sword art online season 2 pls

ANGEL BEATS SEASON 2 PLSSSS???

It'd be a prequel if anything. They ended Angel Beats pretty well (albeit if the series was 24 eps long it'd go from my top 10 to top1)

The manga on that is pretty decent. <3

also: SAO source is pretty good, and Blueray sales were huge, prob would get a season 2, but DAMMNIT CHANGE PRODUCTION, they were bad, the music was bad, and the pacing was pretty bad.

If you're in the middle, it goes downhill after the conclusion of the first story arc :(. It's still watchable, but nowhere near as good.

I thought it fell flat on its face because they didnt add any anime filler to soften the time skips. The skips really took me out of the mood. I thought ep 1 and 2 were amazing though, an actual survival when they were noobs and everything is hard.... then stuff turns into harems for kirito.... stupid

ALO was alright tho.

Attention!! Those who liked Sword Art Online!!

This season theres another anime just like it. Log Horizon!!!
I havent seen it personally yet, but its 2 million ppl trapped online in a game. However, Log Horizon only focuses on the 30,000 in Japan

Seems interesting! And the hype is good too!

Edit: Watched the first episode, looks pretty good so far but not as good as SAO.
I don't think this will be as emotional/epic as SAO but I'm sure it will be great.

I finished it to!
Its a much lighter tone towards the show, vs SAO. The forst 2 eps of SAO are beastly, but it went downhill from there :/. I dont think this show will have the same problems as SAO, and I sorta like the supporting characters more in Log Horizon. That being said i dont like the main character.. Maybe ill grow to like him

I just checked and Log Horizon is up on Crunchyroll. Might give it a watch when ep 1 becomes available for free in a few days.

For me, I thought the whole first story arc of SAO (so up to episode 15ish?) was solid, not just the first 2 eps. I know a lot of people found the Kirito/Asuna relationship too cheesy and corny, but I personally didn't mind it :P

Saw the 2nd episode of Log horizon,
Was good but still nowhere near SAO, mostly considering they can just resurrect so that makes it a lot less exciting/emotional if someone dies.
I also don't really like the main character because he's not interesting
Keiichi Morisato is looking forward to university life. But in reality, he has no luck in anything, and he has trouble with clubs, love, etc. The truth is that he has an unlucky star above his head. One day, Keiichi is stuck watching the dorm while his sempai are away, and has a mountain of chores to do to boot. But Keiichi is a good-natured person, and is set about doing his duties. As he is about to finish his final chore, he makes a phone call to his sempai. But the words that came through the receiver are, 'Goddess Help Line.' Shortly afterwards, a beautiful goddess named Belldandy appears in front of him from the mirror of his room.

Clannad's story revolves around Tomoya Okazaki, a third year high school student who dislikes his life. Tomoya's mother (Atsuko) died when Tomoya was young, leaving his father (Naoyuki) to raise him. The story opens when Tomoya meets by chance Nagisa Furukawa, a soft-spoken girl one year older than he is who is repeating her last year in high school due to being sick much of the previous year. Her goal is to join the drama club which she was unable to do due to her sickness, but they find that the drama club was disbanded after the few remaining members graduated. Since Tomoya has a lot of time to kill, he starts to help Nagisa in reforming the drama club. During this period, Tomoya meets and hangs out with several other girls who he gets to know well and help with their individual problems.

In the second part of Clannad labelled 'Clannad: After Story', Tomoya and Nagisa start living together and get married. Tomoya has to endure several hardships that the family has been suffering from, mainly involving Nagisa's illness

Black Lagoon follows a team of pirates/mercenaries known as Lagoon Company, that smuggles goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia in the early to mid 1990s. Their base of operations is located in the fictional harbor city of Roanapur in southeast Thailand (somewhere in the Amphoe Mueang Trat district, likely on the mainland north/northeast of the Ko Chang island or on the island itself). They transport goods in the 80-foot (24 m) Elco-type PT boat Black Lagoon. Lagoon Company does business with various clients, but has a particularly friendly relationship with the Russian crime syndicate Hotel Moscow. The team takes on a variety of missions—which may involve violent firefights, hand-to-hand combat, and nautical battles—in various Southeast Asian locations, even going as far as Phu Quoc island of Vietnam and when not doing much, the members of the Lagoon Company spend much of their down time at The Yellow Flag, a bar in Roanapur which is often destroyed in firefights. There is also a 2nd season labelled 'Black Lagoon: Second Barrage'.

