RuneScape Discussion / Re: Legacy Beta.
July 10, 2014, 12:51:52 AM
A guy named Mr Bugatti came in with 3 suggestions for His Lordship's vid about Legacy:

1: Claws shouldn't be off and mainhand; its a spec weapon and therefor should not be a 2 clock action.
In fact, all legacy special attack weapons shouldn't require their offhand counterpart...

2: Spiritshields need their passive ability back (or something similar)

3: Gamers Grotto minigames should be put back into the wilderness (where they belong, although the Clanwars portal could also be put in the Clancamp).

His words, but my first though is to not worry too much about clan portal locations cuz of the Tower of Voices update thats coming...

How?

I dont even got an on-hand one!

It disproves the point for OSRS (for now), I've yet to see something in RS3 wildy that they haven't got, or later make available somewhere outside of the Wild.

Very controversial at times but well thought out.
I will provide more detail once I've read it properly - I only skimmed this time.
Can't wait to hear it :D

This especially concerns people from the United States...

I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE FOR YOU TO EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THIS, SINCE IT CONCERNS YOUR INTERNET!

The EU has on no uncertain terms enshrined Net Neutrality into law (hint hint UK peeps, vote to stay in the EU to keep this, cuz your country didn't really want this to happen), which means any content from the EU and going TO the EU is not subject to being Gate-kept (see video)...

In the states it's another story, as net neutrality is currently non-existent as it's not really neutral anymore since ComCast forced Netflix to pay extra for bandwidth they were already getting...

There are more video's on this which I'll post here when I find them...

[EDIT] and here they are...

http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Devblog:Rejuvenating_the_Wilderness

Updates such as the ones in that blog, but obviously tuned to be more RS3 relevant.
Monster Spawns: Probably a big no here, cuz as I said in my article, the risk/reward equation comes nowhere near the stuff in the rest of runescape, simply due to the fact that you can lose all your stuff.
Resources: Only the new fish is worth it if Manta Rays (also healing 22) cannot already be collected from Trawler.
Demi Bosses: I don't know if these shields would be best-in-slot, but if not, then it's doomed on arrival.
Bosses: Forcing people to walk out of the wild is a start, but the rest of it is again doomed on arrival if the Dragon Pickaxe weren't already available from somewhere else.
Activities: Fountain of Rune sounds awesome, until you realize you have to walk in with your to-alch items and walk out with all your alched cash, Resource Area suffers from the same symptom as the New Fish, Prayer Recharger is a nice feature for wars, but doesn't attract anyone into the Wild, Thieving Chests depends on the XP rate, not loot.

See, the MASSIVE problem Jagex has, is that they simply REFUSE to put anything in The Wilderness that you cannot get anywhere else (the list above says it all), because they are afraid of the deluge of complaints about unfairness etc. Since they won't step away form than, The Wilderness remains dead.

Real Life Discussion / Re: Missing Plane in Asia
March 11, 2014, 09:53:29 PM
For some reason, I can't give a shit about a missing plane... More people die every hour due to car crashes alone, not even going to mention the rate of people dying due to PREVENTABLE diseases (regardless of the reasons)...

I am however upset that it bumped the standoff, and possible prelude to war developing in the Ukraine from the headlines...

Real Life Discussion / Cosmos... IT'S BACK!

Neil deGrasse Tyson tries to fill Carl Sagan's empty shoes by rebooting the old series, taking you on a trip through the cosmos. Produced by Seth Macfarlane (Family Guy, American Dad), and directed by Brannon Braga (Star Trek, 24, Terra Nova).

Best thing of all, you can watch it and just be amazed by the cosmic scenery, as you require no scientific knowledge to understand what Tyson tries to communicate and educate.

Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Sweet... It's the old argument of:

"You can't, and therefore DON'T know everything, so you don't know whether or not there is a god, therefore there must be a god, because either he or the universe is infinite, meaning that the possibility of him existing approaches 100%."

Yes... And the possibility of you leaving the room you're in right now pregnant is 50% because you're either pregnant or you're not...

Just because we don't know everything doesn't mean everything we don't know is unknowable, nor does it mean that the unknowable is god.

What was it again?

"There's at least one person wearing a WG shirt every time I come to the Jagex offices."
