1.Intro
Welcome to my guide on how to get the fire cape and some of the best and easiest methods to do so.
The reason i've took the time to mess around with a guide, is because people still ask me what to do, how to do, and what method i use. Oh and because i'm bored too. When i got my first fire cape back in September 2006, after my 4th try? It was still a rare cape to see, i had people asking me constantly how i did, what i used, what did i kill first. I always said i'd make a guide but never got around to it, so here it is in all it's glory, hope you guys and gals like it. =)

2.Requirments.
Ok, to even be able to do this you need to have a few requirments, stats wise and these are;
The minimum requirements:
43+ Prayer for protect melee.
70+ Range for the use of black dhide and the bows needed.
70+ Defense
70+ Attack
70+ Strength

Recomended stats:
60+ Prayer
80+ Range
80+ Defense
80+ Attack
80+ Strength

3.Equipment and inventory.
Ok, first i'll start off with the gear and inventory i find is the easiest and quickest to use, i'm not saying this is the only way to do this.
user posted image

The reason for the whip and defender is; it makes the job in the fight caves so much more easier and quicker, however it's not needed.
This inventory consists of;
x3 Ranger potion (4)
x3 Saradomin brew (4)
x17 Super restore (4)
x1 Shark
x1 Crystal bow fully charged. (Take x bow with 2.5k racks if you find it cheaper OR rune c'bow + 500 emerald/diamond bolts.)
Abyssal whip.
Rune defender. (You can use dragonfire shield OR the next best thing.)
Full guthans.
Karil top and bottom OR Black d'hide top and bottom. (Amradyl if money is no issue.)
Archers ring.
Amulet of fury. (Or the next best thing.)
Barrows gloves. (Or the next best thing.)
Rangers boots. (Or the next best thing - Dragon boots.)
Skill cape. (Or the next best thing.)

4.Alternative gear, slightly cheaper gear.
Inventory and gear picture.
user posted image
All the potions on the above picture MUST be 4 dose. This inventory and gear setup consists of;
x17 Super restore
x8 Saradomin brew
x2 Ranging potion
2 Fully charged Crystal bows.
Verac helm
Verac skirt
Amulet of fury
Ranging boots, you can subsitute these for dragon boots.
Barrows gloves, or the next best thing.
Skill cape, or the next best thing.
Archer ring, this is optional but not needed.

5.The map of the fight caves.

Colour key:
Red: The red lines mark your safe spots from the 180's and level 45's.
Blue: The place to trap 180's 360's and the jad, this is also known as the italy rock, where you may spend most of your time fighting.
Yellow: Possible Jad spawn locations. (just hope it doesn't spawn in the middle or you'll have to do with fighting it with no safe spot.)

6.Pictures of the safe spots within the caves.
The Italy Boots safe spot;

Next up the northern safe spot;

Now if you can't trap them in any of the above safe spots do this;

7.The different monsters inside the fight caves.
First up we have the level 22 fire bat.
user posted image
Hit points: 10
Max hit: 4
Tips: kill it first out of any wave, drains your prayer, even if it hits a 0.

Next up we have the level 45 Fire blob. (my own random names ftw.)
user posted image
Hit points: 20
Max hit: 7
Tips: This monsters first form acts as a ring of recoil so to speak so, leave this one until last in any wave, great to heal on since it goes into two level 22's.

The level 22 little fire blobs:
user posted image
Hit points: 10
Max hit: 4
Tips: same as above, leave 'till the end of the wave to heal on.

Next up we have the level 90 hunch backed rangers.
user posted image
Hit points: 40
Max hit: 13
Tips: Always kill these at the start of the wave, they're the most annoying since they hit quite often and can attack at long range off the screen.

Next up we have the level 180 reptile monk things.
user posted image
Hit points: 80
Max hit: 25
Tips:Trap these and kill them with range for the easy option, or just go melee them.

Now we have the level 360 four legged mager.
user posted image
Hit points: 160
Max hit: can hit up to 49 with mage and low 40's with melee.
Tips:Stay away from it's melee attack and pray mage the whole time until it's dead, kill with range.