Ghost in the Shell takes place in the year 2030, where many people have become cyborgs with prosthetic bodies. Primarily set in the fictional Japanese city of Niihama, Niihama Prefecture, the series follows the members of Public Security Section 9, a special-operations task-force made up of former military officers and police detectives, while the group investigates various crimes, both seasons feature ongoing investigations into two incidents that embroil the group in corruption within other branches of the Japanese government.

The first season of Stand Alone Complex focuses on the Laughing Man incident, wherein a hacker ultimately reveals to the Major that he had discovered that several micromachine manufacturing corporations in association with the Japanese government suppressed information on an inexpensive cure to a debilitating cyberization disease in order to profit from the more expensive micromachine treatment. He abducted one of the owners of the company and attempted to force him to reveal the truth on live television, resulting in the hacker live-hacking everyone's vision and cameras at the event to cover his face with the stylized laughing face that became synonymous with his image. His popularity spawned several genuine imitators, resulting in the series' titular Stand Alone Complex. When Section 9 discovers that these companies and several Japanese politicians later used the Laughing Man's image to garner public support and profit, they begin a campaign to disseminate the truth, ultimately leading to the Cabinet labeling them as domestic terrorists and forcibly disbanding them, resulting in the capture of several members and the apparent death of Motoko Kusanagi. However, it is all a ruse to deceive the government, and the very alive and well members of Section 9 regroup to bring the micromachine corporations and corrupt politicians to justice, resulting in the dissolution of the current Japanese government.

The second season, 2nd GIG, set two years after the events of the first season, explores the political and social ramifications of the two world wars that took place prior to the events of the series. At the time of the Third and the Fourth World Wars, about three million Asians became refugees and were invited into Japan as a source of cheap labor. These "invited refugees", based on the reclaimed island of Dejima, soon became unemployed in the post-war period, and their social unrest borders on outright war. Section 9's involvement in the refugee issue begins after they successfully stop a hostage crisis caused by a terrorist group known as the Individual Eleven, after which newly elected Prime Minister Yoko Kayabuki officially reinstates the organization. The group seems to be modeling themselves after the May 15 Incident, where a group of naval officers assassinated the Prime Minister and then gained the support of the public, and hope to stir up the refugees' spirits by fighting for them against the Japanese government. The group also comes into contact with Kazundo Goda, head of the Cabinet Intelligence Service, who gets assistance from the group in defusing several instances between the refugees as well as assisting him in transporting plutonium through Dejima, result in several failures and refugee deaths, further straining relations. Section 9 ultimately discovers that Goda has been manipulating both events behind the scenes, leaking the social virus that creates the Individual Eleven ideology and creating a new Stand Alone Complex, as well as the intentional failures with the refugees. However, he cannot account for the charismatic Hideo Kuze who genuinely believes in the best for the refugees and helps rally for their independence from Japan. Throughout the investigation, Kusanagi discovers she may know Kuze from her childhood, and ultimately, Goda is found guilty of his part in the refugee incidents and killed before he can defect to the American Empire, but not before his ministrations also result in the death of Kuze.

In order they are:

- Ghost in the Shell (Movie)
- Ghost in the Shell 2.0 (Movie)

Ghost Hunt follows the ghost hunting adventures of Mai Taniyama, a first-year high school student who becomes involved with the Shibuya Psychic Research center (SPR) and its young manager, Kazuya Shibuya. Mai nicknames Kazuya Shibuya "Naru" because of his narcissistic (narushisuto) attitude, and the nickname is generally adopted by all those who come to eventually work with SPR: Buddhist monk Houshou Takigawa; shrine maiden Ayako Matsuzaki; celebrity teen psychic Masako Hara; and Catholic priest John Brown.

