awesome to watch and I liked when you ran out of food you went to the prayer that gives you hit points I think?? That would seem a good thing.

Excellent, I understand the concept and I am attempting to practice tanking but is there any way to practice this without be in a training or actual war situation?

I'd say best way to do it is go to a F2P Clan Wars world, find a war with a decent amount of people in it, and try to tank them. :s Otherwise, war training is your best chance.
