My dear members,
There is only the illusion of skillers vs warrers.
The truth is, our hearts beat as one.
Everything we do, is for the greater good of the community.

That diagram represents the layers of WG.
It is the original sector diagram.
Warring is the base, skilling on top of that, and community above that.
Look at how they are all equal.

If our skilling sector collapsed, our community would collapse as well, but we'd still have warring. If our warring sector were to collapse, we'd lose skilling and community.

I state plainly, I value skilling and warring equally, as they both offer a great deal to this community, but the skills sector lies on top of the warring sector and the warring sector is the base of this clan. If the warring sector falls, everything else will fall with it.

When I ask skillers to war, I want them to war in order to strengthen the warring sector, which then allows me to work on the skilling sector, and in so doing strengthen the community.

Right now there is a major break which started in the warring sector. This is filtering through to skills and skills are suffering. And if we don't fix it now, community will suffer too.

My good friends, the skillers. We MUST help the warring sector if our skills sector is to thrive. We are small parts of the same clan and both sectors need to work together to serve the ultimate sector - the community.

Once we fix our warring, the base will be strong enough to build the skilling sector over it, and on top of both of them, the community sector.

___________

That is what makes WG much more difficult to run than another clan. Twice as hard to be exact. Other clans find their community through warring success. WG requires both good warring and an additional layer of skilling in order to attain community, but our community is stronger as a result.

Please, don't take the side of skilling or fighting. It is an illusion. We are serving the same purpose in different ways, and right now, if we don't improve our warring strength, skilling will never prosper.

Summary

You have been thinking in the wrong way. It's not like this:

user posted image

I'm not taking resources from skills to give to wars. I'm concentrating on wars so that I may build our skills sector on top of it. There is no competition for resources or attention. Skills and wars go together.

STOP THE FIGHTING.
Skillers need warrers, and the community needs the skillers. There is NO struggle between you. You are making a struggle between each other for no reason.

You may never like wars, but an event every few weeks is a small price to pay in exchange for a better skills sector.

We all know that mostly all the WG members that enjoy warring would rather I not come and get ko.

Until I reach my personal goal of 1750 total lvl combat training comes second. I want to have at least the avg total lvl that all of WG has. That is my goal to be avg member.

I am not saying that your asking to much of anyone, look back at when I first joined and you will see I have always attended some wars, but your attitude towards the "must win" has changed it. My ohh well I might not be the best but I can get better has changed to omg not war. I didn't like getting yelled at publically by Robert56 or anyone else on ts. Then I get talked about behind my back to my friends and they tell me.

I'm an easy target for the other clan but what is sad is my own clan targeted me as well. I'm not going to whine about it, but don't expect me to do jumping jacks and cart wheels in excitement that you are twisting my arm and putting a sword to my throat and forcing me to go to war either.

It's better to have you at a war than not to have you at a war.
A PKRI may be different.

If someone speaks poorly of you I will efend you, but I've not seen people talking badly about you behind your back, otherwise I would punish. It's not on.

That explains alot. I think we see this clan in very different ways. I have always thought that Community was the base. Warring was not what held this clan together through hard times. Then on top of that community base is events. The events serve to reinforce community bonds.

In the way I see this clan there are only two layers, community and events, and really events are just a form of building community through runescape. Some people may not like attending the same events that I attend, but I respect that and realize that forcing them to come to events that they do not consider fun only erodes the community.

Btw, I love warring, so why are we having only one war every three weeks? Your 8 changes to wars are going to do very little to fix our warring base (assuming your model of WG) if we do not get some proper training.

More wars plz. We can still have the big wars every three weeks, but lets get some mini wars going.

Yea, we need some more practices. In the form of miniwars, not by these war trainings.
Our warring will get rusty if we don't train it on a regular base.
1 War in 3 weeks is just not enough for a warring clan.
And we all saw our atendance wasn't what it should've been at the war versus SA.
So that plan isn't really working ( Less wars, but more important ones..)

-About Elias' post:
The diagram shows pretty good the situation, Allthough i never thought about it that way.
And it's pretty confusing too, that you keep talking about the sectors..
Sectors are gone.. It's just an illusion.
We are all Wilderness Guardians, But some of us like skilling more then warring, and some people like it the other way round.

I agree on bringing mini-wars back. When I first joined, I was so impressed when there would be one just about every other night. I was piss poor at warring, but there was that constant bond over having events that made me feel more comfortable with the clan.

Maybe it's not the fact that they were mini-wars, it might have been the fact that so many people would spontaneously get together to do something in-game. I think sometimes spontaneity makes things more exciting, more alluring that if you're on you'll get to take part in something you never even saw coming.

Well when you think about it one can't go without the other... in a 'normal' world it would be the skillers that provide the gear, food and potions to the warring people... and the waring people would fight to keep the skillers safe... however, in time of needs (a grand and epic war) the skillers should stand firm and say "I WILL HELP AND FIGHT", but if there are no recourses the fighters have to kick in as well to aid. (this is less applied in RS as we have the Grand Echange and stuff"

So lets all act like one... A well-oiled machine.