Ghost Hunt also explores the paranormal abilities of the characters, particularly focusing on Mai's "latent psychic abilities," demonstrated by her dreaming about information relevant to their cases. She is often joined in her dreams by someone whom she assumes to be Naru, who acts as a spirit guide, but who is later revealed to be someone quite unexpected.

Full Metal Panic! follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of a covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril, tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a spirited Japanese high school girl. He moves to Japan to study at Chidori's school, Jindai High School, with assistance from his comrades Kurz Weber and Melissa Mao. Having never experienced social interactions, Sousuke is found as a military maniac by his schoolmates as he interprets everyday situations from a combat perspective. He comes to relate with Chidori who realizes that Sousuke is protecting her, but he does not reveal the reasons due to orders as well as the fact he does not know why Chidori is being targeted by different organizations.

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is a companion series to the anime series Full Metal Panic! It takes place between the first season and The Second Raid. Markedly different in tone to the first series, Fumoffu emphasizes the high school romantic comedy aspects of Full Metal Panic! with often crude humor and focuses on the romantic tension between Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori. It frequently parodies itself and anime stereotypes. None of the mecha combat or political intrigue, which characterized much of the original Full Metal Panic!, can be seen in the series. The only reference to the mecha aspect of Full Metal Panic! is the Bonta-kun, which is one of the most prominent parodies in the anime. Sousuke uses spare Bonta-kun costumes to make highly effective suits of power armor, but they look like teddy bears wearing army gear and can only say: "Fu" and "Mo" in different combinations.

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid is the direct sequel to the original anime series. It takes place three months after the events that occurred in the Tuatha de Danaan at the end of the original Full Metal Panic! series. Mithril learns of a secret organization that has technology able to counter the ECS (Electronic Conceal System) mode. The organization, known as Amalgam, has access to Black Technology, which was obtained from the Whispered. Like the other intelligence agencies, Amalgam intends to obtain more. Sousuke's mission to protect Chidori is terminated by Mithril, instead leaving her in the care of an anonymous agent known as Wraith.

In K-On!, four Japanese high school girls join Sakuragaoka Girl's High School's light music club to try to save it from being disbanded. However, they are the only members of the club. At first, Yui Hirasawa has no experience playing musical instruments or reading sheet music as she is only familiar with playing the castanets, but she eventually becomes an excellent guitar player. From then on, Yui, along with bassist Mio Akiyama, drummer Ritsu Tainaka, and keyboardist Tsumugi Kotobuki spend their school days practicing, performing, and hanging out together. The club is overseen by music teacher Sawako Yamanaka, who eventually becomes their homeroom teacher as well during their final year of high school. In their second year, the club welcomes another guitarist, underclassman Azusa Nakano. After Azusa joins they gain more structure and begin to practice more. This series consists of two seasons called K-On! and K-On!!, a movie was also released following the girls trip to London.

After being kicked out of the normal dorm for keeping a stray cat, Sorata Kanda moves into Sakura Dormitory. As he starts to get used to the life in the dorm, Mashiro Shiina, a world famous artist who cannot even take care of her daily life, moves in. Sorata is forced to become Mashiro's handler. The story is about their daily lives as well as mental growth.

Highschool of the Dead is set in present day 2010 Japan, beginning as the world is struck by a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies, euphemistically referred to by the main characters as "Them".
The story follows a group of high school students, the school's nurse, and a young girl as they fight their way to safety through the deadly streets of Japan during the worldwide catastrophic event known as the "Outbreak". As the cast tries to survive the zombie apocalypse, they must also face the additional threats of societal collapse, in the form of dangerous fellow survivors, and the possible decay of their own moral codes.

The story of Macross Frontier is set in the year 2059, 47 years after the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross, 19 years after Macross Plus and 14 years after the story of Macross 7. The series features the 25th New Macross-class Colonial Fleet, dubbed the Macross Frontier, en route to the galactic center. This heavily populated interstellar fleet (consisting of numerous civilian vessels and their military escorts) contains a makeup of both human occupants and their Zentradi allies. As such, many of the Macross Frontier's companion vessels appear to merge more metallic Human designs with organic Zentradi aesthetics. Macross Frontier's plot explores a combination of action/political intrigue/space drama more than previous Macross series have done in the past.

