lol Please excuse the horrible writing and spelling lol I tried my best to explain how VCE goes for Terra as he has just moved to Victoria. If you can't read someone or don't get something just ask.

Thank God I'm in university...high school noobs.

PS, Canadian school system makes more sense. Except I envy you're lack of classes in the VCE system. But then again how can you take the asian six pack with only 5 courses?!?!?! ( asian six pack = biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, statistics, discrete math. And that's all in one year...all the asians take those courses hence the asian six pack.).

Laura. In Year 11 there is no such thing as General maths A or B.

its General Maths
Methods
Advanced General Maths.

And lyke.. your exams only make up 40% of your mark, SACs are more important wink.gif.

The GAT is a waste of time and you don't actually have to pass it, it basically to see if you have learned anything in the past 4 months >.<.

I start tomorrow.

and BTW. You do actually do 6 classes in Year 12 wink.gif. 5 of them only count, but you do 6 just incase you fuck one up basically.

Well our school system must be different. At my school there is a gernal maths A and B in year 11. We only have 5 classes in year 12 the spares are to do catch up and study.

And the GAT is a waste of time but it's also there incase you can't do the end of year exams. I think i know what i'm writing about so please don't say that there is no General maths A and B and don't say we do 6 classes when i know we only do 5

In the USA it goes a lil somethin like this....
Kindergarten - 8th Grade: dont count for anything

High School (9th - 12th grades) - basis for college entry

Freshman Year (9th) - basically just gets you into the swing of high school

Sophomore Year (10th) - here you can start with AP classes which gain u college credits. Also you can take PSATs which are practice for the SATs. and in Mass you have to take the MCAS which is like a basic state test you need to pass in order to graduate.

Junior Year (11th) - most important for college admission. you take the PSATs in the fall for scholarship opportunities. You take SATs anytime during the year, whichever score is your highest is what will be sent to your colleges you apply to. This year a rigorous schedule also will help you greatly. Visit colleges/etc

Senior Year (12th) - Final year of high school. Keep up the schedule and dont slack off. Send in all applications to colleges in the fall. Apply for scholarships in the winter + spring.

Statistics and discrete math? Do you mean Advanced Functions and Data Management? That's what they're called here and I'm from Canada too hash.png
