I haven't been on RS in ages and haven't been incredibly forum active, in terms of posting, but I do read lots of stuff. I've just lost interest in playing RS whenever I have the chance. I mean, it used to be if I had free time (and sometimes if I didn't have free time) I would play RS. Now it seems when I'm done with work, or don't have work, I don't even feel the urge to play. I mean, the last time I went on, I was in the process of killing Waterfiends and working towards my goal of 68 Summoning, but I just didn't want it anymore. I didn't need to play. This is also combined with the fact that school has started for me, and I'm in my senior year of high school so lots of stress and lots of work ahead. I need to use any and all time I've got for homework and college applications as well as sports and any clubs I may join. I just don't have the time to really stay involved game-wise with WG. That's the personal stuff. I love this clan, I really do. I mean, I had to leave in '05 but came back when the chance arose. I've never really "left" this clan and I could say it's my home. It's changed, but that's to be expected and it's just as fun a place as any, and with just as many quirks. We've got some great leaders and some great members. We've also got some trouble makers and drama queens (kings also I suppose). What would WG be without all this? Not much at all, and that's what makes this clan so awesome. Just some personal complaints/rants I have that aren't directed at any person in particular, and are just my personal annoyances: - I think we've got a few to many kiss-ups around here. To many people are "Yes that's a great idea," and "I think [leader's name here] is right," or "You shouldn't talk like that." Not an overwhelmingly bad issue, but just something that annoyed the crap out of me and made me think, "Are you fucking serious?" - Also, my personal view is that we've got a lot of "show offs". It just seems we get a lot of "Suggestions" where the person has only been here a short while and is already making changes, but going about it in a nice way. In my opinion this is just a way to get a "good" reputation so the member can move up in the ranks. I've had this feeling before about someone, but was totally wrong about HIM. I'd just like to apologize to this person - Mugger84. I thought you were one of these people in the beginning, but I've realized how wrong I really was, and even though I never said anything I'm sorry I thought of you that way, I guess I was kind of a dick. - I also think we've got a few to many "badasses" around here. Almost like Rick Hamm copycats (I use him as the first "model" because he was the first one I knew that really spoke his mind). I mean, there is a difference between saying "Look, I can't stand this, it makes no fucking sense," and "You're an idiot TBH [whatever was the topic goes here]." I mean Rick is being steadfast and voicing an opinion, while the other would be also voicing an opinion, but like a child throwing a temper tantrum - grow up. If anyone who has decision making abilities decides to read this in its entirety, you might want to try and weed those people out, or at least keep an eye on them because I'm sure they'd rot sections of the clan in one way or another (also thanks for reading all that has been typed up so far). Now for my compliments and shout-outs: Well, some people at least know of me, but not many really know me and that's fine. I don't post much in the way of "LOL, that was hilarious," but more on the "serious" stuff, or things I really have something to say about. My first compliment goes to: 1. The Leaders This goes to all Council and Tertiaries. You guys put up with a LOT of shit from everyone. I can only imagine what you guys deal with, and yet you're still able to appease us, even if only for a short while before we start bitching again. You guys really are awesome. 2. Kingrandy0 You my friend are a legend. You're always doing more than anyone should EVER expect and you're so humble about it. Despite that, you're also SO grateful when other people help you out even when you do so much more than they've done for you. You really are one of the kindest people I've come across IRL and RS (which means a lot because I've been all over the place). 3. Rick Hamm You get a special congratulatory slot (for what it's worth). I've always admired you and your ability to just take whatever is thrown at you (regardless of the fact that it's all over the internet). You've got a 0% policy for shit and it's awesome. You're always ridiculed and scrutinized, but as corny as it may seem you're *kind* of like Batman (if you've seen The Dark Kinght you'll know what I mean). We need someone to do what needs to be done and say what needs to be said and be able to blame someone for it, and you've basically taken on that role. Also, I know I ALWAYS bring this up when I'm talking to you, so no need to break the chain now...SEMPER FI! DO OR DIE! Shout-outs: Mugger84 - I don't know you at all really, and I'm pretty sure you don't know me either, but I've observed what you've done for the clan and I've got to say I'm impressed. As I've said before I used to think you were a "show off" but I was totally wrong about that. You're a genuine person and I respect you. Theevildead2 - Dude, you've earned my respect. I value everything you say, regardless of my opinion, I know you not just throwing BS out in each of your posts. I think you've REALLY earned the position you're in and you as an individual are doing an awesome job. Don't EVER let anyone tell you otherwise. T Dwag/Sadcon 1 - You're just an awesome guy in general. I knew you from back in the day and to this day you've kept talking to me as if I'd never even left. That means a lot to come back to the clan you used to be a part of and still have someone remember you. Abmanju - Abs...you're just...well...Abs. I mean you're my lucky charm! Things might not always go your way, but you're doing a great job as Leader (I still think of you as Leader seeing as Gene is only here temporarily). You're down to earth and just genuinely friendly. Mathsnerd18 - You sir have my utmost respect. I like and really respect who you are as a person and your values. We don't talk all that much but if I ever get back into RS as much as I used to be I hope that would change. Then there are the Old Skoolers, my era, heh. I'd rather address you guys as a group. You guys were and are still awesome. I know that you miss the WG that we had a long time ago, but I really think we need to get past the whole Old vs. New and have it be Old and New. We must work together to keep the clan going. We can't dwell on what we had because that's gone now. We can re-create something like it but it won't be the same and deep down I think you all knew that, you just didn't want your clan to change into something else. Change is inevitable, but I believe we can offer a LOT of help to make the transition easier for everyone. I guess that's it then? I might as well do that whole "my history in WG": Member I can't remember the step above regular member back then... Someone for the newer members to look up to and emulate. There isn't a clan out there, this one included, who wouldn't want a clan full of guys like you. You're considerate, you're kind, you know a great deal, and you're an awesome friend. I appreciate the kind words you've said about me. If people stopped to get to know me instead of trying to aggravate me, things would be a whole lot better around here, and that's a guarantee. Still, there are those who wish to test the Hammer and while I'm always up for a game of Smack the Noob, I'm afraid I'm getting a little too old for that. It's funny you brought those points up about me David because just today, I received many a forum warning...60% in fact, about being as outspoken and "rude" as I am. I'm glad you see things for what they are. Take a long break from RS David, it'll still be here when you decide to come back. I know, for me, I took a long break and returned only to find I had so much to catch up on, and that's what made it more fun for me. There is always something new to figure out, new quests to do, and more people to meet and greet. Take good care of yourself bro. School always comes first.
