      IRC Nickname: Mistah_Vince Group: Ex-Member Posts: 2235 Member No.: 233 Joined: February 14, 2008 Total Events Attended: 85    | Okay, just because I was really confused about this new shield before I did the quest, I feel that making a Mini-Guide for it will help myself(should I forget the information I currently know) and for those who wish to know about it as well. You see, upon completion of Summer's End,(Guide Can be Found Here: Guide) you are given a Spirit Shield as part of your reward. It looks like this:  It's stats aren't too far off from a Rune Kiteshield, which isn't bad for the basic stage of the shield.   Now, after the completion of the quest you gain the ability to kill the Corporeal Beast, which is an extremely difficult Boss to kill. (No, I don't know how to kill it, don't ask me, lol.) This beast drops the two ingredients which are required to make the shield. They are known as: - Holy Elixir:  - And 4 different kinds of Sigils, they are:
There's a mini-stage in between the making of the new shields though. You bring your basic Spirit Shield to a brother in the Monastery(I THINK) with the Holy Elixir and 90 Prayer and he will bless it and you will get a Blessed Spirit Shield:  Its stats are as follows: (in the same format you will see below) Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 Defence: + 53 + 55 + 73 + 2 + 52 + 65 Other: + 0 + 3 Not bad for just a blessing. Now, here are the pictures of the new shields:  They are arranged the same way they are above^ (For those too lazy to scroll up 2 inches: Arcane, Divine, Elysian, Spectral) The stats on them are as follows: In the Format of: Attack Bonuses - Stab, Slash, Crush, Magic, Range. Defence Bonuses - Stab, Slash, Crush, Magic, Range, Summoning. Other Bonuses - Strength, Prayer. Arcane: Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 + 20 + 0 Defence: + 53 + 55 + 73 + 2 + 52 +65 Other: + 0 + 3 Requirements to Wield: 75 Defence, 70 Prayer, 65 Magic. - Effect of the Arcane Shield: There are none. =\ Divine: Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 Defence: + 63 + 65 + 75 + 2 + 57 + 65 Other: + 0 + 3 Requirements to Wield: 75 Defence, 75 Prayer. - Effect of the Divine Shield: 30% - or as much as if possible if 30% is more than your current amount of Prayer points - of any damage you take is removed. Half of this 30% is deducted from your Prayer instead, while the other half is ignored completely. Elysian: Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 Defence + 63 + 65 + 75 + 2 + 57 + 65 Other:+ 0 + 3 Requirements to Wield: 75 Defence, 75 Prayer. - Effect of the Elysian Shield: 70% chance of reducing the damage you receive by 25%. Spectral: Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 Defence: + 53 + 55 + 73 + 30 + 52 + 65 Other: + 0 + 3 Requirements to Wield: 75 Defence, 70 Prayer, 65 Magic. - Effect of the Spectral Shield: There are none. =\ But there is one difference between these Sigils and Godsword Hilts. I will bold it so you kids with ADD can notice it right away. UNLIKE GODSWORD HILTS, WHICH CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE BLADE AND REPLACED WITH A DIFFERENT HILT, THE SIGIL CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE SHIELD ONCE IT IS APPLIED. Overall, I think these shields are decent. If I had to, I'd say the Elysian is the best. It has the highest bonuses out of all the Shields except for its Mage Defence, where Spectral clearly owns it. But I dunno, I'd sacrifice Mage Defence for all the others. BUT, the bonuses on a Dragonfire Shield are actually higher than all of those. I'll post the DFS Stats next to the Elysian Shield's Stats in the same format as above so you can compare them. Elysian: Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 Defence: + 63 + 65 + 75 + 2 + 57 + 65 Other: + 0 + 3 Fully Charged DFS: Attack: + 0 + 0 + 0 - 10 - 5 Defence: + 70 + 75 + 72 + 10 + 72 + 17 Other: + 7 + 0 If you actually read my guide, thank you. It's really not. I thought it was too when I heard about it from Fairy. But then after I actually FINISHED the quest and read the dialogue at the end, it made a lot more sense to me. -------------------- | ||