Now the one most people struggle on, the level 702 Jad ze daddy of the caves.
user posted image
Hit points: 250
Max hit: it can hit 99 in Mage, Range, Melee. It's not often that it hits high 90's but mostly around the 50 - 70 mark if you do mess up on the prayer.
Tips:Stay away from it's melee attack, and watch it's moves carefully and don't panic when pray switching.

The healers:
(NO PICTURE)
Level: 108
Hits: around 50
Max hit: 15
Tips:See the tips at the bottom.

9.The effective killing order of going through the waves.
For instace if you're on say wave 58 which has these monsters; 360, 180, 90, 45, 22, 22, i would stick on guthans with whip and defender or spear, and kill the two level 22's then the level 90, trap the 180 and kill the 360, finish off the wave by killing the 180 and heal on the 45 and two 22's it goes in to to finish the wave.

Killing order:
First: Fire bat (22)
Second: Ranger (90)
Thrid: Mage (360)
Fourth: Melee reptile (180)
Fifth: Fire blob (45)
sixth: smaller fire blobs (22's)

Kill them in that order and you'll be fine, use either range or melee to kill the 180, i find it easier to melee it.

10.The Jads attack stances and how you can tell what move it will do.
Magic attack: Since the updated fight caves have been released they have changed his mage attack, he now only lifts one leg up, and kind of slides down on the floor.. however the easiest way to detect the mage attack is to listen out for it. Switch to protect from mage.
Range attack: His range attack shows him quickly bringing down his front two legs, smashing them into the ground. Switch to protect from range.
Melee attack: One of his legs will lower down as if he's kneeling down and will head butt so to speak. Keep out of range at all times!

If this helps you i have a picture of the range attack:
user posted image

The magic attack is by far the easiest to protect against, slap on the sound effecs and listen for a dragon breath type sound, however there's no sound for the range attack so you must watch his feet at all times, once he's lifted his legs up to do the attack you don't have long to switch prayers.

11.Dealing with the healers.
Once you have the Jad down to half health, he will get assisted and healed by 4 level 108 healers, these look like miniture versions of the level 180 melee reptile. Now there are 2 ways you can deal with these and they are;

Method one: The easiest option in my oponion, you attack all 4 of the healers and make sure they're either trying to attack you or are attacking you. Once you have this done, run through the middle of the jad trapping them so they can't attack you and they can't heal because they're still trying to attack you, if done correctly you have an easy victory providing you don't mess up on the pray switching, As seen in this picture here;
user posted image
See how all 4 of the healers are lined up behind him.

Method two: If the jad spawns in one of the two southern spots of the cave you have the opportunity to trap it along side the italy boot as shown in this picture here.
user posted image
Now once you have gotten the healers to appear, you attack all 4 and take them around the other side of the italy boot so the Jad can't attack. Switch to guthans or your whip + defender and pro melee and kill all 4, these DO NOT respawn. Once killed resume your epic fight with the Jad and continue your pray switching for an easy victory.

12.The spoils.
user posted image
The only reason people do this mini-game is for one thing, the Fire Cape. After beating the Jad you deserve it upon his death you will be taken back to where you entered and be rewarded with the Fire Cape.

Now you have the best cape in RS.

13. Frequently asked questions.
Question: Due to the new graphic update with the monsters, can you still use the safe spots in your guide?
Answer: Yes.

Question: Some people have told me that you can no longer use the 'Italy boot' safe spots, is this true?
Answer: No, you can still use ALL of the spots listed in my guide.

Question: My range is low, are you sure i will only need crystal bow in my inventory for this?
Answer: Yes, if i can do it with crystal bow at 71 range, you should have no problems at all. If you still think it won't be enough, then take a rune c'bow with bolts or karils bow with bolts.

Question: In some of the screen shots in the guide, i saw you using a robin hood hat. Would i need this?
Answer: No. You don't have much defense bonus when you take a robin in, so i strongly reccomend sticking to the guthans helmet for the defense bonus.

Question: Some people have told me that i won't need to take in a whip with a shield, is it really needed that much or can i put in some more super restores if i take them out?
Answer: I would personally take them in with me, they make everything quicker to kill, except the 360's which require range. You get the fight caves done much quicker.

14.Special thanks.
Thank you to Apfapf42589 who gave me the all ranger inventory pic.
Thank you to Tj040 for giving a bit of help on how i could of improved the guide.