As the series begins, during a mission to an unexplored asteroid belt a reconnaissance New U.N. Spacy (N.U.N.S.) VF-171 is destroyed by extremely powerful and fast insectoid biomechanical alien mecha known as the "Vajra", which immediately begin their attack on the rest of the fleet. Unable to stop the new enemy threat, the N.U.N.S. Colonial Defense Forces authorizes the deployment of a Private Military Provider organization called S.M.S. (Strategic Military Services) which utilizes the new VF-25 Messiah variable fighter to combat the alien menace. Like other installments of the Macross universe, the story mainly revolves around a trio of characters, including Alto Saotome, a young pilot who joins the S.M.S just after the invasion begins, Sheryl Nome, a famous singer known as the "Galactic Fairy" and Ranka Lee, a teenager aspiring to be a singer herself, that form a love triangle.

Two movies were also released called: Macross Frontier The Movie: The False Songstress & Macross Frontier The Movie: The Wings of Goodbye.

Glad to have more people talking about anime =D

1. holy hell thats 1 hell of a post.

2. How is Golden time? I got put off within 3 mins cuz the girl looked like a dude. =s or something like that

3. Your colors blind me

4. About Macross Frontier, I really enjoyed the series, up until the end when they were wrapping it up. I felt like it was either a rushed ending, or one which wasnt that well thought of. <3 Sheryl Nome to hell and back!

note: I didnt watch the movies, as I generally do not, as many anime movies are just rehashed content from the series

I've always been known in WG to talk about Anime, especially conversations in IRC in the past.

Golden Time is very good if you get passed the 1st episode, I am now on episode 6 and it's getting alot more interesting.
I love Colours!
Macross Frontier is indeed a really enjoyable anime, the movies on the other hand only use a 'small' portion of series content, the rest is new content. I personally love the songs and the whole Sheyl/Ranka relationship. I do however agree the ending was rushed.

Haven't posted anything in a while so decided to post the video that got me into watching Fairy Tail :)

Fairy Tail - Fighting for our Guild [HD] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkH_fw2c9sI#ws)

It's one of the best animes I've ever seen, can't wait for the new episodes! :)

I really enjoyed Fairy Tail, especially the later seasons. I however cannot get into Naruto. It just seems there are too many flashbacks and Sakura constantly whinning.

Ye, naruto is kinda slow sometimes, alot of fillers and shit. takes so many episodes to make the story move forward just a tiny bit.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but Attack on Titan is actually pretty sweet. For a guy who originally thought that watching anime was watching cartoony animations, AoT kinda surprised me. Although I admit that it has A LOT of crying scenes.

well... if your mom dies... your city gets completely raped and many of ur townspeople you knew were getting eaten... Probably scarred for life... just a little.

Again I felt the first 2 episodes for AoT were very very strong episodes and conducted very well, the series sets itself up for success =). Same can be said of SAO, cept it fell on its face.

Imo it wasn't that bad, sure was a step down from the awesomeness of the sao episodes (the first 14-ish episodes) but wasn't a complete fuck up.

Also, i read something about a season 2 for AoT, anyone know if it's true or just some rumour?

It would be all but confirmed, given the ratings. Im not so sure on how much source material they have to work with though. In the first season they followed the manga very very closely, maybe it'll be a few seasons before AoT comes back, since the manga is a once per month release.

sooo goodluck on waiting  :'(. also go back to the last episode for cliff hanger right at the end

I believe there will be a second season but not till late next year, I can however say that the creator of 'Fairy Tail' will be continuing the anime (currently stopped at 176) next year, no release date though.

Another another note the 2nd mini movie of Ghost in the Shell (The Origin of Matoko and Section 6) has been released and is called 'Ghost in the Shell Arise: Ghost Whispers'.

Ive heard rumors about the AoT S2 atound that time, but i dont believe an offical date has been made public.

Also: really enjoying kyoukai no katana! I really hate the main characters but mitsuki is fucking awesome, also the latest episode was done very well, giving a well paced well executed plot delivery.

Indeed, It started off slow but it's becoming pretty interesting.

Also this might interest you:

QuoteIt turns out that there are more differences between Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama and Gundam creator Yoshiyuki "Kill 'Em All" Tomino than just the use of "pornographic" violence. Unlike old Minagoroshi no Tomino, Isayama is reluctant to slaughter his cast.

In an interview with White-Screen.jp, Isayama has said that he's been evolving his manga, with new elements being added.

However, one of the more substantial changes to the series' direction is that he was abandoned plans for an audience traumatizing ending.  He had been thinking about something along the lines of the Frank Darabont adaptation Stephen King's The Mist, but response to the series, and especially his anime adaptation has left him unable take that path, and a bit lost. With all the support that the series has received, he didn't want to slam the fans with a traumatic conclusion.

Isayama can certainly empathize with fans. As bit of an otaku, he touches on his appreciation of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Muv-Luv during the course of the interview.

the author could definitely try and go the path of Full Metal Alchemist, of course there is suffering and hardships in the ending, but in the end all the main characters got what they wanted, however sacrificing something very significant ang gaining everlasting scars.

I agree and I don't, AoT is a Dark Anime (Much more than FMA), if they wanted any kind of happy yet dark ending the authors best bet is something like Shikibane Hime (Corpse Princess) or Tsukihime Lunar Goddess with a happy ending. He cannot kill off the 3 main characters (Misaka, Erin and Arwin) as they impact the Anime and Manga alot.

So, Log Horizon ep12 is out today, so i was wondering, what do u think about the anime so far (if u're watching it)?

I think it's good, not as good as some other but still pretty good.
The main character has got more interesting since they showed what he can do.
One thing that bothers me is that the patch for lvl 100 is out but no one is trying to reach it (except some of the best guilds), would be fun to see them actually having a goal like in SAO.

I have yet to watch it personally but it sounds like it can get better, so I may give it a shot.
Freezing Vibrations on the other hand is getting much better and unlike the first season is keeping to the manga.

Also I don't know if anyone has noticed but alot of Harem animes were released for the Christmas period this year such as:

- Freezing Vibrations
- Golden Time
- White Album 2
- Infinite Stratos 2
- Nagi no Asakura
- Yuusubi
- Strike the Blood
- Outbreak Company
- Valve-rave the Liberator
- Walkure Romanze

So all in all alot more has been released over the last few months than any other point during the year.

Harems sell Blue Ray dvds, its one of the most successful models for production studios to follow, as it has the least risk for the project, financial wise.

Tayzon,
I believe you can only get exp from killing monsters 5 lvls under your current level, and everything is much much more difficult because of the change in user interface and real life action that people are not leveling at all. Also factor in, level scaling, it takes an exponential amount of exp each time you want to level up.

Also, i realized after ep12 that they can not get quests since the people of the land are pretty much normal people now, and not just npc's. And im guessing quests give exp.

Since i kinda started watching animes seriously this year i watch a lot of old ones and not many 2013 releases.
The best animes ive seen this year is:
Angel Beats
Sword art online
Girl meets girl (including manga)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Fairy Tail (CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW EPISODES IN 2014!)

All animes ive seen were really good but those are probably the best ones.

Sword Art Online Extra Edition trailer, airs tomorrow (December 31st).

Looks like it's a beach episode, not too keen on that (less boobs, more storyline plz). People are saying it will, in part, tie in to the next story arc/season of SAO though, so I'll probably watch it for that...

It has not been confirmed that we will be seeing a GGO Story Arc as of yet, however who knows that will be at the end of the Special episode, they have the material and the fan backing now.

Just finished the SAO extra edition movie.
Almost 2 hours of awesomeness, mostly flashbacks but it made me remember all the epic stuff from SAO.

And the music.. MY GOD it's so good.

After the credits there is a Cut Scene as well, it shows the Internal Affairs dude calling Kirito, there's also the quest dialogue about not worrying about such and such just yet...

Hmm I thought it was okay, I didn't really need to see a recap show given the fact that I rewatched the series fairly recently. :P

The last 20 or so minutes, however, were actually quite good. Really looking forward to the new season now. :)

Either I read that wrong or I don't recall Mitty and Chiharu raising a death flag lol, I do agree they make a cute couple though and she's very reluctant to go against the Sky Clan.

As for Log Horizon, I totally agree lol, was a shock finding out about the mage guy.

Just finished K-On, I would rate it 6.5/10 because its only comedy and no emotion (idk what to call it).

Now i need a new anime to watch.

Any recommendations? preferably action/emotional like Fairy Tail, SAO or Angel Beats.

I'm thinking about getting back into Bleach, but don't know if it gets any better than that first arc. I'm about 120 episodes into the series, should i continue?

Don't forget you have K-On!! and K-On! the Movie.

As for an anime, I recommend Strike the Blood and bleach does indeed get better. Shame it stopped doing the anime as the manga artist died.
The mangae is drawn by some other dude now but the contract is still in the old guys name. Im not sure how copy right law works in Japan.

rewatch that episode... it was SCREAMING for trouble bound to happen to the recruits.... and why flesh out a side pairing couple so well in such a short amount of time.... redherrings everywhere!

I just read about Mirai Nikki on wiki and got the idea that it was just random people who aren't actually killers or anything that was put in this game. (like Yuki)
But when i saw the first episode it looks like most of them are killers already, which makes it a bit less interesting.
Still looks like a pretty good anime.

hows Little Buster? Im a huge fan of anything Key makes, but i just havent had enough oomph to push me to start Little Buster.

Is it kinda like Clannad? Drama Wise? or more like comedy with Angel Beats? You put it first on your list so I would assume it would be one of your favourites of all time.
Title: Re: Anime Discussion!

Little Buster and Little Buster Refrain is very similar to Clannad and Clannad after story, a bit shorter however. The first season Little Buster follows the protagonist who is just looking to have fun with his closest friends in their last few years of school. It's a simplistic yet enjoyable daily school-life with many humorous moments.

The second season however follows the same trail as Clannad After Story just as emotionally powerful. The first season is filled with melodramatic moments and the second season has thoughtful and meaningful story. It is one of very few anime where the relationships between the characters feel genuine rather than forced or manufactured. Refrain does a magnificent job of making the viewer feel like they are a part of the story rather than merely spectators.

Little Buster was in my personal opinion the best anime I've watched in 2013. If you enjoyed Clannad and Angel beats, I can guarantee you will enjoy Little Buster

Taiga, Ookami-san and Kouko are characters by the same artists, which is why there is a large hint of taiga's personality in each. I found it pretty funny :P
I find it kinda funny how from Taiga to Kouko her shyness is hinted but her violence is often shown xD

I decided to give Little Busters a try, I did like it but I have to say emotional wise and story wise both of the Clannad series was far better.
As for Golden Time, I'm starting to wish they didn't have a weeks gap in between! It's getting very good.

I'm sure this anime will be really good.

DONE!

Watched all Death Note episodes in 4 days, was really good.
What I liked the most was that they are so damn smart, like predicting everything.
It was also very easy to understand everything (after they explained it), so no crazy stuff that bothers you.

I'll rate it 10/10.

I know :( however I also know that there will be a second season of Log Horizon.
I really wish the Anime doesn't end on episode 24 for Golden Time as the Light Novel is a lot larger than what we have seen in the anime.

Haven't finished Soul Eater yet but since it's so boring i decided to check out Another ("Another" is the name of the anime) since it only has 13 episodes so i could finish it in 2 days.
Started it yesterday and finished today.
It was really good. 9/10.
The only thing that bothered me a whole lot is that Mei is stupid as fuck.

Now I just have to finish Soul Eater... got like 15 episodes left...

I don't mind the animations, but the show lacks something that pulls you in.
There is nothing in it that makes me feel like "What's gonna happen next???"

Been watching nisekoi a bit, currently at ep10, and holy shit that hot bath episode with the card game, best episode ever.
This week was also the saddest week ever for me because i found out No game no life ended last week after only 12 episodes.... it was so good and i didn't even realise it was the last episode... i really hope for a second season.

SaO 2 STARTS TODAY%¤"%£$

HYYYYPPPEEEE

Edit: After watching the first episode i can say that this season will probably be really good.
I've also heard that kirito gets a female/feminine character in GGO which many people have complained about but i think it will be interesting.
