Do NOT use this to structure your p2p raid sets unless you are poor. I do not want to see everybody turning up in this gear, however, I'd rather you turn up in this, than not turn up at all.

A lot of people currently don't attend raids due to the cost of sets.
This topic will show you what exactly to wear to minimize the cost, still incorporating a good attack bonus.

At the moment, it's better if you turn up to a raid in this, than not come at all.
When we become more experienced and more people come to raids, I'll up the standards.
If you can afford better, WEAR BETTER
A lot of these sets are as cheap as f2p sets now, using protect prayer.
Exact costs (including food + pots!) are incorporated into each set.
All of these sets don't use glories, saving 40k each time.
The disadvantage to many of these sets is there is no/minimal rune.
Hides can be tanked in, you won't get frozen, but melee will hit you harder.

Melee

Loss if you protect dragon scimitar ^

Relatively cheap, about the same as a f2p set.
In any case, swap out the power ammy for a glory.
The only other change would be rune legs.

Pros + Cons:
Pro - D scim spec is extremely useful for removing prayer
Pro - Good magic defence with this set
Con - Limited melee defence, probably fight with melee prayer on

Range

Again, cheaper than melee.
You'll only be needing like 50 bolts max.
Changes that could be made is taking a glory.

Pros + Cons:
Pro - Cheap set
Pro - Good for ancienters, range works well
Con - Limited melee defence

Magic - Tb

Tb'ers are important.
If you tb and another guy gets the kill, he/she will give you something from the kill.

Pros + Cons:
Pro - Decent magic attack for the price
Pro - If you use this style and we get a kill, you get a share
Con - Very very low melee defence. Hide in the pile and try not to get attacked.

Magic - Ancient

Ancients are important.
They freeze the enemy.
If you're an ancient, you kick ass Woot_Emoticon.gif
The more ancients the better.
We should have at least 1/4-1/3 ancienting in any p2p raid.

Pros + Cons:
Pro - Good magic attack, you will hit (may splash against full hides)
Pro - Cheapest way to ancient I found. Book is free. Splitbark is 25k ea.
Pro - You will get multiple kills
Con - Low melee defence. Protect from melee/range at all times. Use d-hide when in trouble.

No excuse for skipping p2p raids if you're poor
We dont care if you're in hides/power ammy, as long as you show up.
If you wanted to go even CHEAPER, you could replace the neit for a rune helm, but you lose a ton of defense

Meleers should also carry some form of ranged attack (msb+ rune arrows/cbow+bolts)

Maybe add this in there:

The new Minigame "Stealing Creation" has melee armor rewards. The Platebody and Platelegs have EXACTLY the same stats as Rune Platebodies and Platelegs.

The points are pretty easy to obtain once you get the hang of it. You could encourage people to play the game, and use their points on these armors so that there wouldn't be a need to come in D-hide and stuff like that.

I think this applies only to Melee though, because the requirements of all the armors and such are Level-40, which makes sense that the Melee armor stats are the same because Rune is also Level-40.

In any case, this might help with the whole cost thing. We could have multiple trips to this minigame a week so people can rack up points and get more armor for raids. Each game is 20 minutes, and depending on what you do during the game, you can get LOADS of points. People on RSC are getting 70k+ points a game, which is already enough to get the Platebody.
