F2p Warring Guide

Hello, in this guide I will try to explain the basics of warring. If you are a new member new to warring I recomend you read all of this guide. There are a few guides already out there, so i will try to just briefly explain them.

Contents

~1~ 'Special' Items
~2~ Inventory Setup
~3~ Terms
~4~ Hybriding
~5~ Tanking

Special Items

In F2p warring, there are a few items which offer better stats and bonuses then old school equipment, which everyone in WG should have.
Item Name - Where you get it - Brief Description
Rune Beserker Shield - Fist of Guthix - The rune beserker shield is much better then a rune kite. It gives greater defence bonus as well as a +3 strength.

Rune Gauntlets - Fist of Guthix - Rune gauntlets give +3 strength and a bit of defence, much better then leather gloves.

Druidic Robes - Fist of Guthix - Druidic robes not only give the best mage bonus in F2p, but also give an extra bonus for binds, making them more accurate.

Explorers Ring - Lumbridge Diary - One of the most important items in F2p warring, they have 3 charges, each giving 50 energy per use which restores daily - Great for tanking.
Talisman Staff - Great Orb Project - The best F2p staff, it gives +15 mage defence, and a few other melee def bonuses.
Ancient Mace - Another Slice of H.A.M(Quest) - Very good item to have, use the special before the war and it will add-on to your prayer. Eg if i hit a 21, my pray will be 120/99.
Salt Water Pool - As a 1st Resort - The salt water pool makes your run 'infinte' for around 20 minutes. Most wars have this option canceled, but when infinite run is aloud it is important we all have it, it makes tanking a whole lot easier.

Inventory Setup
Your gear/inventory should look something like this for a F2p War.

Warring Terms
There are a few 'warring terms' that newer members might not understand at first, so here is a few you should know.
Fall in - Everyone follows the person leading.
DD/Death Dot - Everyone stand in the same square.
Pile 'X'/ Wg 'X' - The person we are all attacking.
Hybrid - Using both melee as well as binds to stop our pile from running away.
Tanking - When you are the enemies pile, you must run around obstacles to get them stuck and survive as long as possible.
Sniping - Attacking hybrids while they have their robes on.
Anti sniping - Attacking the people attacking our hybrids.

Hybriding
Hybriding is using binds to stop our pile from running. Keep your robes on and make sure our target is constantly binded. Just bind then count to 7, then bind again (Attack them while waiting) Just remember to put your rune on if you are getting sniped, or when they have just killed our tank and are looking for a new pile.

Tanking
Tanking is where you're the enemies pile. The first thing you should do is run, Just quickly click behind the nearest wall. Then you can start getting setup;
• Protect from melee (thick skin as well if you're getting owned)
• Heal up to full HP
• Equip Staff
Now just keep running around walls to get them stuck, when they are stuck and no1 is hitting you, equip your d'hide body and pray mage so you don't get binded and keep running.
Just make sure to equip your rune and pray melee when you do get binded.
You must do all this very quickly, or you will get Koed.

That is what you do when tanking ^, just keep running around the walls to get them stuck. If you have alot of energy, try dragging them to waste alot of there energy, as shown below.

Conclusion
In conclusion, heres a few notes on how to not get koed.

- Have your rs sounds on (the middle one) so you can hear when you're getting attacked.
- Put your rune on when they are charging and after they killed our tank.
- Pray/eat/run as soon as they attack you.
So ya that's it, if you have any questions on warring or anything post here/pm me or any raid leader/warlord.
Also ty to maffs for the screenies on hugging/dragging neko2.gif

Great guide!
Should help the people who arn't comfortable with warring a lot.

1 Thing: Don't wear the Boots from The Stronghold of Security when you're hybriding.
They give a negtive mage bonus of -3.

Good job Zemus wink.gif

Wot is tank?

A tank is the act of when bandos is attacking you, you must run around and stuff so he doesnt inflict as much damage, allowing you to successfully obtain numerous amounts of hilts/trip.
