So today is cyber Monday, and I was wondering if this laptop could play RS at max 50fps with ease.

It has a 3rd gen i7 8GB Ram, GTX 660M 2GB, 1TB 5400 RPM
Oh hell yes it can. Just wondering though, why not just buy a desktop? You can do so much more for the price of that laptop if you built it yourself.
Well, I don't really have a permanent residency. I go from place to place frequently. I don't want to set up base anywhere :D
Very nice laptop... Although I would go for ASUS over Lenovo for multi-media/gaming any day... I have that exact laptop but it is ASUS. I can run BO2/WoW/Aion/Tera/etc... you get the point. They run any game fairly well. So yes, it will run Runescape perfectly fine.
Gaming/high end multi-media laptops are great. Especially if they aren't that heavy/big. Mine is perfect for school and gaming. I lug it around everywhere. I also have a gaming desktop... I use this laptop more than that!
Should I waste an extra 100 on a 1080p screen?
Meh... If 100 bucks isn't an issue. Sure -- a good laptop display with 1080p will look sexy. Make sure the laptops display specs are up there though... Advertising isn't all what it seems now-a-days with electronics.

Yes, it's a pretty great laptop. Enjoy.
