority of the people in the game. Civilian cannot do anything during the night, however they help vote who gets hanged during the day. Detective- The detective is trying to find and kill the mafia and killer. During the night he can either kill someone or he can check someone to find out what their role is. Doctor - The doctor chooses one person during the night (cannot choose a person more then once in a row) and during the day that person is protected form one attack. Mafia Side: The Mafia members are aware of who the other mafia are. Head Mafia- This person chooses one person to kill during the night after consulting with the rest of the mafia. Other Mafia - The other mafia are given a number so if the Head mafia dies, Mafia 2 takes over, then Mafia 3 takes over, and so on. When not the head mafia, they give advice and try to avoid being hanged. Other Side: Killer - The killer is simply trying to kill everyone and be the only person remaining. During the night he chooses to kill one person. More roles will be added as needed. Other Instructions: + The Mafia will be told who the other mafia are + The detective does not know who the doctor and civilians are and must find out for himself + You may not reveal your role at any time. + It is extremely important you communicate with your team. The mafia should be talking with each other through IRC or TS whenever they are on together. The detective should be talking to the civilians once he starts finding out who is who. + Every hanging you need to post who you would like to kill, feel free to post your reasons why. +This may seem really confusing, you will get it after a couple of rounds and it is a lot of fun.
