What's tricky is that it's an untradable item.  Because of this, you can make a considerable amount of cash collecting it yourself. You'll need a light source of some kind - like a candle or lantern - and you also need to at least start the Watchtower quest (to the point where you obtain the Skavid map). Since the respawn takes 30-45 seconds, it's nice to do your alchemy here and camp the spawn on the side. DON'T FORGET THAT SKAVID MAP! If you don't have it when you enter the cave you'll be sent to a different location completely.  The spawn is faster on high-population worlds, so it's best to find one with more than 1850 players if you can. I find generally that I get 9-10 high alchemy casts per spawn, so you get a full load of 23 cave nightshade roughly every 200 if you're paying attention (I average like 150 since I'm usually talking on IRC or doing forums at the same time though). If you jump down that metal hole behind me in the following screenshot you're taken straight to Yanille, so getting back and forth really doesn't take very long.  Before you're done, other items and ingredients you'll need are: empty vials, poison ivy berries, and coconuts. BECAUSE CAVE NIGHTSHADE IS UNTRADABLE YOU'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROCESS BEFORE YOU CAN TURN A PROFIT! If you don't have 82 Herblore there are several people in this clan who do, including Tabs and myself. Just please PLEASE have vials of coconut milk already made (use a hammer on a coconut, and then use the coconut on an empty vial). This is the longest and most monotonous part of the process so don't expect to be able to do it quickly while you're being assisted. Breaking it down: If you have 1k alchs, then you should get 100-150 cave nightshade out of this. By current prices, after buying all the other materials, that's a profit of 183 to 275k that you picked up off the ground while you were alching. I've literally done thousands of these, it's a great moneymaker. PS: Also, Weapon Poison (++) goes through a cycle of going really high to very low depending on demand. At one point I was making a profit of almost 5k per vial which is close to 4x as much as you can make right now. If that comes around again it could be very lucrative.  --------------------  | ||||

I didn't really bother to do the math because I'm sure you already know the answer. Rune mining takes 200-300 alchs to get 22-24k worth of ore. And Zeth assisted me in making 156 weapon poisons (Free 30k exp for him), free 180k profit for me Or just over 180 or w.e -------------------- | ||||

For that ratio, this method wins hands down. 200-300 alchs would be 20-30 nightshade, or 36-54k currently. -------------------- | ||||

Anyways, just wanted to bump this and let anyone who was interested know that the profit margin for weapon poison has skyrocketed thanks to PvP. I'm not sure how long it'll stay up since runite is already falling dramatically, but it's worth a mention. After buying coconuts and poison ivy berries you're still looking at a 4.2K profit per nightshade you collect:  -------------------- | ||||

With a little extra work (going to Zanaris and buying the dragon dagger), you can get even more profit! You can also stand around on pvp worlds at GE and sell them for 45k-50k. Depending on your qp, I can sell 3 really fast, then have to wait for some time. Do it while you are bank skilling.  REMEMBER THOSE WHO HAVE 82+ HERBLORE WILL HELP YOU These people are:
