I'll make this short and sweet. There are no longer "weekly raids." Instead, raids will be posted by a staff member in the events forum, with 3 + days preparation allowed.

Why?
Right now, on a typical raid we get 10-20 people. Over 4+ raids a week, this isn't half bad. That means WG takes 50-80 people out into the wilderness a week. Instead of having it spread out, I would prefer it is "compacted" so that more people attend, making it a bigger and more fun event. I'm hoping that with larger expected pulls, it will have a self-effecting cycle in which more people attend as more people show each week.

Lets go for 35 kids out there at a time, guys. I'm requiring that everyone has 4 rune sets banked at all times. Six rune sets would be what I actually EXPECT you to have. Having 10+ sets is ideal, really. Money is easy to make. Before you make the argument that you're "throwing away money," think about why we are doing this. Raiding is fun if you don't automatically just shut it out because of financial impact. We can actually do some damage to the clan world. Lets make it count.

As there will only be 1-2 Raids a week, I EXPECT you to attend if you are online. I will PM you if you are a noshow and I will write your name to keep track of attendances. You will have much more free time to skill and moneymake, and we will be off of your backs.

PS: A lot of you out there always say how you're saving up for the latest goal in RuneScape. Goals are great, but seriously, you can work around them to help out your clan and have fun. Most of you say you play 6+ hours a week. Giving 1 hour of your time to your clan seems like a great balance, really. After you save up to buy your Bandos Godsword you claim you can't put off, what next? Most likely, let me guess. You want full Bandos Armor, which is your next excuse as to why you can't raid. After that, of course, you'll want a Dragonfire Shield and 99 herblore. Don't forget you'll want to chin to 99 ranging and get full armadyl gear.

My point is, from personal experience, you're ALWAYS going to want more. Life won't change if you give a set every 2 weeks to your clan. Greed is the natural human emotion, let go of it.

Extra: If you REALLY can't afford to raid, PM me on forums or IRC. I'm willing to help you moneymake. Hell, ask Powerman24. He was having trouble, and I took him to Bandos GWD last night and made him 2.3m in ~ 2 hours. Don't be prideful to ask me. If I must, I'm willing to help you out with Rune Sets and their cost, as long as you are also willing to make money, too.

EDIT: On Raids, expect our raid to turn into a war or a short (1 hour-ish?) PKRI sometimes. Instead of just clearing a clan and then moving on, I will be looking for fights if we have a decent shot.

Good post Glenn. I would much rather have this than have 10 or so wilderness events a weekend like we had this weekend. Even though I like raiding and warring, I was tired of it. I am willing to risk my rune so why can't anyone else?

Yeah, the reason why there was 3 different raids was because of the time zones :/ you cant expect a aussie to bend over backwards to wake up at 4am for a raid or vice versa for a european or american.

Wars are different.. raids = me not waking up.

I have 10 sets in my bank already and I'll be getting more when I get the chance (above 10 sets). Though make sure to mention the new gear requirements since I've already received a warn level for it.

This will detriment the timezones, and I'm not happy about it, but at the same time I will trust my warlords.

Erm. I forgot that you guys can't see level 3 lol.
In level 3 I already advised leaders to have a raid at least once a week that Aussies can go to. This would most likely be 7-8 PM EST. Which is early afternoon / late morning for Aussies. Most people are up by 9 or 10 AM.

I think I can afford 2 rune sets per week. Anything much more than that though I cannot do. Once school starts I do not have time to both attend events and spend time making money to replenish my rune. Rl > WG events > money making.

Karl. I think I meant to say one set a week. We probably won't have more than 1-2 PKRI's a month. Each person will probably lose like 2-3 sets over that month in them most likely.

Didn't we already try non-standard raid times a while ago? sleep.gif
Why did we go back to set raid times if random raid times was so good?

Cause people don't check forums often enough.

I hope this works out.

I'm in an Aussie timezone so all the events happen at 1AM or really early in the morning.

Let's see how this works out though before we start making changes.
