I love this game.

But, instead of living in the countryside, I am now in the middle of Southern France in a house that doesn't belong to any town/village.

To say there is nothing here, is an understatement.

Downloaded it earlier but I live in the middle of nowhere and there's one spawn point near me. I've caught 4 pidgeys, 3 ratattas and a Spearow from it haha.

There are 6 pre-pet pets. You unlock the first randomly. Then the next 5 you can get in the next 5 kills if you achieve the targets. One for melee kill, range kill, mage kill, killing it with a mirrorback active, one where you absorb all poison and can't remember last... I think you don't damage until phase 3... Something like that?
